TPTA13: Franciska- A Small Piece of the Puzzle

Episode 13 was headlined by a conversation with Franciska!  Even if c"v you have not yet been exposed to Franciska's music and the messages she's able to relay through her professionally-done music videos, you may have come across The Franciska Show or have heard about her company, Kay Productions LLC. Franciska is all about advocating for and promoting your cause. She leads by example on how to use a platform to impactfully fill a void. She’s constantly looking for ways to maximize her skillset and optimize her reach. I recommend checking out some of her projects.  Host: Simcha Kranczer, certified Fran stan. simcha.tpta@gmail.com 718-887-6211  Guest: Franciska  www.franciskamusic.com  www.franciskakosman.com  franciskakay@gmail.com  Outie: “Best That I Can”- https://music.apple.com/us/album/best-that-i-can/1624947940?i=1624947941&ls  https://youtu.be/KsF_7CKSqBc A reminder to share this podcast with whomever you think would enjoy it or would benefit from it. TPTA12: What You Have to Offer

TPTA12: What You Have to Offer

Episode 12 welcomes in Shlomo Sonnenberg. Shlomo has already begun establishing himself as a go-to for arrangements and productions... and it’s just the beginning. He continues to work on his craft as he delicately balances his own musical intuitions and convictions while also remaining open-minded as he caters to the client’s visions.  Undoubtedly, we will hear big things from Shlomo- as a vocalist, musician, composer, arranger, producer, and I'm sure more. I’m glad we were able to connect BEFORE the bandwagon forms. TPTA11: Understanding Your Audience

TPTA11: Understanding Your Audience

Episode 11 was graced by musician Binyomin Ginzberg (of Breslov Bar Band). Binyomin has had such a vast array of experiences, from performing at all types of events (whether individually or as part of the two bands he’s put together) to releasing albums and even writing and publishing a book. Be it arrangements, transcriptions, or even retrieving nuggets of Jewish music history, Binyomin has so much to offer. I’m delighted that he was able to share some insights with us.

TPTA8: A Melody Should Not Be an Afterthought (short)

If the storyline behind a song pulls at your heart enough, does the song itself even have to be good for people to still rave about it? If one finds a singer to be charming, have the listeners already been too smitten to give an objective evaluation of the song? At what point does a particular theme or message or sob story become too cliche and too predictable? At what point do people start treating these as adequate substitutes for a strong melody and for clever lyrics? Laugh & like, support & share, rate & review. TPTA6: Go Fisch!

TPTA6: Go Fisch!

In episode 6, experienced musician Mendy Fisch (absentee neighbor but avid fan of the podcast) joyfully joins Simcha in another thought-provoking discussion sure to entertain JM lovers. Are there "filler" songs? Is it predetermined which songs become popular and which songs get left in the dust? Would you put a compromised, albeit balanced/diverse team on the court or simply your best players? We'll also hear Mendy reflect on his experiences thus far and learn about some of the musical projects and personalities we should look out for. His unprompted and sincere enthusiasm and praise for the podcast are especially appreciated! A reminder to share this podcast with whomever you think would enjoy it or would benefit from it. Episode 3! Simcha is joined by a longtime friend, Eli Daitchman, for the entirety of this episode.

Jewish Music seems to have two simple criteria- it should be Jewish and it should be music, right? But can these two terms actually be defined adequately? What are the qualifications? What is the standard? Who decides what the threshold is and/or when someone has breached that boundary? Who dictates the direction of JM and its pace of evolution?

Simcha & Eli have a very lively and entertaining conversation as they discuss golf (there’s a valid reason; please believe me!), as well as non-Jewish trends, sounds, and flat-out unabashed copying that trickles into JM. They discuss song lyrics, authenticity, and they hopelessly contemplate how/if there can be a common ground in JM where the artists can be the best [genuine, consistent] versions of themselves while still inspiring their listeners and without losing a segment of their fanbase in the process.

Let’s not forget the impetus of this episode: HOW REALISTIC IS YERAKRAK?!  (Hint: Very)
