24. Crushing Social Media through Video Storytelling with Alex B Sheridan
How do you turn a talent for rap, comedy and storytelling into a social media business? How can you break through the noise and unleash your creative potential? And what is the Terminator doing in a video about LinkedIn profiles?? Welcome to the StoryPowers podcast, the show about the power of stories, the people who tell them and why you should be doing it too. I’m your host, keynote speaker and storytelling coach, Francisco Mahfuz. My guest today is Alex B Sheridan. Alex is the founder of Impaxs, a LinkedIn marketing agency. He transforms founders and executives into revenue-generating Linkedin content creators. I wanted to have Alex on because he makes incredible videos full of different characters, music and stories which are just completely unique on social media. He is also the only person I know who managed to post a video of himself half-naked and not only he didn’t get booted from the platform, but also got massive compliments on his biceps - but that last one might have been just from me. 23. From Son of a Pimp and an Orphan to Successful CEO with JeVon "JT" McCormick
How does the son of a pimp and an orphan with the name of a Scotsman, living impoverished, in squalor, grow up to be a corporate hero and leadership scholar? How can you be empowered by your story - and not defined by it? And why is achieving the American dream not always a reason to be proud of where you came from?  Welcome to The StoryPowers Podcast, the show about the power of stories, the people who tell them and why you should be doing it too. I’m your host Francisco Mahfuz. My guest today is JeVon "JT" McCormick.  JeVon shouldn't have succeeded. He was born the mixed-race son of a drug-dealing pimp father and an orphaned, single mother on welfare. He was raised in the slums of Dayton, Ohio, suffered incredible abuse and racism, and had multiple stints in the juvenile justice system. He barely graduated high school and has no college degree. But none of that stopped him becoming the President of two multimillion-dollar companies. Currently, JeVon is the President and CEO of Scribe Media. You can find him on jtmccormick.com.  If you like the show, please leave us a rating on Apple podcasts, share it and SUBSCRIBE! 22. Why Brands Should Be StoryDoing with Daniel Heuser Prestes
How does Big Adverstising actually talk about storytelling? How can consistency be a bad thing? 21. Reinventing Your Story with Travis Lachner
How many times can you reinvent your story? What's the secret to creating a brand story that customers will respond to? Is it possible that email marketing and improv are not as terrible as they seem?  Welcome to The StoryPowers Podcast, the show about the power of stories, the people who tell them and why you should be doing it too. Now he is an elite Creative Director & Multimedia Producer helping others unleash their creative energy. Travis is also a much braver man than I am, because he rocks one of the most solid moustaches I’ve ever seen, and he actually likes improv. As you’ll hear, he’s not your average Joe. Or your average Travis. English is a confusing language sometimes... I’m your host Francisco Mahfuz.   My guest today is my good friend Antenor Savoldi.   Antenor is a journalist, historian and semi-professional contrarian. He was also a founder of one of the first online collectives of bloggers, writers and storytellers in Brazil, back in the days when we thought the internet would change the world for the better. Finally, Antenor has the dubious distinction of having known me as a teenager. 14. What’s Behind A Popular Talk, and Why You (Probably) Shouldn't Do One with César Gómez-Mora
Are TED (and TEDx) talks exactly as you see them online? Who should give a talk - and who shouldn't? What would public speaking look like if you could make PowerPoint fun? Welcome to The StoryPowers Podcast, the show about the power of stories, the people who tell them and why you should be doing it too. I’m your host Francisco Mahfuz. My guest today is César Gómez-Mora, one of the Godfathers of public speaking in Spain. César organises both TEDx and Ignite events in Valencia, where he also coaches most of the participating speakers. César runs his own coaching company, saving the world from boring presentations one speech at a time. He was also a National Champion of Public Speaking. Luckily for me, he mostly competed in Spanish, or I’d probably have a few less wins to brag about. You can find César at fourthwall.es. If you like the show, please leave us a review, share it and SUBSCRIBE! The support is very much appreciated. And please send me your comments on what you'd like to hear on future episodes. I'm a keynote speaker on storytelling, author and public speaking coach. You can connect with me on LinkedIn, where I post daily (or as close to that as my children will let me), and on storypowers.com. You can also check out my book "Bare: A Guide to Brutally Honest Public Speaking" on Amazon. Show Notes A couple of clarifications: TED is the main event, which happens typically once or twice a year (usually in Vancouver). Most of the famous talks you think of as TED talks come from those events. TEDx are essentially franchise events organised by volunteers all around the world, which have to follow strict guidelines set up by TED. There are thousands of these a year, but only a very select few are promoted by the main TED website, ted.com. You can only give a TED talk if you're invited to so so, whereas it's a lot easier (but not easy) to do a TEDx talk. Toastmasters International is the largest organisation of public speaking in the world, with thousands of clubs all over the place. If someone calls themselves a "Champion of Public Speaking" (as I do) what they usually means is that they won't a Toastmaster competition at either national or international level. I’m your host Francisco Mahfuz.  My guest today is one of the best speakers I’ve met and also my good friend, Tobias Rodrigues.   Tobias is a communication coach at IESE Business School in Barcelona. He also offers effective team-playing workshops, leadership coaching, keynote speeches, and conflict mediation to international brands including eBay, Henkel, HP, King and PayPal. In short, he helps companies build badass teams.  If that wasn’t enough, Tobias makes the most lethal margaritas I’ve ever had.   You can find out more about him at tobiasrodrigues.com.    If you like the show, please leave us a review, share it and SUBSCRIBE! Your support is very much appreciated. And please send me your comments on what you'd like to hear on future episodes. I'm a keynote speaker on storytelling, a public speaking coach and author. 7. The Strange Tale of Ramanujan, the Egg
This is a story about the things we love, the things we think we love, and egg boxing. You don't know what egg boxing is? Stick around, and you’ll never look at eggs the same way again. Welcome to The Storypowers Podcast, the show about the power of stories, the people who tell them and why you should be doing it too. I’m your host Francisco Mahfuz.
