Season 3: Episode 4 In Memorandum
This episode is a tribute to a long-time contributor to the Weekend Write-In, Christine Larsen. Christine passed away in June from lung cancer. In this episode we share some of our favourite stories by Christine, highlighting her family, her sense of humour and her life in Southern Australia. She will be missed by people all over the world.

Søvn Drake and John Nedwill are back to kick off a third season of the Weekend Write-In Podcast. They decided to reboot the old format with new music, critiques, and a varied production schedule. And despite giving up on a dedicated Valentine’s Day episode, they still managed to collect some seasonal stories with diamonds and sweethearts for episode 1a.

Ooorah's captain Jinn Tiole joins John and Søvn to discuss writing science fiction. Episode 11; Stories With A Twist
In this episode, John Nedwill and Søvn Drake interview authors Mike Miller (authormsmiller), Paul Westley, and Tom Walborn to explore the delight of short stories that end in with an unexpected plot twist. We will then hear five short stories inspired by those cool September days when school aught to be starting.

In this episode of the Weekend Write-In podcast, we will explore the topic of creating characters in flash fiction with authors Joyce Holt, Tom Walborn and Lamplighter1890. Then we shall hear six flash fiction stories as read by the authors themselves. Meanwhile, Søvn Drake and John Nedwill ponder supervillains.
Episode 9: Fast and Furious
In this episode we will discuss flash fiction with some of the weekend write-in regulars: Tom Walborn, Joyce Holt, and Christine Larsen. Then we shall hear five short stories. Fast and Furious describes how the gods might feel when they are fooled. Or when a fight breaks out in an Irish pub. How a car thief might woo his love. Such excitement might require the right medications to take it down a notch. Or seven. But not before we hear about a cat named Speedy (and Christine Larsen’s sexy black cat suit).
Episode 8: Going Too Far
John Nedwill and Søvn Drake pass the time during quarantine considering dirty limericks and the merit of breaking and entering. And along the way you can listen to six flash fiction stories that answer the following questions:
How far would a God-fearing woman go to win a pie baking contest?
How far would a mad man go to get the woman he loves?
How far can you make it in the world if you are as small as a bug?
How far would two samurais will 'Go' to escape a dishonorable death?
How far would two adventurers go to right a wrong during the pandemic?
And how far would a hardened criminal go to get even with his partner in crime?
Again and again the answer is: Too Far

In this episode, we will interview author Jenni Clarke before finding out what happens when a sharp-dressed man is late. We shall go drinking at an intergalactic bar, venture out onto on thin ice, sentence a criminal with rhymes, and go for a fast drive with werewolves.
And finally we shall warn you about what might happen when your spouse is suddenly home all the time.
We may have also included some jokes in an attempt to lighten the mood, even if some people find them Not Funny.

In the fourth episode of the Weekend Write-In Podcast we interview our prompt master Paul Westley and learn his secret method of generating our group's weekly prompts. Then, on to six short stories forging for a frenzy of February feelings in which we shall learn why the mathematics professor is so angry, experience the seduction of a life of drugs, wonder if a monk will sacrifice his principles to escape loneliness, feel the irritation of bad company in close quarters, reminisce with Australians about the last big fires, and end with a devilish cupid’s tale in time for Valentine’s day.
