By Browny & Luke

Two seasons down and time for a change-up! Check-ins are short, sharp, topical episodes chatting all things life and the way Luke & Browny handle it (or don't). They will be chatting to some of their previous inspirational guests and "checking in" on them and updating YOU and themselves on their lives. Browny and Luke don’t pretend to have the answers, but they are still working on themselves and the stigma of being embarrassed to talk about feelings and mental health.

S2E11 - Masterchef & Mental Fitness with Brent Draper

S2E11 - Masterchef & Mental Fitness with Brent Draper

When Brent Draper entered the kitchen for the 2021 edition of Masterchef Australia, he dreamed of turning his passion for cooking into a new profession. Masterchef was meant to change the lives of him and his young family. Masterchef has changed his life for the better, but in ways Brent could never have imagined, before entering the Channel 10 cooking studios. The whole of Australia felt his pain when he put his hand up for help, and had to leave the show, as he was battling a debilitating bout of anxiety. The airing of this episode just so happened to be at the start of Mens Health Week, and before he knew it, Brent had, by accident, become the face of this movement. Brent's story between Masterchef ending, and where he is 3 months later is an inspiration, and we are absolutely honored to share an incredible insight, into a beautiful human being, as he shares with us the tower of strength his wife was, to his unbreakable bond with Masterchef judge Jock Zonfrillo, and everything in between.

S2E09 - "Remembering Chubby" with Troy and Clint from Chubby Welsh Autos

S2E09 - "Remembering Chubby" with Troy and Clint from Chubby Welsh Autos

John “Chubby” Welsh was a legendary figure on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. If you didn’t know him as the mechanic or the incredible family man and friend, chances are you have seen for yourself, or heard the stories about his tireless charity work, his annual Santa parade in Narrabeen or his endless support to the local sporting organisations. He touched every person he crossed paths with, and the local community is still recovering from his shock passing in 2018. His 2 sons, Troy and Clint, give an incredible insight into how they have dealt, and continue to deal with, the loss of the real life Peter Pan. It’s an incredible raw and honest episode, with Browny and Luke sharing a rich 20 year friendship with the Welsh family. Troy repeatedly talks about gratitude in this episode, well my friend, we are grateful for you & Clint. Also listen to the end to hear Clint make a promise to himself that we all need to help him keep. Mad love to Lyn, Kristy, and the whole Welsh family. The Chubby legend will live on forever.

S2E08 - Making Meditation Mainstream founder and all round great human Jason Partington

S2E08 - Making Meditation Mainstream founder and all round great human Jason Partington

Jason Partington wears many hats - husband, father, community leader and meditation advocate to name but a few. Through his work as the founder of the not for profit “Making Meditation Mainstream” charity, as well as his “Meditation for Men” business, he has changed thousands of lives with his meditation teachings. But before he was able to help others, he had to help himself. His personal story is powerful, but his last few years as a community leader on the Northern Beaches is even more inspirational, as he helps rebuild a broken community, with his message of meditation and positivity.

S2E07 - Good Human Factory founder & Pro Surfer, Cooper Chapman

S2E07 - Good Human Factory founder & Pro Surfer, Cooper Chapman

It’s hard to believe Cooper Chapman is only 26 years old, as he has a maturity and understanding of the mental health space well beyond those years . Covid may have slowed down his pro surfing career, but it allowed him to shift his focus to The Good Human factory, whose mission is to inspire others to be aware of, and take better care of their mental health. He gives an amazing insight to the tools he has, and shares with others, to deal with adversity, through his workshops, and his own podcast, “Good Humans, with Cooper Chapman”. This is a powerful listen and message he is using his profile to share.

S2E06 - X Games and Nitro World Games announcer, Jimmy Coleman

S2E06 - X Games and Nitro World Games announcer, Jimmy Coleman

Jimmy Coleman started in the action sports world as a commentator in 1993. Since then, he has travelled the globe with the biggest events and best athletes on the planet, including the Winter and Summer X Games for the past 21 years, which has given him an incredible front row seat to some of the gnarliest moments in skate, BMX, FMX and snow history. If you have watched any of these sports and moments over the past 28 years, there is a good chance that Jimmy's voice stamp is on it. In 2016 he became one of the hosts for Nitro World Games, which is where the friendship between Jimmy and Browny formed. Like many in the live sports and entertainment industry, Jimmy's world was rocked by the Covid shut down of our industry. Jimmy put this time to good use though, not only starting his own baking business (this is not a joke), but dealing with some mental demons, which he had never properly dealt with. Jimmy was old school. Jimmy is now new school, and is going to be a leader in the action sports industry, when it comes to giving a voice to the mental health battles of many. His is a message of hope that there is better times out there, and that what is broken, can be fixed. Plenty of laughs, a few tears, but an all round great message from Jimmy, that Skip This is honored to share.
