NFL Kicker turned entrepreneur. Our guest for this podcast episode is Mike Hollis, former NFL player for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In this episode we discuss being an NFL Kicker and the transition from the NFL to entrepreneurship.

——

You may remember Mike Hollis as the kicker that took down the Buffalo Bills in the 1996 Playoffs. Mike played in the NFL for 9 years with the Jags, Bills, and New York Giants.

He has a lot to say about youth sports, how to handle high stakes pressure, and of course entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneur Perspectives of a Sports Psychologist with Derek Bylsma

The mind is a powerful thing.

Eric welcomes Derek Bylsma to this episode of Entrepreneur Perspectives.

In this episode they discuss mental health, the popularity of soccer, and Big 10 sports.

Derek is the Executive Director of Millennium Counseling Center. He resides in Chicago, Illinois. Derek is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a nationally board-certified counselor.

He specializes in recovery-related work, mental health disorders, and issues unique to athletic performance. He is enthusiastic about leading the sports division at his group as it marries two of his life-long passions; helping others and athletics.

The knowledge that Derek shares from his time playing soccer, his time helping others every day, and his time as a business owner are lessons that any entrepreneur can learn from. Eric and Derek also discuss Derek’s passions in sports and helping others, coaching high school soccer, connecting with those that need help, and USA Soccer. The show is based around the perspectives of an entrepreneur and this entrepreneur is full of thoughtfulness and support.

The Best Social Media Platform

The Best Social Media Platform

What is the best social media platform?

Is there a best one?

We hear from Mike Elkins from MLE Law. Mike has been featured on our Entrepreneur Perspectives. What's cool about our relationship with Mike Elkins? We met him on Anchor!

Here's his most recent podcast he did with us:

"Perspectives on Starting a Podcast"

While this podcast aired in August 2017, many things hold true. For example, how Instagram was doing well then--and a year and a half later it still is. Not to mention, while Anchor isn't a social media platform like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, in a sense it is as we learn of people there.

I'd say today that podcasting, LinkedIn, and Instagram are the 3 places to spend time on social media -- in a genuine way, of course.

Related to that, did you know we have a content marketing company that exists to help entrepreneurs tell their amazing stories? Check it out at KazCM.com.
