Just One Reason
Stuart and I discuss how he came up with the strategy to help himself through the darkest periods of his life and turned it into a real time of crisis self help book that has created change in so many peoples life with suicidal ideation.
We discuss how important it is for us as friends, family and colleagues to lookout for our loved ones when they may be going through difficult times, and how easy it is to gift this book without drawing to much attention to it.
We also discuss the layout of the book, it’s affordability and how affective it is as a mental health survival tool for any experiencing suicidal ideation. Just one reason is changing lives, remember that you are not your thoughts, emotions pass and together we can achieve anything.

The Mental Mentor
An advocate for PTSI (post traumatic stress injury) being recognized as a injury and not a disorder (PTSD) Helen shares her story and long healing journey which lead her to create the app which is not only a benefit for people with PTSI or any mental diagnosis, but for all of our mental well-beings!
I learn about EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) which is a proven therapy that helped release the stored trauma from her body and heal her.
We also discuss the importance of finding the right therapist to work with, if you don’t click with the first one, keep trying! Don’t give up.
We discuss how we can learn from our indigenous culture by reconnecting to nature and grounding our selves, and Helen's ancient smoke ceremony experience.

Blokes Perspective
Today I chat with Kyle and Troy from Blokes Perspective, it's a new social media education and support community for men and woman, aimed at sharing tips and tricks to better manage our mental health.
We discuss the importance of support networks, how social media can affect our mental health, emotions and how to manage them, how we can reflect on the past to see how far we have come, and how we can practice gratitude as simple way to re-wire our brain to look at positive things when going through a difficult time.

Recently I was invited on to the No Pants No Problems podcast in Melbourne to share a part of my story.
Jeff and Lee are doing a great job bringing mental health talk to reality and doing their part to help tackle the stigma attached to the conversation. Please find link below to their website and give them a listen and follow on socials. I look forward to returning to the studio for another stripped back conversation on men's mental health.
