The slime boys celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Kid, a true Slimehouse diamond in the rough and 90s time capsule that combines sci-fi action, zany slapstick, and a healthy dose of cyberpunk goop. 

Jasper, Jared, and Max arrive just in time for the 2022 holiday season to cover the forgotten 1998 Disney comedy and the podcast's first first Jonathan Taylor Thomas (JTT) vehicle.

The Slimehouse crew takes on their first Jackie Chan vehicle - the long forgotten 2004 adaptation of the Jules Verne novel.

We discuss how Turning Red's setting in the year 2002 gives it a distinct quality relative to other Slimehouse films discussed on the show, as a movie that somewhat reflects on coming of age in the Prime Slime era with tons of attitude to boot.

Slimehouse hits a slam dunk with Like Mike, the 2002 Lil' Bow Wow-starring sports fantasy full of junk food comas, scooter chases, basketball geometry lessons, and at its core, a genuinely effective underdog narrative.

Throwing order into chaos, by Nelson's birthday declaration we are skipping Home Alone 2 and going right into the all-timer, Home Alone 3. Featuring Alex D. Linz of Max Keeble fame, a young ScarJo, and some of the deadliest spies in the world, the stakes have never been higher and the slime has never been oozier. Special Guest: William Neal, editor and filmmaker extraordinaire, and die-hard fan of HA3.

For Jasper's birthday special this year, he's selected a movie near and dear to his car-obsessed childhood, The Love Bug (1968) and the Slimehouse reboot he never saw, Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005).

Join the party as the Slime boys chat about cars, urinating oil and Van Halen for a double feature that's got spunk in the trunk!

While the tagline may promise a PG, June's Slime Shuffle hands the Slimehouse crew a rare G-rated film with Disney's 1975 family western The Apple Dumpling Gang, a Proto-Slimer in the truest sense, as well as their very first R-rating, Richard Pryor's cul-de-sac comedy Moving. 

Slimehouse returns with a very special double feature looking at the first two Beethoven films, a influential and doggone wild pair of movies that shaped the canon of the 90s. Joined by Beethoven superfan Chad Rabago.

"That's a perfectly good trash can. Don't be throwing students at it."

Slimehouse winds the clock back 20 years to this Nickelodeon theatrical release, which combines science fiction pedigree, paintball, and a peak early aughts soundtrack to boot. 

We've dug deep into the Slimehouse vault and found 2 random movies to cover from the late 1980s and early 1990s: The Willies, starring Sean Astin, and Who's Harry Crumb, starring John Candy. Mayhem ensues!

"P-A-R-T-why? Because I gotta!" 

In this smokin' new episode, the Slime boys dive deep into one of Jim Carrey's breakout films that truly took the idea of a "live-action cartoon" to the next level, as well as it's notorious sequel that can only be described as the Slimehouse answer to Eraserhead. 

Can a robots quest of love and meaning be Slimehouse? The boys celebrate Valentine's Day by looking at Heartbeeps, the understated 1981 sci-fi  comedy flop starring Andy Kaufman and Bernadette Peters 💕

"Was that a ninja? More like a non-ja - terrible what passes for a ninja these days!"

A movie that sped right past movie theaters upon release but has gained a following upon its second lap, The Wachowski's Speed Racer is a visual fever dream that fits into the cartoon-come-to-life aesthetics of our genre. It's got a lot in common with the Star Wars prequels and the Robert Rodriguez movies visually, but a humor and style of its own. Oh, and a monkey named Chim-Chim. Enjoy the discussion!

"... Bonehead!"

Season 4 begins with an examination of the 1998 Eddie Murphy box office phenomenon and reimagining of the notorious 1967 flop. We discuss how the Betty Thomas film ushered in the commercial peak of Slimehouse, alongside a discussion of its 2001 sequel. 

"Are you out of your juice-drinking little minds?"

On our last Yuletide Slime episode for 2021, we uncover the oft-forgotten 2006 release "Unaccompanied Minors". Directed by Paul Feig in between his work on Freaks & Geeks and Bridesmaids, this swamp-era release carries a strong thematic resemblance to Home Alone, House Arrest, and other Slimehouse staples. And an extreme bobsledding scene. 

"Snow dad is better than no dad."

Joined by Bryan Hume, Slime Superfan and creator of the official Slimehouse website, the boys discuss one of their strangest films yet, 1998's tonal "slime sandwich" Jack Frost. Discussed along the way are the crucial importance of soundtrack to slime, Henry Rollins' acting career, and whether a movie that depends equally on both tearjerker moments and butt jokes can truly be considered a full-on Slime extravaganza. 

"I'll get the toy. I promise."

Another iconic Arnold role just in time for Christmas! It's a movie from right when Slimehouse was starting to hit the mainstream that satirizes the commercial madness of shopping for toys, but also foreshadows the rise of Black Friday and bum-rush shopping sprees. Sinbad and Schwarzeneggar face off with a large supporting cast including Jake Lloyd, Rita Wilson and Phil Hartman. Let the hijinks ensure, it's Turbo Time!

To begin this Yuletide Slime season, we take look at the holiday classic A Christmas Story, a movie which has a deep influence on the perspective and humor of what the Slimehouse genre would become. Last year, the host agreed that without Home Alone there would be no Slimehouse wave. But consider this, without A Christmas Story is there even a Home Alone?

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter's arrival in theaters by looking at the uniquely Slimehouse elements from both 2001's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and it follow-up 2002's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – both directed by genre pioneer Chris Columbus.

Joined by video essayist and Garfield scholar Quinton Reviews, the boys discuss the lasagna-loving feline's first foray onto the big screen in part 1 of a two-parter on the franchise. Discussed are the inherent flaws of a Garfield feature, Bill Murray's complicated relationship with the role, Chris Pratt's controversial recent casting, and lots and lots of Garfield lore.

A 30th anniversary special just in time for spooky season, we dive into our first entry from the Ernest franchise led by the late Jim Varney and featuring mild thrills and a snot-dripping troll named Trantor. Stay spooky, and stay stupid!

Kicking off another month of Spooky Slimehouse with an all-time classic that might be less slimey than it seems.

"Would you like to buy a monkey?"

Max's birthday is given the swashbuckling treatment as the boys, with special guest Dorothy, dive into the 1994 slime-adjacent Chris Elliott curio Cabin Boy. We discuss the film's uniquely kitschy aesthetic, Max's David Letterman fandom, and the film's possible influence on SpongeBob Squarepants - stopping along the way, of course, to marvel in awe at a Twin Peaks-era Russ Tamblyn as a sharkboy named Chocki. Join us as, we podcast and stink - mostly the latter.

A big happy birthday to Dorothy is celebrated in Burton-esque fashion with the proto-slime directorial debut starring Pee Wee Herman. We talk about the original breakfast machine, the joy of magic and joke gags, and the ever-present motif of the road movie, and determine this movie's role in the Slimehouse genre timeline. Enjoy!

For the latest Slime Shuffle, the goopy gods selected Firehouse Dog, a late-Slime dramedy that is equal parts dog farts, and good heart.

Joined by Myke Thompson of the Black Man in the Right World podcast, the team dives into the nitty gritty of pop-punk music cues, elementary cafeteria menus and ugly mutts.

"Shut up!" Joined by Princess Diaries superfan and frequent guest Dorothy Page, the boys discuss a rare G-rated feature for the pod, along with its unusual sequel.

In 1996 Danny DeVito, Roald Dahl, and Mara Wilson all coalesced into one of the most acclaimed and visionary 90s kids movies, MATILDA. With special guest Ryley Schlachter joining us, we discuss the merits of the movie from the Slimehouse perspective, including themes and topics like anti-authoritarianism, feminist messaging, empowerment from within, and the visual aesthetics that would leave a major influence on the genre to come. "I think, when you go to the movies, you should learn somethin'." Fresh off their Space Jam doubleheader, the gang discusses the Looney Tunes second foray into the cinematic sphere, Joe Dante's 2003 flop Looney Tunes: Back in Action. Though it may lack the box office success and millennial cult classic status of its predecessor, could it actually be Bugs and company's best turn on the big screen? 

The Slimehouse Crew returns to the Space Jam for A New Legacy... of IP. We discuss the new sequel to Space Jam, its development hell backstories in the 25 years it took to finally make the movie, and most importantly: whether the film carries on the grand Slime tradition of its predecessor.

A slam dunk of an episode with special guest Sam Schlenker as the Slime team looks at a millennial cult classic. 

"Cookies are for closers!"

Covering both a brand new release and its infamous predecessor, the enigma that is The Boss Baby, Alec Baldwin's meme-worthy role that became a surprise hit and a sleeper Oscar nominee in 2017. The series is back for more with "Family Business" now in theaters and streaming on Peacock Premium (who we'd welcome as a sponsor). Joined by Peewee Hermeneutics, we get into the slime merits of these neo-slime pictures, one of the most iconic moments in the entire Slimehouse genre, and the icky subtext that runs throughout the messy sequel. Oh, and plenty of business lingo!

"Hey, teacher! Leave them kids alone!" The Slimehouse gang kicks off the Summer of Slime with a Season 3 premiere discussion of Disney's Recess: School's Out. Along the way, we touch on Summer's role as the ultimate Slimehouse playground, the potential limitations of animation in Slime aesthetics, badass senior citizens, and the film's surprisingly moving depiction of adulthood. 

The Slimehouse crew looks back on the first two seasons of Slimehouse to reflect on the evolution of this series, as well as offer some revisions to Slime Scores and shout out listeners around the globe.

For this month's Slime Shuffle, the boys have landed on 1987's Three O'Clock High. The dark teen comedy is often forgotten, but influential on the peak Slimehouse narrative framework and visual perspective, despite its more mature voice and thrilling tone.

"Surf Wyoming!"

Celebrating Nelson's birthday with a blast from the past so diculous it's re-diculous! Meet the Deedles is a Disney produced diamond in the rough featuring a young Paul Walker and Steve Van Wormer as The Deedles, a boneheaded surfing duo who find themselves landlocked in Yellowstone National Park, and after a mistaken identity, find themselves put in charge of stopping the local prairie dog infestation. This movie is truly something else, and has been largely forgotten by time, but holds up some pretty key parts of the Slimehouse genre in its mayhem, making it a must for Slime fans.

"It's not a tumor!" The boys are joined by Schwrarzenegger aficionado Cole Sadler (AKA Peewee Hermeneutics) to tackle Ivan Reitman's action comedy classic Kindergarten Cop. In this wide-ranging conversation, they discuss the birth of the "Big Guy, Little Problems" subgenre of Slime, the decline of movie action involving children, and this film's crucial place in Arnold's development as a movie star. 

"I'm going to Disneyland!"

Slime Shuffle strikes again! This time, the random selection landed us on 2007's Balls of Fury, a late August release that was panned by the few people who bothered to see it. Since it was a new discovery for each of us, we get into how it does (or doesn't) resemble slimehouse, and the contingency of "Frat Pack" and Tenacious D inspired comedies of the late 2000s that were once ubiquitous and now harder to find.
