This House Is Clean (Poltergeist, 1982)
We discuss the 1982 horror classic, Poltergeist. And more specifically, we discuss strange decisions like sending away your child alone in a taxi, giving your child the most terrifying clown, and letting your child ride a kitchen ghost luge. And that's in addition to continuity errors, a lack of tech understanding, and logical flubs pertaining to property development. Pec-Off: Alien Xenomorph v. The Thing
It's a Pec-Off between two legendary sci-fi movie villains. In one corner, we have a xenomorph queen and a xenomorph soldier from 1979’s Alien and 1986’s Aliens. In the opposite corner The Thing from The Thing (1982) and The Thing (2011). Yup, they did that. We loved having Ron from Barrel Aged Flicks as our special guest! Bloody Pickle (Bad Santa, 2003)
'Tis the season to be a selfish, grifting mess. Bad Santa (2003) is the story of a conman whose life takes a turn for the better when he's gunned down by police on Christmas Eve. It's just...most of the movie focuses on everything before that: an existence so sad and miserable that getting nearly killed was a positive development. Watch it with the kids! But wait until they're grown.
For a much better time than watching this movie, check out the Barrel Aged Flicks podcast episode also released today, 12/25/23. They put together a teleplay of the entire Bad Santa and it's so much fun! We got to listen to an early edit and we both enjoyed it tremendously, especially in picking out the voices of the BAF crew.
