S5E36 Brave Enough to Believe with Angela Donadio
“Disappointment bruises the bravest of souls. The nagging ache of uncertainty causes us to grow weary and afraid to hope. Doubt entices us to wonder if God is good when life is not. Yet, our hard questions can become opportunities for Jesus to show us who He is.”
On this powerful episode of Shut the Should Up, Candace and Jenny invite Angela Donadio for an incredible discussion on being brave in every moment that matters.
In Angela's book, Brave Enough To Believe, she speaks of her two near-death experiences and what God did through them.

Your purpose is attached to the presence of God
Don’t ask why questions
Thomas - doubt and disappointment
About the Authors:
Angela Donadio is an author, speaker, and host of the Make Life Matter Podcast.
A seasoned Bible teacher and ordained minister, she empowers women in Africa

About the Book:
Discover Jesus’ invitation to come closer when doubt drives us away.
Disappointment bruises the bravest of souls. The nagging ache of uncertainty
causes us to grow weary and afraid to hope. Doubt entices us to wonder if God is
good when life is not. Yet, our hard questions can become opportunities for Jesus
to show us who He is.
Perhaps you know Thomas for his bouts with doubt. But Jesus knew Thomas for
the courage to question and the bravery to believe. When a crisis of faith revealed
his deepest doubts, Jesus met Thomas’s deepest longings.
The authors bring two unique perspectives to flip the script on the story of
Thomas. Whether you are a seeker, skeptic, or seasoned leader, you will learn
to live untangled from uncertainty, leverage adversity, and lead with confidence
through challenging circumstances.
Thomas exchanged his uncertainty for a life of tenacious faith. When we encounter
Jesus, we can too.

S5E18 5 Invitations to Restoration Through Prayer with Suzie Eller
In this episode, we hear from Suzie Eller about how to have restoration through prayer. Suzanne (Suzie) Eller is the author of 12 books. Her most recent is Prayer Starters: Talking with God about Hard Times. Suzie served as a writer and speaker with Proverbs 31 Ministries for 14 years. She’s a co-host, along with Holley Gerth and Jennifer Watson, of More Than Small Talk and host of Prayer Starters, a daily prayer podcast. She’s been featured on Focus on the Family, Aspiring Women, Harvest Show, 100 Huntley Street, KLOVE, DayStar, and others. Suzie is a wife to a guy she still likes a lot, mom to 3 grown children and their spouses, "Gaga" to six littles, and a 2-time breast cancer survivor. If you can describe her in one word, it's this: grateful.
5 KEY ELEMENTS TO RESTORATIVE PRAYER
- Take the pressure off of prayer (A point of entry - honesty, vulnerability, authenticity)
- You do you (unique expression - walk, painting, workout)
- Just show up ( we have uncertainty tangled around our hearts)
- Tell God all the things (“I want you to know God I’m mad at you.” “God, I feel lost.” “I don’t know what to do”) when we release those things that are weighty they no longer have room in our heart, God takes resistance. All the things don’t have room in our hearts…
- Slow it down (go into the word of God for a two-way conversation, pause when you feel the pull).
You can connect with Suzie by checking out the Prayer Starters podcast. It's a daily 2-3 minute podcast with the KLRC podcast network.
Until next week embrace the freedom to kick your should out the door.

In this episode of Shut the Should Up with Candace Panye and Jenny Randle, we’re talking to Bible teacher and best-selling author Lisa Whittle. One does not nullify the other. Being wise in holding this tension can be difficult, but pretending one or the other isn’t true is devastating.” So today, we’re holding that tension together and having a hard conversation about spiritual abuse.
