Single in the Springs is a podcast by Meagan Thomas and Madeline Hoeppner about relationships, dating, and single life in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Both women have been on their fair share of bad dates, not to mention their own mess-ups. While dating can be both fun and a nightmare, we’re not in it alone. You’ll hear stories ranging from funny tales of men with strange butt tattoos, to more serious discussion of what to do when you have a gut feeling things aren’t OK. Whether you’re with your person, looking for Mr.Right, or just need a reason to laugh, we’ve got you.
If you listen to the podcast and you're confused why we're talking about Valentine's Day, it's because we recorded before then ;) This week, we have our wonderful friend and local chef/ restauranteur Andres Velez on the show. We talk about grooming, Costco runs, and if it matters if you post your SO on Instagram.

Maddie and Meagan discuss how hard it is to NOT compare yourself and your love life to your friends. We also touch on seeing exes, rejection, Bumble Premium, AND we finish up with a realllllly weird story about eye care.
Happy 2021! Maddie and Meagan welcome their friend Leah Behr onto the podcast. Leah chats with us about meeting her husband and what's actually important in a relationship. Plus, she's the ultimate hype girl!
Also, we hear about Maddie's awkward encounter during her waxing appointment.

This week, Maddie and Meagan talk about the backhanded compliments men give women that are actually just insults. They also chat about Single's Day, and what is probably on every single woman's Amazon wish list during a pandemic. Mackenzie joins them for some fun side commentary, too.
OK. We know we haven't been consistent in getting the podcast up. There have been A LOT of changes for Meagan + Maddie over the past couple of months. Plus COVID-19. BUT we are back. FOR GOOD THIS TIME. and will be bringing you a new episode every week. So catch up with us this week, and tune in next week as we bring back our regular programming.

This week on Single in the Springs, we have special guest Sam Vinson. We spend a strange amount of time talking about pooping and farting in front of significant others. We also chat about dating profiles and personality flaws. Meagan hits on Sam too much. Oh, and Maddie broke her arm.

Apparently it all goes back to your childhood. In this episode, we talk to Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Ashley Rainey. We cover breadcrumbing, trauma, and attachment styles. This episode was eye opening - at least for us!

This week, we welcome Hometown Hero (or hometown zero? JK.) Bryan Spiess as our guest! Bryan, Maddie and Meagan talk about best spots for happy hour, weird dating encounters, and online dating in COS. There may be some conversation about waxing, err, down there. We finish the episode with worst date stories, submitted by listeners via Facebook and Instagram!
We begin this episode by discussing Black Lives Matter. Because on this podcast, we believe Black Lives Matter, Women's Rights are Human Rights, No Human is Illegal, Science is Real, and Love is Love.
Maddie and Meagan then discuss lessons they've learned while dating - some of which we crowdsourced from listeners.
We are FINALLY recording again after a brief break because of COVID-19! We update you on our regular lives, our love lives (or lack of *cough* Meagan *cough*) and the new podcast studio! We're SO happy to be back.
Happy quarantining! Not much is happy about it, but we're doing our best to look on the bright side. Meagan and Maddie talk bumbling because you're bored, dating during social distancing, and local businesses you can support during the pandemic.
A few things to note:
1. Excuse the audio. We are recording via zoom as we can't meet up to record with our usual equipment.
2. We will release new podcasts ever Tuesday and Thursday during the pandemic!
3. We will go live on Instagram every Friday at 5PM for cocktails and to chat about our weeks. Join us!
In this episode, Meagan and Maddie talk about a whole lot of random topics, including figuring out if a guy is flirting or not, happy endings, canceling dates AND we give a huge shoutout to Planned Parenthood, who we really support.
Getting out of a long-term relationship sucks, and learning to date after not being single isn't the greatest. We chat with Lauren McDonald about life after a break-up, dating in COS, and her absolutely nots when it comes to potential suitors.
Maddie and Meagan discuss spending holidays with significant others, fun holiday dates in Colorado Springs, and not being The Grinch about holiday engagements and being single. Plus, they answer a listener question in a new "Ask Us for Our Bad Advice" segment.
Today on Single in the Springs we talk about firsts. Whether it's the first kiss, or the first time meeting friends, sometimes it can get awkward. We also talk about how to eat lobster claws, Maddie’s knowledge of seahorse reproduction, Meagan’s irrational hate of farting, and pooping at your significant other’s house.
This week special guest Robyn Baumgartner helps us define "Cuffing Season." We chat break-ups, hooking up with friends, and dating multiple people. This episode is definitely not safe for work. Just a heads up.
In episode 5, Maddie and Meagan celebrate SpOoOky Season by talking about Ghosting. When should or shouldn't you do it? What do you do when it happens to you - or really what not to do. Also, Meagan has an allergic reaction to her beer halfway through the episode, and Maddie gives us ideas on couples costumes for Halloween!
We had some technical difficulties during the recording of our second episode, so we took a lunch (wine) break and ended up bringing back an unexpected guest for the show. Special guest Mackenzie Maltby talks with us about dating after divorce, strange experiences, and when things aren't working out when you're getting ahem, intimate.
Meagan and Maddie introduce themselves and tell the audience about some of their worst dates, as well as the times they were the bad dates.
