Fifth Sunday of Easter, April 28, 2024, 11:00 A.M. Sunday Worship Service

Good morning and welcome to Stony Creek United Methodist Church's Sunday morning worship service! We want to extend God's blessings to you, and those you love and hold most dear. We pray that your every day will be full of joy, wonderful memories, opportunities to grow and learn, and filled with all of the things that bring you joy and happiness! We also want you to know that we hold no expectations on how much (or little) you may choose to participate in our service, whether online or in-person. We want you to always feel comfortable and safe. In this faith community we believe that ALL people are made in the image of God, and therefore, beautiful just the way they are. We also believe that being made in the image of God and loved unconditionally by God, that you are also a child of God and a sibling of Jesus Christ. You, yes you, are always and forever worthy of being, mercy, grace, and love! God's perfect love ensures these things and there is nothing you can ever do to separate yourself from God's love, or make God ever leave you.

First Sunday After Christmas Day, December 31, 2023, 10:45 A.M. Sunday Worship Service

Hello there! We hope you have had a Merry Christmas and a wonderful time in celebrating all other holidays that are important and meaningful to you. This time of year is full of different holiday celebrations, and we believe there is room for all of them! Today is New Year's Eve and we hope that if you choose to celebrate the ending of this year and the beginning of the next, that the time is full of wonderful memories, joy filled hearts, and loved ones all around you. God loves you more than you will ever know, and there is nothing you can ever do to change that. You are a sibling of Jesus Christ and a beloved child of God, made in God's image, and beautiful just the way you are.

Today is the first Sunday after Christmas Day and we are closing out our Advent/Christmas sermon series, "Where We Belong." On Christmas Eve, Pastor Michael preached about the interesting opening to John's Gospel and what it really means that the "Word was made flesh." Pastor Michael is always striving to connect Scripture with our daily lives, and encourages everyone to ask questions and try to be willing to re-examine our theology and understandings of God and the world. Also today during our worship time together we will be singing some songs, sharing in some liturgy (don't worry, it's all in the bulletin - see link below), lifting some prayers, and hearing some Scripture readings.

If you ever have any questions, or just want to chat, please jump into the chat alongside the video feed on Facebook. Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023, 7:00 P.M. Sunday Worship Service

Good evening and Merry Christmas Eve to you and those you hold in your heart, tonight and every night. It is Christmas Eve!!! And we are excited to celebrate together with you (with as much or little participation as you wish to engage in, no expectations from us) the coming birth of our Savior, Jesus! While the church year has just begun, the joy of the season can be a wonderful way to close out the calendar year. But we also recognize that for some people, this time of year is not one of joy or happiness, but instead of time of sorrow or mourning. If you are struggling this holiday season (or any other time of year), please reach out to us and let us know how we can help support you. You are a beloved child of God, a sibling of Jesus Christ, made in the image of God, and therefore beautiful just the way you are. God's love for you in unconditional and never ends. God loves EVERYONE, and we embrace that here at Stony Creek UMC.

On this Christmas Eve, we are continuing in our Advent/Christmas sermon series, "Where We Belong." This moring, Pastor Michael preached about the ideas of physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological home and how that relates to our understandings of God's home. Pastor Michael is always striving to connect Scripture with our daily lives, and encourages everyone to ask questions and try to be willing to re-examine our theology and understandings of God and the world. Also today during our worship time together we will be singing some songs, sharing in some liturgy (don't worry, it's all in the bulletin - see link below), lifting some prayers, and hearing some Scripture readings.

Pastor Michael always works to connect the Scripture to things in our everyday lives, and encourages us to ask questions and re-examine our theology and understandings of God and the world. Twenty-First Sunday After Pentecost, October 22, 2023, 10:45 A.M. Sunday Worship Service

Hello there, and thanks for checking out our worship time today! Last week we mentioned the holidays that fall on October 15th, so today we want to highlight some of the month-long observations including National ADHD Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, National Bullying Prevention Month, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, LGBTQ+ History Month, and Global Diversity Awareness Month. October sure is a busy time! But even as we get pulled in countless different directions and struggle to meet all the demands of everyday life, God is always there with us, every step of the way.

And God wants you to know that you are made in God's image, and therefore beautiful just there way you are. You are also a beloved child of God, and a cherished sibling with Christ Jesus. God's love for you and all creation is unconditional, and there is nothing you can ever do to stop that love or make God leave you behind. God's perfect grace and love is available to ALL people, without cost. And we hope that you feel and are witness to that love reflected in the people you interact with here at Stony Creek UMC, and in how we do everything from worship to fellowship time, and more!

This morning we will be singing some songs, lifting prayers, sharing together in liturgy, hearing from Scripture readings from the Bible, and will also join Pastor Michael for the third message in our current sermon series, "Thriving." We hope that you will participate in whatever ways you are comfortable and feel safe. There is no judgement or expectation from our faith community towards you in any way. Our only goals are to help build community, love our neighbors by working to help meet their needs and showing mercy and compassion, and to do our very best to be reflections of God's love to the world. If you ever have any questions, or just want to chat, please jump into the chat alongside the video feed. And, if you would like a copy of the bulletin for the service, please visit https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1oQfvMREhgK5zIuLEcev9enTA6T49baQM?usp=sharing where you can download a PDF or Word DOCX version, each named with the date of the service it goes along with. God's blessings on you today, and always, and may the Holy Spirit watch over you and inspire you to love God and love your neighbors.

Twentieth Sunday After Pentecost, October 15, 2023, 10:45 A.M. Sunday Worship Service

Good morning and Happy National Cheese Curd Day, National Lemon Bar Day, and National Mushroom Day! Getting hungry? It is also National Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day and on behalf of Pastor Michael and the entire congregation we want to say thank you to all of our Sunday School, Bible Study, and Kid's Club teachers that do so much to help further Christian education for our children, youth, and adults. One of the great things about being a part of a faith community is the opportunity to learn from each other, and to help each other learn and grow in our faith and in our relationship with God.

During our worship time today we will be singing some songs, lifting some prayers, sharing some liturgy, listening to some Scripture readings, and also join Pastor Michael for his message this morning, the second Sunday in our current sermon series, "Thriving." We also want you to always know that we see you as a beloved sibling in Christ, and a cherished child of God. You are worthy of being, mercy, grace, and love, and having been made in the image of God, are beautiful just the way you are. We hope that you will participate in our worship time in whatever ways you are comfortable, and will be holding you in prayer for the things you are celebrating in your life, and also for the challenges you are facing. God's love for you and ALL people is unconditional, and there is nothing you can ever do to separate yourself from that love and God's perfect grace.

We would also like to invite you to join in the chat for the video if you want to say, ask a question, or even want to introduce yourself, but no pressure or expectation. We want you to always feel safe and welcomed in whatever ways you join with us in worship, ministry, fellowship time, or any other gathering or event. If you would like a copy of the bulletin for this service, please visit this link (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1oQfvMREhgK5zIuLEcev9enTA6T49baQM?usp=sharing), and download a PDF or Word DOCX version named with today's date. You may notice that there are 2 versions of the bulletin for each week. The one labeled "In-Person" does not include the sheet music or printed Scripture readings as we are asking people to use the hymnals and Bibles in the pews for in-person worshiping. The other version, labeled "Online and Drive-In," contain all of the sheet music, full printed Scripture readings, and full liturgy for the service.
