To have vision requires courage, awareness, and consciousness. It means being switched on to all of life and being willing to engage with it.

We often forget about our innate resilience and ability to adapt and live, but this is who we are as a species – great learners and adapters. If life is knocking you about don’t seek to run away or cop out, adapt and live with every ounce of life within.

We live in such a noisy world and learning to be silent can at times seem impossible. However, there are numerous benefits to practicing silence such as gaining clarity, improved memory, relieving stress, stimulating brain growth, fighting insomnia and heightened sensitivity. Who wouldn’t want to be silent after learning that silence improves our living conditions and lengthens our life span!

While enjoying the perfection that is Disneyland and seeing the attention to detail and dedication that the employees show in creating a phenomenal experience for visitors, I had to wonder how they manage to show-up daily and help create the fantasy of Disney even while enduring hardships in their personal lives. That’s why it’s imperative to show compassion to others, especially those we whom we encounter briefly. We never know what their personal struggles are and compassion lets them know we understand who they are even if we don’t know the details for their lives.

After viewing Irises by Van Gogh at the Getty Centre, I was reminded about the power of living mindfully and with awakened attention. This is how we live in technicolour and raise our consciousness and connection with life.

Do you guard your heart, afraid of the pain of being hurt? Often our thinking and experience of love is entrenched in fear and the prevention of pain, and we don’t give ourselves fully to those whom we love. If you wish to live in the energy of love, you need to unguard your heart and live with arms wide open.

If the plants in your garden were to die you would stop watering them. However, in our lives we continue to pour all our energy and hope into situations that have died and that we need to leave behind. Stop watering the dead flowers in your life and turn what’s dead into compost, deal with the pain and move on in your life.

After standing at the roadside supporting athletes in the Malibu Triathlon, I was reminded again how important it is to get into the race and not give up. Every kind of person with ranging abilities and strengths participated and regardless of their experience or limitations, they chose to be in the race and give their best. This is indicative of how life is. Don’t be afraid thinking you can’t do it or you’re not good enough. Run your race and give your best, and even though at times you may ache this too shall pass, so don’t give up.

We all set goals and challenges for ourselves in life, but do you ever challenge yourself to explore your inner space and raise your energetic vibration. We often say we want to experience more joy, love, peace, abundance but we can’t experience more of something that’s already infinitely present for us to have. You have to challenge yourself and align to the vibration of your desires and inhabit them fully.

In case of an emergency when flying the instruction is to put on our face mask and then help any accompanying passengers. When we face a crisis in our daily lives this is precisely how we need to react – first care for ourselves and then care for others. We can never help others if we don’t first help ourselves in case of an emergency.

Ironically, we often judge a person’s wealth by the physical trappings of their lives, but wealth and abundance always starts within and manifests outward. Poverty is a state of mind because we can have every possession we desire but be impoverished emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Often we have a sense of lack because something we want is missing from our lives and we fail to realise that we have everything we need.

When speaking the same language we can often misunderstand one another but when we learn to speak the language of love with intent and purpose we break down barriers between each other.

Following on from day 337 and the story of hummingbird. This snippet looks at the microcosm surrounding the agave stalk and how it’s indicative of our daily lives. We often fear that there won’t be enough for everyone and have systems in place that are more exclusive than inclusive. The land of milk and honey exists for all of us, and that’s the very flow of life itself.

In this snippet, I share an example of how I mistakenly created misinformation for myself that I and everyone around me believed was true. This honest mistake was a reminder not to believe everything you hear, even if it comes from a reputable source. We are responsible for what we choose to believe, and we are responsible for checking our facts. If we hear the same message repeatedly, it does not mean it’s true. Words become things, and we owe it to ourselves to check the validity of the words we speak about and too ourselves, what we talk about with others and the words we consume in our daily lives.

While in transit for 26 hours to Los Angeles, I was reminded again how much I love to travel the world and how travel is life’s greatest teacher. Bruce Chatwin said, “The real home of man is not his house but the road. Life itself is a travel that has to be done by foot.” It’s unlikely that we will all start to travel by foot, but if we intended to slow down, pay attention to everything around us and live with openhearted wonder our connections to ourselves and one another would deepen and our growth would be exponential.

To be present in life is the best gift you can give yourself. Often it is only after we emerge from a traumatic experience that we realise we have lost ourselves somewhere in life and wonder where we’ve gone. It is through learning to be present (listen for tips) that we master the art of connecting and remaining connected to ourselves. Our lives are not lived in the past, future or other people’s business, they’re lived now, present where we are.

How you spend your days is how you spend your life. So if you want an extraordinary experience, start taking those actions today. Your life won’t be wonderful one day when, because life is happening now, so create the life you want tomorrow with your actions of today.

Do you say yes to life and live with arms wide open, or do you choose to stand with your arms folded facing the corner, and then wonder why your life is letting you down? Open your mind and say yes to life it’s waiting to be lived fully through you and me. Let’s not allow the opportunity and blessing to pass us by.

Learning to live with ease is a choice and discipline. We are programmed from childhood to believe that life is hard, we need to struggle and hustle and make it work, but this is not true. To live with ease doesn’t mean you won’t face struggles, pain and heartache, it does mean you’re able to navigate all hurdles by stepping intentionally into ease and creating power and freedom for yourself.

As I began to love myself is a poem accredited to Charlie Chaplin supposedly written for his 70th birthday. This is not the case, and the author is unknown, but nevertheless, this poem resonates deeply. The author eloquently captures the essence of the human experience and the lessons they learned in life. As I began to love myself and live in compassionate kindness towards myself, I've learned this is the path to a happy, authentic, fulfilled life, even though it's not always "easy."

Do you respect your boundaries? Not the ones you have established to the outer world, but the ones you’ve created for yourself. In this context the boundaries we create for ourselves are those positive behaviours we want to reenact in our lives to develop self-mastery. Often we don’t respect our boundaries or agreements we’ve made with ourselves and this results in self-loathing, but when we master ourselves in love, we can master the universe. A great life consists of millions of tiny acts, so act in small ways that empower your fabulous life.

What goals do you have in life and how will you feel when you accomplish them? Often we believe that once we’ve achieved something then our goal is accomplished but often feel unsatisfied within. Abraham Hicks says, “You think that the goal is to be over there, and we say the goal is the journey over there; the goal is the fun you have along the way on your way to over there.” In life, the goal is the journey. Always. We are in the circle of life that never ends, so to make a goal out of a fixed point or object will always bring dissatisfaction. Our whole life is the goal, and how we choose to live it will be our reality.

Is it time to love what you hate? In life, there are so many tiny things that we 'hate.' For e.g. I hate cleaning, you hate traffic, she hates pumpkins, he hates barking dogs. And so it escalates, all the little things we hate compound into larger things to hate. Before you know it we're drowning in hatred for ourselves and one another that we can't see our ways clear of. We are very selective of the things and tasks we find love worthy, but let's stop being hypocrites within ourselves and be accountable for our attitudes in the small moments as well as the life-defining moments. That is how you start to love what you hate, through the attitude you bring to the small moments of your life that compound into a love-filled life.

Ego can ruin your life when you’re so attached to your egoic projection into the world that you can’t separate yourself from it or aren’t willing to change. The worst thing anyone can say to you is “stay exactly as you are.” Although people don’t think about what they’re saying, they wish that you never change, and this is to become stuck in one version of who you are and not to change and grow. The ego seeks to keep us stuck, this is why changing habits can be impossible at times, but change is constant as is growth, so don’t let your ego ruin your life through stagnation.

When you live in the now in a state of conscious presence, the trickster mind often tries to distract you with thoughts that take you out of presence into past of future illusions. We live in a time when everyone seems to be offended at everything. People mistakingly believe that the ability to formulate an argument and defend its position is equivalent to consciousness and enlightenment. It’s not. Noticing people’s differences and becoming offended by them only means you’ve not healed your own life’s trauma. Each of us is free to choose our response to life in any way we choose, the question is, “will being offended be right for you or make you right?” It’s highly unlikely but yes, being offended at everything is an option if you want a miserable life.

While watching a spectacular fireworks display, I stood next to a man who watched the light fantastic exploding in the sky through his small phone screen. This reminded me that perspective in life is everything. We can have a broad perspective of life or a restrictive one, and this directly informs our experience of reality. Then the question arises which version of reality is real?
