2024 MILLROSE GAMES PREVIEW
If you are unfamiliar with the Millrose Games, it can be best described as the Indoor "Super Bowl" for Track & Field. Sit & Kick with Simone Plourde: Her Rise in Canadian Middle Distance Running
Simone Plourde may be new to the professional scene, but how she races and handles everything running would make you think she has been in the sport for decades.
Simone Plourde rose to recognition quickly in the NCAA while at the University of Utah. She finished 4th in the 3000m at NCAA Indoors, Pac-12 champion over 1500m, and earned All-American honors in the outdoor 5000m. It wasn't a perfect final year for the NCAA, but it was a perfect year for her to transition into the professional ranks, signing with Nike and UAC.
Her summer consisted of a podium finish at the Canadian Championships and representing Team Canada in Budapest at the World Championships. Even after the long year, she lowered her 1500m PR to 4:06.
Simone is well-spoken and articulate in how she talks about running, but not in the way you might think. She is a refreshing listen and we are sure her mindset and monologues will make you a fan of hers ahead of the Paris 2024.
Topics of the Episode include:
- Introduction to running and NCAA system/transfering Universities
- Decision to leave NCAA early
- Exceeding all expectations in 2023
- First World Championship experience
- Nike/UAC
- Fan Submitted
- BanterBowl

Sit & Kick with Isaiah Harris: Why 2024 is Zay's Year!
Isaiah Harris is not only a fan favorite for podcast guests but also one of our favorites for the 2024 Olympic team. Zay has nearly a decade of dominance under his belt for 800m, from winning NCAA titles with Penn State to representing his first US Senior team in 2017, 2022(i), and 2023. Zay has shown that experience is everything in the 800m, and he has what it takes to compete for the 2024 Olympic Team. In this episode, expect some high-quality banter and deep-dive conversations as two friends tackle various topics like professionals. Dave and Zay were teammates for one year but have known each other for some time. Topics covered include: - Dream 4x800m team to take down the WR of 7:02 by Kenya - Placing 4th in the 2021 Tokyo Trials - winning a diamond league two weeks later - What it takes to make the 2024 Team - I experienced another World Championship while watching a friend become a World Champion. - What Josh Kerr brings as a teammate - Zay is challenging Dave over 1000m for $1000! - & so much more! "The Most Handsome Duo in the NCAA" with Nico Young & Drew Bosley
In classic Sit & Kick fashion, the podcast returned with the most talked about duo in the NCAA. Nico Young & Drew Bosley! The pair of NAU Lumberjacks join the show after a busy few weeks of racing. The pair finished 5th & 6th individually at the NCAA Cross Country Championships (leading their team to a 2nd place finish) and then two weeks later, they ran the best 3k/5k double on the same day, ever?
Each of them posted marks under 7:45 for 3000m and then a few hours later ran sub 13:30 for 5000m
The return episode of S&K covered a few podcast updates. Then it transitioned to deep diving NAU, the professional scene of Flagstaff, and Coach Mike Smith's mentality that he bestows upon his athletes for racing. From there, the podcast dived into the ever-famous banter bowl.
Enjoy this hour-long episode, it is good to be back! Rate 5-star wherever you listen!!!
We've lost track of the season... so welcome to SEASON 6
JOSH KERR 1500M WORLD CHAMPION
The title of this episode is all the description you need to click play and kick back. However, if you still need convincing, this episode is the most in-depth Josh Kerr has gone in his build-up to the World Championships in Budapest, where he went on to win his first world title over 1500m. If you have listened to this podcast through the years you know David and Josh operate in a candid format. The episodes are less of an interview and more of a conversation between friends. This episode just so happens to be a very candid convo about rivals in Budapest, Josh's life and diet structure leading into the championships, a year's worth of races, and more. Enjoy this episode after the biggest win of Josh's career (so far).

The Year in Review: World Champs, Contracts and David to UAC/Nike
A Track & Field Synopsis from World Indoors to Records & Relays.
The past eight weeks have been full of talkable topics from Dave getting engaged to Josh getting a bit enraged at people boasting their opinions on athletes. A full circle of conversations beginning with the NCAA Division DII Record falling to Christian Noble this past weekend and ending with a no-skin-the-game discussion on the 4xMile relay banter. Between the two topics were a variety of great chat deep diving Daves experience in Ireland and both hosts prepping for a blistering 5k on May 6th.
This is the first episode back after an eight week mid-season break. As your hosts push closer to championship season they will still be releasing episodes frequently but the upmost importance and focus your hosts is to make their individual teams for Eugene 2022
Notable moments:
- Christian Nobles DII Record
- Transition from NCAA to Professional
- Dave Engaged & Josh's priority to make Dave hurt.
- Sound Running 5k

What It Takes To Run 3:48 For The Mile
On February 27th, 2022. Your Hosts Josh Kerr and Dave Ribich had one mission in mind: set some records. Commonwealth, European, British & Personal Records were absolutely smashed. This podcast episode gives you the recap of Josh's #3 All-Time race and Daves insight into the indoor season. It was real, it was personal and although not a whole lot of banter was had, it was wholesome.

Keely Hodgkinson: The UK is just plain better than the US!
At 19, Keely Hodgkinson is already one of the most decorated female middle distance athletes in UK history. However just because she is the Olympic Silver Medalist, dosent mean she can escape the banter. If anything this episode gives incredible reason to root for Keely. She is genuine, fierce and an absolute tornado on the track (this will make sense, we promise). With her Olympic medal comes her British outdoor 800m record and as of yesterday (Feb 19 2022) she became the British indoor record holder over 800m.
If you want to hear USA vs UK relay banter, what it takes mentally to go from U20 champ to olympic runner-up then give this a play, subscribe and tell your friends.
"During the editing phase I forgot I was even doing my job, I simply was enjoying the banter, conversations and genuine outlook Keely brings to the sport. This episode is an all-time for me, hopefully we can bring her back after more medals and records find their place with Keely." - Dave

Cole Hocker, Charlie Hunter and Cooper Teare Cash Out!
"Do Track Differently" has been and will forever be the motto for your hosts. From roundtable talks with rising stars to paying their guest, your hosts are doing it differently. This is the first athlete paid appearance made from your hosts and they decided to have a little fun, maybe too much fun as it costed them nearly four figures. Thats alright, its all part of the banter! Cole Hocker, Cooper Teare and Charlie Hunter are household names for University of Oregon fans and need to be household names for any track fan alike. On the rise, these three former ducks have recently signed their professional contracts with Nike and look to make a return back to Hayward Field for the 2022 World Championships.
If you combine all the accolades that these three accumulated, in the 2021 collegiate and olympic season; you would max out the character limit of Word.

Charlie Hunter 800m PR: 1:44.21
Cooper Teare 5000m PR: 13:12.27
Sit & Kick Christmas Miracle
This bonus episode has all the holiday spirit in one. Love, banter and some absolutely serious conversations brought on by YOU. Your hosts took the day off from planning an episode and let the Sit & Kick Community steer the recording! Was this a good idea? probably not. Was this a good episode? absolutely.
Classic deep dive banter and all things serious (like doping in the sport) are covered in this 69 minute episode. Opening the floor to listeners to come on and control the show is a risk your hosts will always be willing to take. From your hosts "Thank you for over 100,000 listens, hours upon hours of banter and every second of pure joy."
For this episode all your hosts ask is to enjoy it, leave a review and get ready for an incredible 2022 of performances, guests and banter.

"LetsRun? How about LetsFight" with Coach Danny Mackey
There is no coach on the professional circuit right now with more unwarranted #banter against them. This is the exact reason why the stoic young coach is one of the best coaches in the world. He blocks out the noise & focuses on the one true aspect of the sport: His athletes well being and their success. Coach Mackey in recent years has proved himself as one of the rising professional coaches in the world however Coach Mackey will never be the one to tell you, nor will the trolls behind the message boards. The ones that will tell you however are the athletes that have first hand experience being coached by Mackey in recent years. In the year of 2018 both of your hosts David Ribich & Josh Kerr signed their professional contracts to be coached by Mackey and since then, they have improved in every event they have run (similarly has everyone on the team).
Focusing on this episode, your hosts break the barrier of athlete & coach and have a real chat with "The Gaffer" as Josh Kerr describes in the first 5 minutes. Their is tons of insight, banter and knowledge that spans every minute of this episode. With the first Top 10 requested guest securing their spot in the season we move on to #9 and hope the trend continues. Listen to this episode NOW to find out why your hosts trust Coach Mackey with their careers.
Some #banter to look forward too:
- Who is more coachable - Dave or Josh
- Who is the least coachable guy you’ve ever had
- What characteristics makes Josh way faster than Dave
- Do you get enough credit?
- If you had a daughter who would you rather her date - Josh or Dave
- Why is Henry Wynne’s form so bad?
- Who would win in a race, Josh’s ego or Dave’s therapist
- Who is/was more talented Kerr/Symmonds
- Most unique coaching tactic.
- How much money did Josh’s medal earn you
- Which one of your athletes is going to “surprise” people this year?
Coach Mackey 2021 stat:
Mens 1500m Olympic Bronze Medal

7x Olympic Trials Finalists
3x Top 5 finishes at the Olympic Trials: W5000m, M1500m, M800m

Bonus Episode: How To Represent Your Country On The World Stage
Your hosts couldn't stay away. Technically in their "podcasting off season", your hosts gear up for major championships & major opportunities though the summer. However, they needed to give the people (you) what they want by recapping the past trial experiences. Dave, the 5k guy himself, made the United States Olympic Trials Final over 1500m. Josh, the bad man himself, won the British Athletic Olympic Trials over 1500m. With the experience came emotions, gratitude & focus for whats ahead. Your hosts break down their individual championships & what went on in both the preparation for those moments & the moments themselves.
This bonus episode is one of a kind as both hosts are oddly kind to one another in honoring the hard work & tactics that it took to get to the point where they are at today. However don't be deceived, banter was surely had.
Key Notes:
Dave & a secret speedy co-host will come on to the podcast at the end of the month to build anticipation for the games.
An exclusive lawn chair shirt will drop very, VERY soon.

Season Finale: Banter Babes
How your hosts have such beautiful and hilarious girlfriends is beyond them. The Banter Babes come onto the podcast and do more than just normal damage as your hosts are exposed as some of the weirdest and proudest boyfriends on the circuit. Josh Kerr gets set up for a hilarious story by Larimar and Olivia announces how she feels about all Daves romantic talk through every episode. We added the good ol' "Explicit" tag to this episode because well, romance and love can be a bit explicit at times.
This is a great end to a phenomenal season of the Sit & Kick Podcast. During his senior year at Wisconsin, Morgan McDonald had an undefeated NCAA Championship year winning Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor titles. This Youtube sensation is a 2x World Championship qualifier while representing Australia and his making his name known for a bid selection in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
In this episode a ton is covered but lets start with the title. It sounds like a clickbait title but as it stands your hosts are soon to step up to the 5k where Morgan McDonald is faster. Who knows, maybe Morgan gave your hosts a few pointers. Later in the episode, the game that your host David Ribich created was a game of intellect. We won't spoil anything but your other host Josh Kerr did in fact face off against the Aussie in a battle of wits. For the #BanterBowl Morgan showed only his best qualities as stories unfold and banter is had.

Your hosts promised a season of professionals...well they lied. Cole Hocker is the only athlete in NCAA History to double back and win the mile and 3k, he broke the NCAA Indoor Mile Record and is now #2 all time in that event (3:50.55). He ran 3:56, 3:53 (meet record) and 7:46 in the span of 24 hours. Sounds pretty professional to us!
Goldie Hocks touches on a variety of topics including his championship mindset, their grueling Ben Thomas Warm up and his future plans in the NCAA and beyond. Not only that but he survives the BanterBowl with your hosts and even comes out ahead of Josh Kerrs Game Segment. This is an episode that continues the streak of excellence for the Sit and Kick Podcast. Some athletes say Disneyland, some athletes say buy a house. What does Bryce Hoppel say? "I'm going to the Sit and Kick Podcast!"

This episode has a wide variety of moods from roasts on your hosts to Dave deep diving into what the natural transition of confidence can be. The highs and the lows.
Josh invents a new game on the podcast where the guest must give the first word that comes to mind for a pro running group, the word MUST be non athletic related. Although this game wasn't in the #BanterBowl, it was surely banter. One response Bryce gave was "Thats a pro team?" find out who that team!

Collegiate eligibility, agents, professional teams and his future plans started the podcast off hot. It then got hotter when Cooper survived the Banter Bowl. Banter that ranged from Dave and Busters to NCAA Final Clusters. A Pre SZN episode that will ultimately get you hyped for Season IV.

Episode II "Dani Jones Signs With....."
Dani Jones has an array of qualities that suited her as a guest for the Sit and Kick Podcast. To start, she is fast. Three time NCAA Champion fast. She even won the international mile at the Pre Classic. Secondly, she is a professional on and off the track. She presents herself with purpose and drive to be the best human she can be.
Lastly, and most importantly. She can take and deliver heat. Dani Jones answers the question of Jenny Simpson or Emma Coburn, if women should run 8k for cross country and more.
