20: Writing Email Content that Converts: An Interview with Email copyrighter and strategist Joanne Homestead- Part 2

20: Writing Email Content that Converts: An Interview with Email copyrighter and strategist Joanne Homestead- Part 2

Email copyrighter and strategist, Joanne Homestead, is back to talk about content for your email.

It’s so important that your email offers true value in order to connect with your audience. Joanne discusses the power of storytelling to create real resonance. Tell stories about yourself, your successes, and your mistakes. Your audience will especially relate to you when you share your vulnerability.

Don’t want to sound too sales-y? No one does! Ask yourself: Does this align with my values? Does this feel good to me? Am I selling with integrity? Does it sound like I’m talking to an individual person on the other side?

Joanne has lots of great advice and some tips I’d never thought about until now. Formatting, using exclamation marks, too many CTA’s (calls to action)…so much to learn. And it’s all in today’s episode.

19: How Do You Build an Email List From Nothing? with email marketing strategist Joanne Homestead, Part 1

19: How Do You Build an Email List From Nothing? with email marketing strategist Joanne Homestead, Part 1

Do you want to start an email campaign but feel overwhelmed about how to begin? You’ll want to listen

to today’s podcast with Joanne Homestead.

Joanne’s an email copywriter who is passionate about quality copywriting and email strategies. She was

an elementary teacher for 15 years and those teaching skills serve her today while working with clients.

During the pandemic, she decided to leave her position as an elementary teacher and became a virtual

assistant. Joanne realized many clients were overwhelmed and too scattered to even recognize exactly

where they needed help. Breaking things down into steps makes everything much easier.

She’s here today to offer some great tips on how to begin an email campaign one digestible step at a

time. How do you build an email list from nothing? It takes work. It will not grow overnight and don’t

believe people who promise that. There are no shoulds, have to’s, or musts. If a strategy doesn’t feel

comfortable to you, don’t do it.

I love her insights: Know that email lists are connections to actual people who signed up because they

want to learn from you. They’re individuals with hopes and dreams. Don’t get detached from them

when they’ve expressed a desire for a connection by signing up for your email.

Joanne talks about some great strategies, but they start with identifying your purpose or goal. Why do

you even want an email list? To generate leads? To increase visibility? Knowing your Why is your first

step. Listen in to learn what’s next!

9: Business Owner Burnout: What it is, and what to do when it happens to you.

Burnout is real for business owners, and if you are finding yourself suddenly on the struggle bus in your business, it might just be happening to you.  Burnout drains us, exhausts us, and leaves us struggling to complete the tasks we once loved in our businesses.  It hurts our success; plain and simple. Because let's face it.  It's not possible to be at your most productive and profitable in your business if you have nothing left to give.

Burnout is a serious issue we face as business owners because we tend to push themselves incredibly hard. We have so much passion for our business and faith in its growth that inevitably we will burn out. And when we do, it can impact relationships with our employees, clients, and customers, and overall hurt your business growth. So if this sounds like a whole lot of you, then tune in.  This episode is all about burnout: how to know if it's happening to you, and what to do when you're feeling burned out.
