Staring At Goats

Jacob was pushing Stephen's buttons all night so we had a handful of wonderful rants about society, pandemics, why we're such epic failures and more! The goats pretty much rocked this episode as usual. You'll have a good time. Travis got vaccinated so he's in a post-vax euphoria and feeling good. Enjoy the show!

So there’s a global pandemic. A virus is sweeping across our world. Still. And society has changed.

Why is this happening? Is somebody going to do something about it? Is your stockpile of booze running out? Are you going to get a Krispy Kreme donut or what?

We went everywhere on this one, but most of it DID relate to COVID. It's been a wild ride, but there are hopes for an end to this saga. The news was on the good and bad side this week, but we certainly had a good time chatting about it.

It was good to be back in the saddle at the Orbiting HQ this episode. We went a lot of places on this one and covered a lot of ground that might only be tangentially related to covid. At this point, it's hard to tell what to talk about on a show about the apocolypse. But I know that we talked about a lot and we were all over the place with it. There was also a surprise appearance by Jacob's kid! He doesn't sleep anymore, but we were happy  to have him on as our infant correspondent.

This episode had plenty of laughs and plenty of heavy moments as we continue to toe the line between staying depressed and trying to rise above. Every episode is a bit of a roller coaster for us. It's a show we don't want to do, because we want COVID gone, but we try to make the best of it while doing it. I hope you get that vibe from it.

Boy oh boy. The day we recorded this one was a wild day for the good ol' US of A. We did everything we could to focus on COVID and try to be as light as we could regarding the events that unfolded in DC. Regrettably, talking about a disease seemed a nice reprieve from everything going on in the country today. The good news is that we had some fun stories to talk about and I hope that you enjoy the episode!

Twenty, Twenty, Twenty Four Hours to GOOOOO, I wanna be vaccinated!

We have a vaccine in the wild and people are taking it! We cover a bunch of stuff about this news, and what is really the light at the end of the tunnel for us. We're pretty pumped about it and I think this episode shows it. We also had a ton of emails and we loved them. Enjoy!

This show strives to be pretty positive, or rather to strike a balance between the absolute crapshoot of our lives and some good humored weirdness that has come out of COVID. I think this episode did a pretty good job of nailing that.

This episode launches a new era of Staring at Goats with us welcoming TVsTravis into the fold as a permanent guest on the show! Travis is a fantastic podcaster in his own right, and adds a great third voice to our show.

This week we talked about Thanksgiving, minks, and ranted and raved about mask wearing a bit more. Let's do it!

Having TVsTravis on the show is always a joy. He returned this week as  our remote Michigan correspondent to give us the lowdown on the new  lockdowns. Lowdown on the Lockdown...heh.  We had a good time on this show. We actually laughed frequently. It  might be that the plague is getting to us, or it could be that we're all  just so done with it that it's turned a corner into funny. Maybe it's  the vaccine. This week we were joined by our good friend Coleman Ranahan! Coleman is a filmmaker, writer, and YouTube wizard. We were super happy to have him on the show and he gave us plenty of insight on where he is and how he's feeling as we all continue to muddle through this pandemic. 

This week on the show we had sociology professor Patrick McGrady join us to chat about how life in quarantine is working for him! We get to dive in on how things are going in the Northeast US, how comfortable he feels out and about, and whether society as a whole is going to survive this thing and will it look the same when we come out the other side. Patrick was a fantastic guest and his positive outlook sure is refreshing among all the doom and gloom we're faced with daily. Enjoy the show! 

We were joined this week by our good friend Josh Cline! Josh works at a  college where he's had a great perspective on how young adults are  handling the pandemic when it comes to their education and venturing out  on their own. He also shares some timeless wisdom about how to be  humble and care for those close to you. We're so happy he decided to  join us this week. Enjoy the show!

This week, Stephen and Jacob were joined by the one and only Adam of Geekheim! Adam is a Twitch streamer and wonderfully positive person who came on to chat about how he and his family are doing managing the new world. We got into some pretty great topics. From missing people we love to chatting about football. There is also some talk about sexier birds. Just listen :D

We were joined by freelance artist, Audie Norman, to chat all about pandemic life! 

This was a fun episode as we dove into the desire to bury our heads in the sand, figure out where the endgame really is, and learn quite a bit about how the world is managing the crisis.

We got a deep dive on how her corner of Texas is operating under the pandemic and a good glimpse at how volunteer and charity efforts have been affected by our mortal enemy, Covid-19.

The saga continues! The school conundrum may come to a close. Jacob started using DoorDash and now he's stuck with it. Pandora's Box cannot be closed again!

Kids have gone back to school! 

And almost immediately turned around to go back home. This is a wild ride and we don't think we're getting out of it anytime soon. We dove into the college fiasco that's happening all over the country, and even found some interesting parallels regarding the Spanish Flu of 1918 that we felt like chatting about. Lando was out again this week, but Jacob and Stephen were happy to lead the charge on plague news! 

Jacob and I were left on our own without Lando again this week. And like all weeks without Lando, we went further down the rabbit hole than we ever intended! Was the world saved by our conversation? Maybe. You'll have to listen to find out!

It's been a wild week for both Jacob and I personally, not to mention Lando, who had to sit out another episode due to some other obligations he had. We really hammered into schools and sports on this episode. How bad is sending kids to school? Should we even bother with sports? Football or RIOT! We really let the emotions fly on this episode and I think it's a good thing. You really have to let loose every so often.

It's been a wild week for COVID-19 news and we had a lot to cover. Our deep dives were pretty good this week and we had some pretty great discussion about CDC and government filters. That and education really took a lot of our time toward the end of the show. We're all dealing with some varying degrees of crap during this plague, but we're trying to make sure you stay informed and entertained as well as we can! Let us know how we're doing!

From Alabama COVID-19 parties to surges across the country, there is clearly a divide in how this thing should be handled and exactly how terrible it is. Well, as always the boys are back to fill you in on the real life situation we're in, or at least try to make sense of the bogus headlines.

It's another crazy week in quarantine and the goat boys are bringing you more news! COVID-19 hasn't gone anywhere and neither have we. We really dove into some good topics this week, but we were sadly lacking Lando who came down with a bug earlier in the day. No, it's not COVID, and we're super happy about that. Stephen and Jacob did the best they could to manage the show on their own and they dove into some pretty intense topics, and got a little personal for a bit. Enjoy!

It's pretty much been decided that 2020 sucks and we need a reboot. We propose a perfect solution to this problem. 

Also, there's a lot going on in the world that has nothing to do with COVID-19 and everything to do with grave injustice. We approach that in the best way we know how early in the show, and then we pivot to coverage of the disease. We stand with all of those that are hurting and feel they've gone unheard for many years. We're here. We're listening.

So much news! You guys, there was a lot to cover on this latest episode. We went from discussing law in Wisconsin to mask shaming to trying to build our own color coded safety guide. We had another great episode, and though we're all fraying at the edges, we seem to be getting along well enough. Enjoy the show!

This week was chock full of news. Billionaires are making crazy and sometimes smart decisions, sports are gonna have to come back at some point, and someone let 200 goats loose...which seems oddly tailor made for this show.
