Life is happening FOR me, not to me. (Spiritually Fit Yoga by Amelia Andaleon)

Yoga Nidra - A Guided Meditation for Yogic Sleep and Deep Relaxation (Spiritually Fit Yoga with Amelia Andaleon)

Meditation to Create Space for Stillness and Calm (Spiritually Fit Yoga with Amelia Andaleon)
Welcome to the Spiritually Fit Yoga podcast! Amelia Andaleon Spiritually Fit Yoga, podcast host Connect/ DM me on instagram @spirituallyfityoga ========================= A Visit from St. Nicholas BY CLEMENT CLARKE MOORE 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds; While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow, Gave a lustre of midday to objects below, When what to my wondering eyes did appear, But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer, With a little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name: "Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!" As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky; So up to the housetop the coursers they flew With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too— And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot; A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack. His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow; The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face and a little round belly That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself; A wink of his eye and a twist of his head Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose; He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight— “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

"Don't Quit Before the Miracle" - Addiction, Recovery, Yoga. Spiritually Fit with Max Fusaro
Welcome to Season 5 of Spiritually Fit Yoga!  Enjoying getting Spiritually Fit with Max Fusaro! About Max Fusaro: Max Fusaro is an addict who has been in recovery for over 4 years now. His story is full of high highs and low lows, countless attempts at sobriety followed by relapses, struggles, and years of false hope, followed by an eventual triumph, long term recovery. Max discovered the life changing practice of yoga in rehab in 2015. He wasn’t ready to recover at that moment in time, but he felt yoga’s ability to transform and knew the practice would be there for him when he was ready. In 2018, at another rehab Max found himself in yet another yoga class and knew this time around something was different. After exiting that rehab, he found the connection and community thru yoga that would help save his life. In 2019 he became an RYT 200 and teaches to that same community today, Baptiste Power Yoga Affiliate “Hot Yoga Revolution” in Cranford & Metuchen, New Jersey. After joining Hot Yoga Revolution and discovering for himself just how empowering and transformational yoga & community can be, Max quickly realized that others in Recovery could benefit from the practices of yoga and meditation and the power of community. Max is continuously searching for new ways to help others in recovery from addiction and/or alcoholism. He speaks at rehabs and detox centers on a weekly basis sharing his experience, strength, and hope with others in early sobriety. He began to lead a “Yoga for Recovery” class which aimed to give people in Recovery a safe space to share, heal, build community, and flow together. The class begins with a 30-minute Recovery based discussion followed by a 60-minute heated vinyasa yoga practice. About Eleni Genagritis: "Ever since I was a little girl, I witnessed my mother (my super hero) a Registered Nurse & single mother juggle caring for me and her patients and saw many times she overlooked her health in the process. It was difficult to watch my mom succumb to unhealthy habits and overall not feel healthy and happy herself; even though she tried her best to nurse me and her patients to health. Admiring my mother’s passion for nursing others sparked my desire to become a nurse. In nursing school, I fully became aware of the constant battle between nursing myself and nursing my patients, empathizing with my mother and other healthcare professionals. Most of the time, I would choose my health last and it was not until I noticed the remarkable difference of the care I provided for my patients when I cared for myself where I knew something needed to be done! I coined a term with my nursing friends, Michelle and Diana— “(M)ursing before Nursing” to promote care for (ME-the nurse) before caring for others. I then presented this concept at a Summit in Ohio on Promoting Health and Resilience for Healthcare Professionals. I felt and still feel ignited and passionate about this topic of spreading awareness on all the benefits of promoting health for nurses especially when I saw how my fellow nursing student friends also struggled with their self care rituals. I desire more than anything else to create a healing space for nurses to connect to one another and most importantly connect with their mind, body, and spirit and become the lights for other nurses to do the same." Meditation: Setting Your Intention, Sankalpa. Repeat daily for 30 days.
Welcome to Spiritually Fit Yoga! Setting intentions, or you sankalpa, is a powerful way to practice spiritual fitness.  This meditation not only allows you to cultivate a mindset of focus and clarity, it also creates a habit to relax and body and mind, and from that relaxed state, focus on your intention. Consider repeating this meditation daily, at the same time every day, and observe what happens.  When setting your intention, see yourself as your highest and brightest self, and serving the highest good.  Adding these elements to setting my intentions is my "secret sauce" to leading a purposeful life. Acts of Kindness Meditation - Infused with Reiki Healing Energy

Having a Whale of a Time! Spiritually Fit with Greg McCormack!
Welcome to Spiritually Fit Yoga! Enjoy this episode! Biography for Greg McCormack Greg grew up exploring the rural woodlands in the Farmington River area of Connecticut, and the shorelines of LaJolla, California. His passion for the marine environment flourished when he got scuba certification in his teen years and went on to work summers at the Catalina Island Marine Institute. Greg received his Bachelor of Science degree from Humboldt State University after transferring from UC San Diego. Driven by a desire to connect people with the outdoors, he has worked as park ranger in many of the nations most iconic parks, including Grand Canyon, Everglades, Hawai’i Volcanoes, Denali, Mount Rainier, Olympic and others. Southeast Alaska’s vast wilderness inevitably stole his heart when he first arrived in 1994 as a guide aboard a 36-passenger expedition vessel. He spent many summers there leading clients on sea kayak and river rafting trips. He branched out as an expedition leader, lecturer and Zodiac driver on dozens of trips to the Arctic, Antarctic, Sea of Cortez, and Caribbean. As a Divemaster, he has led divers in the turquoise South Pacific waters of Polynesia, Melanesia, Micronesia and Indonesia. Greg did a couple of stints for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, working as a marine educator in the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary and recently the Greater Farallones NMS in San Francisco at Crissy Field in the Presidio. Greg has done volunteer work all of his life, including the last 8 years as a guide at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. He did a 6-week long stint two years ago as an albatross census counter for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Midway Atoll in Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument in the northwestern Hawaiian Islands. Outside of work, Greg can be found trail running in the park districts near his home in Monterey, California. He enjoys active vacations with his touring bicycle, logging many thousands of miles in many of the 91 countries he has visited. Invite a Veteran to Yoga - It Could Save Their Life. Spiritually Fit with Dan Nevins!
Welcome to Spiritually Fit Yoga! Today's guest is Dan Nevins, veteran, master storyteller and yoga teacher. Dan shares his riveting story which inspires military and civilians around the world.  You will hear how he stays spiritually fit and requests: "Invite a veteran to yoga, it could save their life." Dan Nevins is a professional speaker who has been inspiring audiences around the world with his message of perseverance, resiliency and hope for more than a decade, and has been featured on the Steve Harvey Show, Good Morning America, BuzzFeed, Fox News, CBS News and ABC News among others. A highly decorated soldier, Dan was severely injured during combat in Iraq in 2004 after an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated beneath his vehicle. He lost both legs below the knee, and lives with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and the emotional wounds of war. Dan credits Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) with his successful rehabilitation, which instilled a “can-do” attitude, positive outlook and passion for helping his fellow wounded warriors. He quickly became an advocate for the organization, inspiring both his peers and the public to create positive change for themselves and those around them, simply by sharing his powerful story.  In 2014, Dan discovered the life-changing power of yoga and meditation, which has enabled him to heal from the invisible wounds of war in a way that nothing else could. He quickly realized that other wounded warriors could benefit from yoga in the same way and knew he had to become an instructor. Dan began teaching yoga in 2015, and is now a Tier 3 Certified Baptiste Yoga Influencer. Dan incorporates the notion of “yoga for every-body” into his speeches and classes, encouraging people from all walks of life – and veterans in particular – to take up the practice. Dan is continuously searching for new ways to help other veterans. He is passionate about his work with Wounded Warrior Project and Warrior Spirit Retreat, a non-profit that he founded, which empowers warriors to greater possibilities by providing them with new tools for healing from the invisible wounds of war. Release and Allow - a meditation. And, gratitude to all of you on New Year's Eve 2020!
Wow, it's FINALLY the last day of the year!  I decided to record a bonus episode to say thank you to all of you, read a few reviews, and lead a meditation to release 2020 (or whatever you isn't serving you) and create space for your intentions, and allow life to unfold.  The mantra for this meditation is: RELEASE and ALLOW May there be balance and harmony in this moment. I offer my intentions to benefit the highest good. 2020 was a doozy and I have to say one thing I am grateful for is the creation of this podcast and a new way for me to connect with you and be of service through yoga, meditation, and guest interviews.  I am ready to release what doesn't serve me and allow myself to be in the flow of 2021.
