60: Testing beyond the model form

When carrying out inspection and testing work it is easy to be persuaded into just carrying out the necessary tests required to fill in all those lovely little boxes on your certification modelled to BS 7671.

However there are some tests which we should always be considering which are not given in the BS 7671 model, but are given in the BS 7909 model.. why is this and why is it so important that we always consider it?

Well I had an example of this with a client just recently so thought now would be a good time to bring it up.

59: What is e5?

It's been a couple of months break while I have enjoyed taking part with the e5 group on building up our podcast together, but it is time to put some work back into the SparkyNinja one.

The e5 podcast will carry on, but there is so much to talk about from a training and development perspective and the SparkyNinja journey that both podcasts are going to be full of information.

Be sure to catch the e5 podcast on all platforms as well.

#SparkyNinja #Free #Electricians #CPD

When I went to a recent Elex I spoke with the people on the CONNEXBOX stall to talk about how they have innovated on methods for the newer small profile Wago devices to fit within their existing and upcoming WAGOBOX.

In this video I briefly discuss the issue and show what CONNEXBOX have done to assit with this - this video is to raise awareness in case you are not aware of these inserts that CONNEXBOX provide, in which case you may risk non compliance with BS 7671.

57: Testing Hager RCCBs/RCDs UPDATE!

#SparkyNinja #Electricians #Free #CPD #18thEdition There has been some confusion and frustration with regards to testing Hager RCCB's after they chose t ocomply with BS EN 6008 with an alternative method of requirement to the norm - namely to 250mA test current.  Electricians have been asking questions about how to test these devices and therefore Hager have announced a change to try to make the devices more suitable for the UK market.
