In this episode of Hot Off the STEAM, Park Hill South High School student Nakiya Woodley interviews professional Stylist and Interior Designer Lillie Davis. Lillie Davis graduated from Missouri State University with a  BA in Interior Design and has experience with companies such as Nebraska Furniture Mart, James Home Decor and White House Black Market.

This interview explores topics including how to get into interior design as a high school student, tips on how to style a person or a home, how to be more sustainable and avoid fast furniture, color matching, and much more! Lillie Davis walks through some of her experiences as a stylist and designer including her personal inspirations and some of the tools she uses in the field.

Hot Off the STEAM is a student-led pilot program that introduces teens to careers and other opportunities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math fields while offering select students a chance to produce their own podcast! By interviewing professionals, attending events and visiting local organizations, student hosts learn about careers in Kansas City and share their insights with their peers. Whether it’s an inside look at IT or biomedical sciences, all the information is sure to be Hot Off the STEAM!

This program is coordinated by members of the KC STEM Alliance, a not-for-profit working to inspire interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with the mission of generating a robust workforce of related professionals for the greater Kansas City region.
