Is 40 The New 30? ft. Lindsay

Is 40 The New 30? ft. Lindsay

It’s often said these days that 40 is the new 30; and women are proving this true by doing all the things they did in their third decade, including getting pregnant. Planned pregnancies among 40-year-olds are more prevalent than ever and women are proud of this! Reasons they give for their choice are that they are  more mature, more patient, have more stable relationships and are better off financially.

Studies suggest that children of older moms are more likely to be better behaved, well socialized, and emotionally healthy. However, conception at age 40 is much more difficult and miscarriages much more common. Today Lindsay is going to tell us what it is like going through fertility treatment in your 40s.

This had devastating effects on the mental health of thousands of fertility patients across the country. Since March, the recommendations have been updated several times and patients are now able to resume treatment but in a very different manner. In this first episode of 'Everybody's Getting Pregnant But Me!' Jen Marsh, a licensed clinical psychologist, specializing in the treatment of infertility patients, will discuss how the COVID pandemic has affected the mental health of infertility patients.
