The State of Diversity

Tara Kannangara is a JUNO-nominated artist and a second generation Sri Lankan-Canadian artist who meshes pop, electronic synth music, jazz and musical theatre, into a singular voice that is captivating audiences all over North America. Her work has been presented at major festivals across North America including The Montreal Jazz Festival, The Washington DC Jazz Festival and The Smithsonian. She currently teaches at the University of Toronto and acts as a student mentor at Humber College. She is also a founding member of #thisisartschool, a coalition of artists championing equity in arts education.

Clara Dao is a Vietnamese body positive content creator based in Toronto who makes videos on self love and body positivity to help people overcome their insecurities. She began creating YouTube videos in 2019 and has since amassed over 122,000 subscribers and 9.4 million views. She also joined TikTok in January of 2020, and has since gained over 384,000 followers and 8.4 M likes. Clara’s mission is to empower skinny and flat-chested women to love themselves more and more each day, one video at a time. 

Kundisai Linda Mukandi is a Zimbabwean born Canadian and a University of Toronto student who created the lifestyle blog “Kundisai Linda” where she shares her thoughts on topics such as personal style, self-development, life, fashion & beauty, travel, wellness, and many other joys in her life. Through this she shares her inspirations with the world.
