Five American Women + A Very Privileged Man
Founder and former CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz, is running for president, as an independent, even though he is a lifelong Democrat. Why hasn't a single woman on the Republican side jumped into the presidential race? Conservative pundit, Ana Narravo learns real quick that Democrats aren't going to be dictated too. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is officially running, and Republicans are already declaring her candidacy DOA. Sen. Amy Kobuchar joins the presidential race, and Democrats should pay close attention, because Republican likes her.   References:  MSNBC: CNN: PBS News Hour: CNN:

Gov. Ralph Northam Needs to Resign, Like Yesterday
On February 1, 2019 - On the first day of Black History Month, Virginian Democrats were forced to address a scathing scandal. The Virginian Plot revealed that Governor Ralph Northam (D) once dressed in blackface or Klansman while in medical school (1984). Instead of accepting responsibility and immediately resigning, Northam has buckled down - because that's what men do. Republicans, of course, expressed outrage. Funny, they continue to miss cleaning their own house of white supremacists. I demand the resignation of Gov. Ralph Northam.

Op-Ed: Government took workers boots and straps
We're thirty-three days into this government shutdown.  I know government workers are frustrated, fear losing their homes, and where their next meal is coming from.  I can relate to those worries.  Two years ago, I was laid-off.  It tops the list to being one of the worst moments of my life.  But unlike the government workers, I didn't lose my job because of political pandering.  Mr. President, end this shutdown now.  Enough is enough.

The Tulsi Gabbard Episode
The Democratic primary field is getting into formation and things are looking interesting, especially for progressives; Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) is set to officially announce her candidacy for president. My feelings are dicey, but one thing I remain firm is Gabbard's right to religious freedom and her personal beliefs on queer Americans; But the buck stops there in my defense of Rep. Gabbard. Her foreign policy stances are all over the place, from isolationist to interventionist.  That's troubling for me. More so, her defense of Assad enrages me.

American Conversations
In the latest episode of Still Ungrateful, I disclose why I've been AWOL with my podcast. I briefly opine about the Facebook and Twitter purge of independent news sites. Full disclosure: I worked at Reverb Press, a media company that was victim to the cleansing. I also address my lack of editing skills. Then I speak with a political friend and former coworker at Reverb Press, Ed Hanratty. In May 2018, we discussed a host of topics, from the Trump Administration, conservatism, and the future of the Democratic Party. Sidebar: Ed Hanratty recently wrote about being a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of his Priest when he was in the eighth grade. You can read his story on HuffPost at Thank you for turning in. Native American Poser
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) has upset the Native American community by responding to President Trump Pocahontas slur - releasing a corny video that 123 and me revealed she is in fact Cherokee, like .105 tenth or something... But you still white tho, says the Cherokee tribe.

A Cardinals Rule for Hyprocrisy
Arizona Cardinals president Michael Bidwill support SCOTUS pick but not black football players right to political speech. Hypocritical much?

When Protectionism Harms
Sen. Rubio (R-Fl) and Sen. Warren (D-Mass) partner to pass legislation that tackles online sex trafficking of children - has led to sex workers bank accounts being frozen arbitrarily - because the finance industry is afraid of being accused of exploiting children. Although understandable, it's also utter nonsense, and is further proof that big sweeping laws may be good on its merit but sometimes harms unintentional bystanders. Reference:

Conflicts, Madness, and True Love
Tensions escalate at the boarder between Palestinians and Israel as the the United States embassy is moved to Jerusalem. A New York Times op-ed, " The Myth of Conservative Feminism," by Jessica Valenti causes a stir about feminism vs. conservative women, and of course, liberal feminists are falsely accused of not supporting conservative women. Six Democrats vote to confirm pro-torture Gina Haspel because red/purple-state liberals still haven't learned how to stand-up for its principles. A royal wedding for the black culture. White people keep calling cops on black people.

Old-heads, Shamming, and Syria
Rep. Nancy Pelosi refuses to step aside to make way for new voices and ideas in the Democratic Party. Hillary Clinton continues to litigate the 2016 election. Once upon a time Roseanne Barr was my comedian hero. Kanye West is cancelled.
