She said:  "Hi Sandra…I have also left the LDS church in the past year and have had a hard time sharing my feelings with other people. I’ve found that in the “Ex-Mormon” world, there are a lot of people who just don’t believe in God at all. I’m struggling to decide what I believe. I was taught that God was an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent being who knows everything about me and is intimately involved in my daily existence…and I don’t believe that at all. But I do believe in some sort of higher power. I feel a lot of pressure from other people who have left the church to give that up, however, and I think that’s part of the reason I’m hesitant to tell people I’m no longer a member—because I don’t really know what I believe anymore. My inner mean girl tells me that I should have this all figured out already. So how do I figure it out? And how do I find peace with my own beliefs when there are so many people out there telling me how I “SHOULD” believe?" The stress response system is the emergency reaction system of the body and it’s there to keep you safe in emergencies. It includes physical AND thought responses to your perception of various situations that show up in your life. When the stress response is turned on, your body releases stress hormones, like adrenaline and cortisol, which causes specific things to happen inside of you. It can make your heart pound, your blood pressure increase, and your breathing get faster. Your stress response system is a completely normal part of life...unless it is constantly getting activated because of past trauma or abuse. In this episode, Sandra discusses the body's response to stress and how you can tell whether or not these responses are normal and healthy, or creating problems in your daily life.

People who are self-aware tend to be better employees, have better communication skills, enjoy healthier relationships, and have an overall sense of well-being. Or when you're feeling insecure about the blemish on your face, or the size of your body, or the gray hairs that seem to be coming in at record speed.
