There are a lot of things in life that we just don't know. There's not enough information available to us, and in order to more forward, your brain likes to "fill in the blanks" with thoughts that seem useful. And sometimes, it is! But sometimes, it's not helpful at all. Like when you interpret the silence from that friend you texted several days ago, or when they respond in a way you weren't expecting. Or when you're feeling insecure about the blemish on your face, or the size of your body, or the gray hairs that seem to be coming in at record speed. The brain is really good at filling in the blanks with hurtful, fearful and less than helpful thoughts. It thinks it's keeping you safe!
