Zack Snyder has released his latest film on Netflix, Rebel Moon. He originally pitched his idea of this story to Lucasfilm many years ago as a Star Wars movie. Lucasfilm ultimately declined to move forward with the pitch, so Zack Snyder took it to Netflix were it was produced as a two-part movie. The first half has been released and, boy, are we thankful this isn't a Star Wars movie. In addition to our film review, we continue to hark on Hasbro and the executives making millions of dollars while thousands of their employees are laid off. When Disney purchased Lucasfilm, his focus shifted to the animated series, Star Wars Rebels. His next project was the live-action The Mandalorian with Jon Favreau where he wrote and directed several episodes. Most recently, he wrote every episode of Ahsoka, the Disney+ show, and directed two episodes. Now, he will be a part of all creative story decisions at the company as the Chief Creative Officer.

On this episode of the Smugglers' Galaxy podcast, Glen and Jason debate the remake idea and if it should move forward. Solo: A Star Wars did it when casting Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo - could they do it again to introduce a younger generation to the older movies?
Also, Hasbro unveiled several new figures and announced more as part of their pipeline reveal. The hosts discuss these new reveals and wonder what modern Star Wars collecting might be like in 2024.
All this plus news and pickups on the Smugglers' Galaxy Podcast!

#154: Lets talk Rebels!
#153: What Does an Ideal Crowdfunded Project Look Like?
The Haslab Ghost funded within days of being announced. With a 45-day window to back the project, it only needed five of those days. With such a successful start to the project, it begs the question - was the Ghost a good Haslab project? Haslab was created to provide fans the possibility to own dream collectables. For some, The Ghost is a dream vehicle to add to their collection. But if enough people support this right away, shouldn’t this just be a normally released vehicle? And if so, was the Rancor a better Haslab project because it didn’t get funded?
Glen and Jason discuss this and more on this episode of the Smugglers’ Galaxy podcast. There’s news about the Micro Galaxy Squadron line of vehicles, the identity of the actor who portrayed Willrow Hood in the Empire Strikes Back has been discovered, and Jason reveals a bump in the collecting road he experienced this week. Download and listen!

#151: VC66 - Mission Accomplished and The Ghost
It's a great day to celebrate on the Smugglers' Galaxy Podcast. First of all, San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) is happening and there is a ton of Star Wars collecting news coming out of it. Hasbro will release a The Vintage Collection Salacious Crumb on card back. That's right! They're going to rerelease VC66! Jason takes a moment to celebrate before moving on with the news and discussing the latest Haslab project, Hasbro's campaign funded toy. The Vintage Collection Ghost promises to be the largest vehicle produced by Hasbro since The Sail Barge. The Ghost, as seen in Star Wars Rebels, could come with four The Vintage Collection figures. Glen gushes his love for this project and hopes all tiers become unlocked.
⭐️#150: The Great GASWC Summer Social!⭐️
#149: Haslab and Revisiting the Special Editions
Hasbro teased new images this past week to suggest that the next Haslab is a Vintage Collection Ghost, a vehicle seen in Star Wars Rebels and the upcoming Ahsoka series on Disney+. Glen and Jason discuss what they want to see with this vehicle and what should be included in the tiers. Jason also picked up the Micro Galaxy Squadron version of the Marauder from the Bad Batch. From there, they discuss the changes to the Special Editions. For many of us, we’ve known the special editions more than we’ve known life without it. They remain divisive among Star Wars fans, too. Glen and Jason try to be subjective and determine if the changes in Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back added value to the story. In addition, they share the latest news and pick ups! Download and listen!
#148: Reviewing the Dial of Destiny!
Indiana Jones is back! But was his return to the big screen a mediocre outing or a return to form? On this episode of the Smuggler's Galaxy podcast, Glen enjoys some time away and Jason take control of the ship. With him, Jordan Ghastly joins the episode to review the latest outing of our favorite hero in a fedora. Jordan is a historian and has a unique perspective on the artifacts that Indiana Jones chases. Jason and Jordan first review the movie from a non-spoiler perspective, and dive into spoilers around the 1:00:38 mark. If you haven't seen the movie and wish to go in fresh, end the episode there and join us next week. BUT! If you've already seen the movie in the theater, be sure to stick around and get their unfiltered take on the movie.
As usual, we cover the latest Star Wars news, which includes action figures, and share out latest pickups. Jordan also points out a repurpose in the Indiana Jones toy line from a Star Wars figure.
#147: Getting into the World Between Worlds
In addition to this, Jason returns from a trip to Walt Disney World and shares his experience. Glen and Jason share their spoiler filled thoughts on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride. They also share their recent pickups and go through the latest Star Wars news!
#146: Where is Jason?
It’s a different perspective on the Smuggler’s Galaxy podcast! While Jason is on vacation, Glen brings in his wife, Mandi, to talk about her collection and the fun of being married to a Star Wars fan. Hear about her Ewoks, Gizmo, and E.T. focuses. Also, she tells us why she started collecting in the first place.
#145: The Return of Joefest!
Joefest is an annual toy show in Augusta, Ga., that, traditionally, was a GI Joe focused event. Over the years, the show has diversified and more brands of toylines have shown up, including custom products. On this episode of the Smuggler's Galaxy Podcast, Glen is back from this toy show and tell us what it was like to be there. How were the crowd levels? How were the prices of vintage Star Wars items? At the same time as Joefest, Jason attended a Georgia Alliance of Star Wars Collectors (GASWC) meetup. This is a monthly event where people who share the same Star Wars collecting passion meet up in the Atlanta area to hang out and share what they've been up to. This particular meet up was at Fernando's house, a GASWC member who makes an annual diorama for Toylanta.
Additionally, the two talk news, their latest pickups, and play a round of 20 Questions. Download and listen!
