Spiel Of Time - A Wheel Of Time Podcast

In this bumper episode, we finally make it to the end of the book and everything starts coming together. We discuss the titular and elusive Eye of the World and discover it's importance. Just when we think all will be ok some real bad boys appear and mess it all up. There are several fights, some tragedies and an appearance from the Dark One himself, even Rand's mum tries to get in on the action. 

As the book comes to a close we discover the set up for the next book hiding in an unexpected place and all our characters start laying out their next steps. 

Whilst this is the end of this book, we look to be back in the new year with a special episode to wrap up our thoughts on this book, and Chris will lay out his theories on what will happen in the next book.

We enter the Blight and it seems to be as miserable, disgusting and terrifying as everybody had feared it would be. Amongst the insidious creatures our intrepid heroes march forth to try and find the Eye of the World. We discuss the sudden similarities between Lan and Perrin and the fledgling romance between Lan and Nynaeve is quashed, in a scene that for some reason we decide to act out. We round out our chapters discussions with the sudden and welcome appearance of the Green Man. Chris also has a final say on his predictions for the finale of this book.

This week our heroes make it into Fal Dara where King Alan receives a warm welcome from almost everybody, we are introduced to Lord Agelmar who helps introduce us to life in the Borderlands, and the mysterious beggar, who has been following from the shadow, is is finally thrust into the light.

In the second chapter, we discuss the sad story of King Alan and find out more about the harrowing journey of the nefarious beggar.

Oh Baby, it's a triple! This week we discuss Egwene and Rand's tenuous relationship,  an old face revisits the boys dreams, and we get stuck into what it's like to travel through the ways. Nynaeve's attitude is discussed once again in Chris' new segment and we get some answers as to how the Dark Ones forces are able to be wherever our heroes are.  However we also have some more questions about a suspicious figure that seems to be following them.

In the first of this weeks chapters, the boys discuss Whitecloaks and happy reunions, whilst Chris unveils a new segment he calls "Oh F*** Off Nynaeve".

The reunion is cut short by Mat's dire condition and leads us into our second chapter which covers simmering jealousies between Egwene and Rand and the explanation of a magical form of travelling, The Waygates.

In our first chapter this week the boys discuss Rand and his adventures in Caemlyn, the beggar reappears and we finally get a glimpse of Logaine. The second episode has a lot of clueless Rand, who seems to have no idea about anything in the world and Chris and Tom almost come to blows over a very minor issue, and we learn a lot about the dynamics of the Royal family of Andor.

This week the boys finally finish up their long and arduous journey to Caemlyn. On the last stretch of the road, after a near miss with a fade, they meet a very talkative farmer who helps us to understand some of what has been going on in Caemlyn recently. 

In the second chapter our boys explore Caemlyn itself and search for some help in their journey from an old friend of Thom's, a fat innkeeper (YAY!), who explains some of Thom's history, but does it make Chris trust him anymore?

Finally, Rand goes to the library for some quiet time and discovers our boy Loial who has lots to tell us about how the world works.

It's a three chapter bonanza this week, due to some time wimey confusion and an ongoing travelling theme. The lads discuss Mat's dagger and the ever darkening effect it seems to be having on his mood, the rare and considerably worse version of plump landlords, Skinny Innkeepers, lightning strikes and Darkfriend threats.

Another week and another double chapter, in the first chapter the boys discuss slow travelling, wolfy powers and the introduction of steddings plus Perrin has potentially his best idea yet. 

For the second chapter we get in to Perrin and his axe, White Cloaks and a big old brawl. Also Chris works on some new voices for all the characters.

In their eagerness to finish this book, the boys rattle off two chapters this week and with the first discuss Dancing Girls, Wolf Pack News, dreams and possibly the best name for a punk band.

In this weeks episode, Rand, Mat and Thom finally make it into Whitebridge. Chris and Thom discuss Gelb and Domon, Mat's attitude and Thom's history.

We also get some shocking news from elsewhere in the Wheel of Time world and some more info about The Great Hunt of the Horn, and our three chaps find out they are still being hunted! Perhaps the most interesting discussion point of all is that they receive all this information from another Fat Innkeeper!

It's a hot one for the lads this week but they buckle down to discuss The Travelling People. This chapter leads to conversations about how Perrin's ability works, whether or not Tom is 'The Dog Guy', and some insight into the Tinkers.

This week, as the title suggests we have a strong #boatlife vibe running through this episode, we discuss another blooming dream sequence, The Great Serpent and a LOT of innuendo. Chris has a newish theory to explain his Thom dislike, Gelb is making no friends and Rand suffers from temporary madness.

It's a drunk episode this week, which leads to Chris being a bit offensive towards Tom and his perfect boy Perrin. There's some renewed hatred for Egwene and a wolfy boy is revealed!

Also, in a change from the usual Tom's Teaser, we have a Chris' Conundrum, all about time when the power might have been used.

In the first chapter of this weeks episode our heroes are under attack from a sentient fog, Tom is delighted to get a POV from his avatar in this novel, the simple minded giant, Perrin. 

Chris accuses several characters of being idiots, and in a surprise twist one of these people is Egwene, plus there is a questionable accent thrown about in relation to new character Captain Doman. 

In the second of this weeks chapters, Tom is impressed with Chris' sudden interest in research, as we get a POV chapter from Nynaeve.

We have yet another conversation about the hierarchy of evil as a new faction is mentioned, and some revelations about power usage.

In this weeks Chap's Chapter Chat, Mat is suddenly struck by his connection to history, a sleek fat man called Mordeth appears to wreak havoc on the boys and we mention very topcial 20 year old film references. 

Chris isn't quite over the Nynaeve hate which now includes an impression, and starts branching out towards other team members, spawning our spin off podcast, The Incel Podcast.

This week we find that Nynaeve has changed her approach towards the Aes Sedai which calls into question her motives, and a really brief discussion about the best super powers, and how trollocs and Mydraals are linked.

Also in this chapter there are a lots of battle cries and trolloc attacks, as well as a pretty nifty board game analogy. Tom's teaser this week is a discussion about how the power works within this series.

Another episode and another excruciating attempt at "Pre-Episode Banter", plus the folks from Emond's field finally let their hair down, with stories, music and dancing. 

In a new addition to Thom =Darkfriend, Chris' latest claim is that Rand=Idiot but Tom jumps to his defence. 

The Myrdraal makes an appearance and Chris confuses Eyeless with Hairless and there is a very subtle nod to Lan being a wolf.

We are back and this week we are discussing all things Nynaeve - which leads to a particularly angry rant from Chris. 

In several recurring theme Chris also thinks he has found more evidence for some of his more outlandish theories - Thom = Darkfriend and Lan = Werewolf.

A potential new host tries to muscle in on the action and we introduce a new (intermittent?) segment - Tom's Teaser.

This week we spend a large chunk of the episode discussing the many snippets of prophecy we get from a new character, Min, the 'sniveling coward' Padan Fain makes a reappearance and Rand goes all agro on the Whitecloaks. 

Also, Tom is suffering from a cold, and due to some kind of fever dream tells Chris that he is impressed with some of his predictions so far.

This week we discuss a lot of normal situations in the Wheel of Time, such as bath time, food names and sleeping arrangements. Unfortunately for Chris, this conversation leads straight into a dream sequence. However, this one seems to make more sense.

We also get a conversation around Rand's parentage and Chris is finally proven wrong on one of his favorite theories.

The Thom hate continues this week, with Chris disparaging everything he does and for some reason Tom defending his actions. There is a chat about Egwene's inner turmoil over which faction she wants to be a part of - the Two Rivers or the Aes Sedai.

Meanwhile, the Two Rivers boys are having second thoughts about their journey and Rand puts himself at risk by eavesdropping on Moiraine.

Eventually, the gang make it to Baerlon but all is not as safe as it seems, as we are introduced to the Children of the Light.

This week we discuss what Moiraine is ethically capable of and get a bit of an insight into how her magic works. The ferryman regrets his decision to transport the gang across the river. 

Chris expresses his severe dislike of one particular character, despite Toms protestations, and Egwene is recruited by the Aes Sedai.

We're back again and this weeks episode starts with a spooky and extremely confusing dream sequence. Which leads Chris in circles trying to explain to Tom a theory that he doesn't even understand himself.

Chris becomes convinced that the volcano man makes an appearance in the dream.

Back in the real world of the book, a generic angry mob forms for story time with Moiraine, and Chris and Tom discuss the risk vs cost of using an Aes Sedai for seemingly trivial injuries.

We can only apologise for the lack of episodes and updates however we finally return after an unexpectedly long absence due to an unexpectedly busy Christmas period. 

In this episode Chris and Tom discuss the aftermath of the Trolloc attack on the people of Emond's Field and cast aspersions upon both Egwene's and Padan Fain's innocence.

We also finally get an explanation for the recurring tornado, which Tom really has to force Chris to discover.

Its the most action packed chapter yet as Chris and Tom discuss the possibility of pirate swords in a high fantasy setting, partake in some extremely poor Trolloc impressions and Chris gets banned from Google.

Chris gets massively tested on his pronunciation whilst Tom spends the whole episode pointing things out and then providing absolutely no context. We move away from our previously advertised episode of 2 chapters this week as Tom and Chris just could not stop talking. This week we discuss Chapter 3, with cryptic radishes and massively clichéd characters. The eternal shame of shouting when a room goes silent and Chris (in a  recurring theme) struggles with basic comprehension.

The first couple of chapters run riot with Game of Thrones and Lord of the Ring similarities. Chris struggles with many, many pronunciations and remembering basic facts from mere seconds ago. We are introduced to a brand new wrong 'un and a girthy mayor. In the book the men struggle to contain their delight over some dynamite baked goods and there is some additonal confusion over certain characters ages.

Tom and Chris begin their journey through this epic book series with some very swift introductions and then get straight into the action with the Prologue of The Eye of the World. Chris overuses the word intriguing and learns the difference between vegetables and parts of the body whilst Tom attempts to correct him on who is or is not a volcano.
