Super Staggies Go Ballistic - Season 4 Episode 24

Super Staggies Go Ballistic - Season 4 Episode 24

Peter hosts Ramsay and Robbie (after a fantastic intro from our friend Donald Erskine) to discuss a historic first win for the Staggies over Rangers.

Robbie was under fire for showing up 50 minutes late to recording.

The conversation about the match was all over the place as the boys discussed the outstanding performance of every player on the park for Ross County.

Ramsay and Peter's unprofessional conduct celebrating unashamedly in the press box was condemned/ celebrated.

They then looked forward to the post-split fixtures and County's chances of avoiding another playoff.

The good, the bad and the ugly made a return and for once the boys struggled to come up with the latter two.

Tweet of the week made a long-awaited return!

Finally, we answered your questions!

Top 10 Ways to Eat Chutney - Season 4 Episode 23

Top 10 Ways to Eat Chutney - Season 4 Episode 23

Peter hosts Robbie and Ramsay after their weekend trip to Kilmarnock who beat the Staggies 1-0 in a turgid game of football.

The beloved Max Sheaf Inn took a hit to its reputation as the boys were there for pre-match activities.

Mack's Bar Kilmarnock was praised for its cheap prices, jukebox and sandwiches.

The boys genuinely mull over the possibility of moving to Kilmarnock.

We unfortunately had to talk about football as Kyle Vassell took advantage of slack defending to put County to the sword.

On Saturday, Rangers travel up to Dingwall in what is a daunting prospect of a match that we had to preview.

The good, the bad, and the ugly was back in full force.

The Great Escape (Don's Version) - Season 4 Episode 22

The Great Escape (Don's Version) - Season 4 Episode 22

Peter, Robbie and Ramsay are joined by friend of the podcast Liam Miller as they discuss a brilliant Dark Blue Weekend, despite a 2-1 loss on the pitch to Aberdeen.

The weekend kicked off with a Supporters Club quiz in the Staggies Bar that Peter attended and did well in.

It came to Saturday and the boys travelled from Glasgow, Perth and the Black Isle and eventually culminated in Aberdeen. It was an eventful day even before the match.

Killie are next for Don Cowie's men and it will be a proper fight against the Premiership's 4th placed team. The boys discussed possible lineups.

The identity of County social media sensation Gobbo the Staggie was speculated.

Drown out the Dons - Season 4 Episode 21

Peter, Robbie and Ramsay are back after over a month (blame Glasgow Caledonian University) to talk about Don Cowie's Ross County!

They spoke about what happened between then and now, battling results against both Edinburgh teams and which Staggies squad member you'd want on your side in a pub quiz.

Dark Blue Saturday is making a return after 10 years as the Black Isle Supporters Club and Ross County Supporters Club are sending buses to Aberdeen for our bottom of the table showdown at Pittodrie.

Derek Adams RESIGNS - Season 4 Episode 20

Derek Adams RESIGNS - Season 4 Episode 20

Derek Adams has resigned as the manager of Ross County, and the Staggies View panel are here to delve into everything that went on in Derek’s third, and most likely final, tenure in charge of the Staggies.

Peter hosts Robbie and Ramsay as they delve into the club right now as well as going that 5-0 embarrassment at Fir Park.

We answer the questions from our viewers, as well as tabling thoughts about our next manager.

The good, the bad, the ugly was seriously depressing.

We also chatted about potential conspiracy theories and how we accidentally ordered five steaks.

Enjoy!

Andrew Henderson talks Seen and Heard live! | Staggies View and The County Corner combine for Football v Homophobia month of action! (PART ONE)

It's a very special episode as for the first time ever Peter and Ramsay are joined by Ross and Steven from fellow Staggies podcast The County Corner! We all were interviewing a very special guest in the man Peter likes to call 'Fabrizio Romandrew' in journalist Andrew Henderson.

On the 9th of February at 7pm at Eden Court, Andrew is running 'Seen and Heard live', which will have two panels: one about being LGBTQ+ in sport, and one about community building in queer sport.

As part of the LGBTQ+ community himself, Andrew speaks very passionately about issues he and other people have faced, how LGBTQ+ issues have been handled in the world of sport and what we can do to make the world a better place for the LGBTQ+ community.

If I can break the 4th wall writing this description for a second, this is one of my favourite episodes we've ever done and I finished the recording having learned a lot, so I really can't thank Andrew enough for coming on to speak to us all!

This is PART ONE of a two part episode, the second part is over on The County Corner: https://open.spotify.com/show/4vksN2jUzEjZOBpVo4pzfI

Ross Laidlaw Centre Half - Season 4 Episode 18

Robbie Macdonald hosts Peter Mackay, Ramsay Banks, and the returning Liam Miller as they reluctantly dissect County's embarrassing defeat at the hands of Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup.

There was debate over County players past and present who would be good in 'Traitors'.

The January window is still open and the boys discussed the loan signing of Eli King (and were a few hours too early recording to talk about Teddy Jenks and Loick Ayina)

Derek Adams was causing controversy in the media again. Ramsay and Peter were at a press conference where he explained his comments.

We looked forward to Saturday's showdown with Celtic from behind the couch.

Finally, we answered some of your questions, including one that involved a discussion over what Derek Adams would name a pet goldfish.

We're back for episode 15 of the season, despite Peter introducing this one as episode 14 (time is running away from us.)

He is joined by a lone Robbie Macdonald this week as Ramsay sadly couldn't make it due to flat maintenance issues.

The dour duo discussed:

The postponement at Livingston

The wonderful win at home to Motherwell

Yan Dhanda's future...

The good, the bad, and the ugly is here

A look forward to Derek's first away match to St Mirren on Saturday

Mr. President, we have to keep winning! - Season 4 Episode 14

Mr. President, we have to keep winning! - Season 4 Episode 14

Ramsay hosts Robbie and Peter as they delve into Derek Adam's third first two games back as County gaffer.
Before this though there was some chat on Peter's Football Manager save and the key players taking him to virtual glory.
It was a stalemate against Killie, but there were positive signs throughout that the boys saw.
We heard interviews from Yan Dhanda and Derek Adams that Peter and Ramsay heard in person after the Killie game.
Next it was onto the Staggies clash against St. Mirren that ended in victory courtesy of a certain Jordan White (who takes far too much stick from the Facebook side of the fanbase).
The good, the bad and the ugly made a return, but for once the bad and the ugly weren't such a big deal.
The boys made their plans for Livi away on Saturday live on the podcast (believe it or not, these plans involve alcohol), before actually talking about football for a change.
Tweet of the week is back with a bang. It was potentially the best one we've had so far.
We recently got our Spotify wrapped for podcasters, showing all our listener statistics over the past year. Thank you to everyone who has listened over 2023, and to the 19 of you who had us as your top podcast, show yourself! :)

Third Time's The Charm - Season 4 Episode 13

Third Time's The Charm - Season 4 Episode 13

The infamous trio are back after a busy week covering the managerial changes at the club.

Derek Adams is now back in the Ross County hotseat and Robbie, Ramsay and Peter are back in the studio to discuss it.

We gave some initial reaction and breakdown to what the appointment means for the club, detailing back to the last time Adams was in Dingwall.

It was a shorter episode this week but we still previewed what will be Derek's first game against Kilmarnock on Saturday.

We also returned with the long-awaited predicted line-up shambles - a segment which is just an excuse for Robbie to argue with us.

Tweet of the week is back and better than ever.

And we rounded off by answering the listeners crucial questions about the return of big Del.

Don't forget to follow us on social media @staggiesview where you can also get involved with the conversation.

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen Mackay - Season 4 Episode 12

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen Mackay - Season 4 Episode 12

We are back with an emergency podcast as the football club has announced that manager Malky Mackay has been sacked.

Peter hosts Robbie and Ramsay as they give their feelings on the sacking of Malky - with many of them mixed.

We went down the list of potential replacements, with some exciting, some not so much, and some downright hilarious.

We looked at the game that got Malky sacked: a torrid 1-0 loss at the hands of fellow relegation candidates St. Johnstone.

The good, the bad, the ugly was back and was pretty morbid.

We played the best video of the week, a sample of the finest Dingwall accent known to man.

Don't forget to follow us on X, Instagram and Facebook @staggiesview.

See you all shortly! Mon the Staggies.

Barbie Bombs are Inevitable

Barbie Bombs are Inevitable

Ramsay Banks hosts the first episode back after a strenuous month of serious technical difficulties (we hate files.)

Joining him is Peter Mackay as usual and the annoying Robbie MacDonald who we can't seem to shake.

We had a lot to discuss but it somehow started with Peter and Ramsay reminiscing their youth regarding which Fortnite location reminds them of a Ross County player.

Next on the agenda was talking about our three away days in one week, where the boys travelled to Dundee, Motherwell and Edinburgh - and sampled several beverages in each city.

Unfortunately, we had to talk about Celtic.

The good the bad and the ugly returned once again.

There were some top nominations for our Tweet of the Week this time.

We all love an away day, and this weekend it is time for our favourite one of them all... St Johnstone away.

We once again discussed our love for the Letham Community Club - home of Barbie Bombs.

We hope you enjoyed our return after a spell away, we seem to have found a solution to our issues - so fingers crossed that is us back for good.

Stop interrupting me - Season 4 Episode 10

Stop interrupting me - Season 4 Episode 10

The usual trio are back in the studio once again, raring to discuss another scintillating defeat at the hands of Hearts.

The episode kicks off with the boys comparing their favourite meal to a Ross County player - strange? Yes. But my goodness we genuinely got some cracking answers.

It was then time to dissect the hearts performance... with some differing opinions this week and of course running through the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Tweet of the week is back! It was a tough choice this week, to be honest, however, there was a clear winner picked by Peter.

We gave our reaction to Victor Loturi missing out on his place in the Canadian NT.

Our Dundee preview consisted of one of the most HEATED debates of the year so far, which simply just went on, and on. It was great viewing.

Back four of back five... that was the cause of the big argument.

After all that the boys finally got through their Staggies View XI and FINALLY rounded off the podcast.

Focus on the league - Season 4 Episode 9

Focus on the league - Season 4 Episode 9

Peter, Robbie and Ramsay are together in person for the first time! It didn't improve chemistry in the slightest.

The boys were in the Glasgow Caledonian University recording studio for this one, but it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows as they had a double defeat against Aberdeen to break down.

They made themselves even more depressed by talking through all four goals which were scored by Aberdeen, all while discussing how defending can be so poor, or "amateurish" as someone put it.

Through gritted teeth, there was admiration for a goal scored by a man who played for a team.

There was great deliberation over Baldwingate where no one really agreed or had anything too profound to add. We did feel bad for him though.

In absence of the adventures of Robbie, he declared his love for Kyle Turner, and also his hatred for Kyle Turner.

In Peter's favourite segment, there was not so much good, lots of bad, and lots of ugly.

There were attempts made to lift the mood while looking forward to the upcoming Hearts clash but they fell mostly on deaf ears.

Please follow us on socials @Staggiesview and please, we're begging you, leave us some questions or feedback - even give us some criticism. But in all seriousness, we would love some questions.

They've just got big long limbs - Season 4 Episode 8

They've just got big long limbs - Season 4 Episode 8

The usual trio of Robbie, Ramsay and Peter are back behind their microphones for another episode of season 4.

Robbie opens the episode by telling us how he lost his keys in his own pocket...

The panel then dissect the point against Livingston while detailing the fine form of Simon Murray

There are some interesting shouts in the good, the bad and the ugly this week, which leads the boys onto a large tangent surrounding the matchday catering at the club...

There is a brand new segment on the podcast as the boys deliver the inaugural and terribly named 'Tweet of the Week'

The Staggies View XI returns for big debate as we preview the away tie against Aberdeen and the midweek home clash against... Aberdeen.

This week's ViewPoint is a fun one. We asked for each other's dream Ross County 5-a-side team made up of your favourite players from your time following the club. Not necessarily those who were the best players, but we managed to throw in some entertaining names of those we loved.

Please follow our new Instagram @Staggiesview! We should have some extra content coming your way on there.

We hope you enjoy this episode and as always if you have any feedback or questions for us, don't hesitate to drop us a message.

Pie always lands the right way up - Season 4 Episode 7

Pie always lands the right way up - Season 4 Episode 7

Everyone's least favourite trio are back on the Staggies View panel after they enjoyed some time away for the international break.

Peter Mackay is joined by Ramsay Banks and Robbie Macdonald as they begin the podcast by getting through the club's big news in the past two weeks and wrapping up their thoughts on Ross County's summer transfer window.

Golspie local and County fan Jack Howard makes a long overdue return to the mic as he takes us through a strange North of Scotland Cup encounter between Golspie Sutherland and Ross County. The adventures of Robbie returns this week but this time on the rail as he delivers a bone to pick with ScotRail.

The panel looks back at their very enjoyable day out in Ayrshire as Robbie declares his surprise at Kilmarnock not being a sh**hole.

Ramsay hits out with a damning statement that Killie pies are overrated...

The good, the bad, the ugly is back and better than ever!

It is also preview time as the guys look ahead with confidence to the visit of Livingston to the Global Energy Stadium.

Rounding up this week's antics is the topic of best and worst Ross County chants... We need your help to come up with some suggestions so leave us your thoughts on X @StaggiesView or get as us on Facebook. We are also in the process of setting up a new Instagram so keep an eye out for that coming your way!

Thanks as always for listening to our nonsense and come on the Staggies! :)

Dinner with Roy - Season 4 Episode 6

Dinner with Roy - Season 4 Episode 6

Peter Mackay is somehow still in the hosting seat as he welcomes his least favourite Staggies View member Robbie Macdonald onto the podcast, as well as Ramsay Banks who makes his highly anticipated return.

Ramsay tells us about his time in America while Robbie went to watch Barbie with his sister to check if Martin Woods had a starring role.

The adventures of Robbie returns for a bumper segment as he details his disastrous pre-match travel on Saturday.

The panel broke down the loss to Rangers and put forward their all-important good, bad and ugly selections.

In section two it is preview time and we look to Killie and discuss how much their good form could hurt us, whilst Robbie takes a low dig at Harry Paton, which was followed by a segment which had to be removed for legal reasons.

We love nothing better than debate, and there was plenty of that as the lads tried to decide who they want to start in the Staggies View XI.

If you were hosting a Ross County Sunday roast, which three people would you invite? That was the big question of the week as we fantasised about having dinner with Roy Macgregor, as Robbie thinks he would probably bring an expensive gift.

We would love to have more questions sent into the show, so please, if you would like to hear us talk more drivel send us a question on Facebook (Staggies View) or Twitter/X (@StaggiesView).

We hope you enjoyed this episode - it is a longer one but hopefully still enjoyable.

Thanks and mon the Staggies :)

The Malky Finger - Season 4 Episode 5

The Malky Finger - Season 4 Episode 5

Peter Mackay hosts Robbie Macdonald in a two-man podcast panel to discuss the cup success in Robbie's new favourite town: Airdrie.

Robbie tells us why he loved Malky Mackay Mackay showing his appreciation for the supporters at the end of the match before the pair deliver the weekly roundup of the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Looking ahead to Rangers visiting Dingwall there is some not-so-quiet confidence ahead of the Sky Sports clash.

Peter and Robbie then waffle heavily over some of their best and worst away days in their time supporting the football club.

Do not forget to follow us on socials where you can join the conversation with us.

We hope you enjoyed this episode - and we also hope you are as bemused as us as to how we have managed to make it five episodes in five weeks - crazy stuff.

Cake & Irn Bru - Season 4 Episode 4

Cake & Irn Bru - Season 4 Episode 4

There is a debutant on the Staggies View panel this week as Liam Miller joins Peter Mackay, Ramsay Banks, and Robbie Macdonald for the fourth episode of season four!

It's been a busy week for the Highlands premier club as the Staggies picked up their first victory in the new league campaign over St Johnstone. The lads delve into that game after some more peculiar chat - this week about accordions...

The club dished out new contracts this week to some of the most critical players in Dingwall, including Mr Randalldinho who has the SV panel reeling about his display.

It is Airdrie away next up in League Cup action, and the guys are expecting a tough test on a tough surface down in the central belt...

Prepare your ears for a thirty-minute debate as we rank the modern-era Ross County managers from worst to best. We couldn't decide on the top spot - so that's where we need your help. Add to our debate over on X (Twitter) @staggiesview and tell us why the hell we are so wrong! (or right, but I doubt that will be the case.)

We would love it if you could leave us a review and rating on Spotify, it means a lot!

He'd be great in Barbie - Season 4 Episode 3

In Episode three of this season, Peter Mackay is back in the host's chair accompanied by his not-so-beloved friends Ramsay Banks and Robbie Macdonald.

They kick off the episode with a bizarre chat about Ross County and Barbie...

The trio then delves into the Staggies' performance down in Glasgow against Celtic.

Ryan Leak entered the building during the week and the panel explained why they think he is the perfect man to stop the defence from being so LEAKy.

Before previewing the visit of St Johnstone in our first home league match of the campaign, Robbie delivers an exciting ode to what he deems 'the best pub in Scotland.'

As usual, we wrapped up by answering a few of the listeners question from social media.

We hope you enjoyed this episode, and more so hope that you are enjoying our efforts to become more consistent. Don't forget to follow us on X (Twitter) @staggiesview.

Despite some nervousness ahead of the League kicking off, the SV panel voted on their ideal XI to face Celtic, while giving their predictions against the holders.
