Angela Cairns: Author, BBC broadcaster, and Amazon Best-seller
Born in the U.K., owner of two successful healthcare businesses and BBC broadcaster, Angela has been involved with coaching since 1986. She began her writing career with non-fiction articles and progressed to a blend of fiction and non-fiction in the creation of Play Pause Unwind a series of relaxation visualization resources.

Peter Spears is the Oscar-winning producer of NOMADLAND. Based on the book by Jessica Bruder, the film from Searchlight also won Academy Awards for director Chloé Zhao and star Frances McDormand, and won the Golden Globe, Critics Choice Award, BAFTA, PGA, Venice Golden Lion, and Independent Spirit Award for Best Picture. Spears produced Luca Guadagnino’s film CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, based on the book by Andre Aciman, for which he was also nominated for the Oscar in 2017. The film won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Spears also produced the MGM feature BONES AND ALL, reuniting with Guadagnino and star Timothée Chalamet, which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Spears’ film DRIFT, directed by Anthony Chen and starring Cynthia Erivo and Alia Shawkat, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and will be released this fall. Episode 110: Karen Allen, a Legend on Stage and Screen
Karen Allen is an award-winning American film, stage, and television actress. She made her film debut in Animal House (1978). Her career-changing role was her portrayal of Marion Ravenwood opposite Harrison Ford in the blockbuster movie Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), a role she reprised for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023). She also co-starred in Starman (1984) and as Laura in the Paul Newman-directed film version of the Tennessee Williams play The Glass Menagerie, with John Malkovich and Joanne Woodward, in 1987. You can also see her as Bill Murray’s long-lost love in Scrooged (1988). Multiple television credits include a series, The Road Home, and episodes of Law and Order and Law and Order: SVU. Her stage work has included performances on Broadway, and she has directed both stage and film productions. Allen has a long-standing relationship with the Berkshire Theater Group dating back to 1981.

Episode 106: Carren Strock A True Renaissance Woman
Carren Strock — equally at home with a pen and paper, a paintbrush and canvas, needle and thread, or hammer and nails — is an all-around Renaissance woman.
She is the author of the ground-breaking book on a previously undiscussed topic,Married Women Who Love Women, now in its third edition. She is also the author of A Writer’s Journey: What to Know Before, During, and After Writing a Book, In the Shadow of the Wonder Wheel (a mystery novel set in Coney Island, New York), Tangled Ribbons (a lesbian paranormal romance) , Grandpa and Me and the Park in the City. (a rhyming picture book for children), Potatoes With Appeal; 105 Mouth-Watering Recipes, (a cookbook dedicated to her love for the potato), and her latest book, Secret Survivors, (a gripping middle grade chapter book).
Her artwork has been honored in both regional and international art shows and has been exhibited at the Albright Knox Art Gallery. Her photographs have appeared in architectural magazines and her articles have appeared in numerous publications in the United States and abroad.
For years, as her children were growing up, Ms. Strock exhibited her arts and crafts throughout New England taking awards for her paintings, quilting, and woodwork. When asked if there was anything she couldn’t do, her family would tease, “find the kitchen.” The family often picniced on the floor because the kitchen and dining room tables were covered with projects.
The middle child of three, Carren was raised in Brooklyn, New York, by parents who encouraged creativity. When she was eight, she told her father that her doll needed a bed. He took her to a hobby shop and bought her a coping saw, balsa wood, and paint and she designed and built a cradle. During hot summer days, her mother would set up a card table in the street and she and her siblings would pass the time painting or cutting paper and making collages.
After having lived in Milford, Connecticut, and then in East Amherst, New York, she returned to her roots in Brooklyn. She is a member of the the Authors Guild, the Publishing Triangle, Out Professionals, the American Society of Journalists, the International Women’s Writing Guild, and the Women’s National Book Association for which she was a workshop director for more than twenty years. She has taught writing classes as well as classes in photo composition in New York City and at IWWG sponsored workshops at Skidmore, Brown, and Yale Universities. She is now available for speaking engagements.
Ms. Strock is the mother of two and the grandmother of two who, she says, make her heart sing.

Episode 105: Kyle Ann Robertson Jumps Right In
Kyle Ann is a “fingers crossed, jump right in” kinda girl. Just sink your teeth into her years of journal entries and poetry for details. (Actually, please don’t!) Born in Japan, Kyle traveled around the world and east coast of the United States as a Navy brat. She mostly grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, traveled through Kentucky, Massachusetts, Georgia, and Florida before retiring from the world of physical therapy and turning to a second career in creative writing. She has successfully raised four wonderful kids who are presently out living their own adventures. She now lives in Florida with her husband and enjoys visiting with her six (and counting) grandkids, golfing, gardening, and of course, writing honest and heartfelt family stories. Her debut novel, White Picket Fences shows us how to challenge karma for all the right reasons.

Episode 104: Amy Ferris Facing Life Head-On
Amy Ferris is an author, a writer, a screenwriter, an editor and a playwright. Her memoir, Marrying George Clooney, Confessions From a Midlife Crisis (Seal Press) was adapted into an Off-Broadway play in 2012. Amy has written for both the small screen (TV) and the big screen (Feature Films). As a screenwriter, she was nominated for a Best Screenplay Award (BET, Black Reel Award) for her adaptation of the film, Funny Valentines (Director, Julie Dash) As an editor, she curated Shades of Blue, Writers on Depression, Suicide and Feeling Blue (Seal Press), and co-edited the anthology, Dancing at the Shame Prom (Seal Press). She co-authored Old School Love (HarperCollins, 2020) with Rev Run of RUN DMC fame. Amy serves on a variety of advisory boards supporting women and the Arts. She co-founded The Milford Readers & Writers Festival, and is on faculty at The Kauai Writer's Conference.
She was named one of Women's eNews 21 LEADERS FOR THE 21st CENTURY, and she was a recipient of NextTribe's The 12 Women Who Changed the World in 2021.
Her new memoir, Mighty Gorgeous - A Little Book About Messy Love is out October 2023.

Episode 103: Edie Cay: Writes Feminist Historical Romance That Packs a Punc
Edie Cay writes steamy feminist historical romance. Her debut, A LADY’S REVENGE won the Golden Leaf Best First Book (2020), as well as the Indie Next Generation Book Award (2020). The second in her series, THE BOXER AND THE BLACKSMITH won the Hearts Through History Legends Award, A Man for All Reason in 2019 as an unpublished manuscript, and then went on to win the Best Indie Book Award (2021). The third book, A LADY'S FINDER was a finalist for a Lambda Award, the most prestigious LGBTQ+ literary award in the world. A VISCOUNT’S VENGEANCE published in 2023. Previously, she has published short stories, poems, and non-fiction in small presses. She has co-written and starred in several short films and documentaries from MadLaw Media, including Big 5 Dive about scuba diving in the Great Lakes, and How to Be Sexy, a fictional short about confidence and self-worth.

Episode 102: Jane Rubin: In the Hands of Women
A terrifying diagnosis, a genetic defect, and a lifelong fascination with the history of medicine led Jane Rubin to put pen to paper. After an ovarian cancer diagnosis in 2009, Jane, then a healthcare executive, poured her energy into raising research dollars for ovarian cancer and learning more about her familial roots. In the Hands of Women (Level Best Books) is now available at most online bookstores, and its prequel, Threadbare, is expected to launch 5/24.
Jane’s other publications include an essay memoir, Almost a Princess, My Life as a Two-Time Cancer Survivor (2009 Next Generation Indie Book Finalist), and multiple articles in the Coping with Cancer periodical. She writes a monthly blog, Musings, reflecting on her post- health care career experiences and writing journey. Jane also volunteers for the Women's Fiction Writers Association, assisting with the coordination of its annual national meeting.
Jane lives with her husband, David an attorney, in Northern New Jersey. Between them, they have five adult children and seven grandchildren.

Episode 101: Marybeth Massett - producer, actress, and a woman of great Claire-ity!
Marybeth Massett has worked as a story consultant, script editor and development executive both independently and for Harvester Road for 20 years. She produced the festival award winning short, THE SEER, with Thirteen Films. In addition to producing Marybeth is also an actress. She has appeared in films such as, The SOCIAL NETWORK and most recently in GOLD starring Mathew McConaughey. Television credits include STAR TREK, NCIS LA and RAY DONOVAN and most recently Marybeth created and stars in the television satire CLAIRE-ITY which she and Patrick Massett produced for Harvester Road and streaming now on Apple tv and Amazon. Currently, Marybeth is producing season two of Claire-ity as a half hour comedy with Harvester Road. She and husband Patrick Massett have been married for 31 years. They have three children and live in Malibu, Ca.

Episode 100: Tracy Barone: film executive and producer, writer, and critically acclaimed novelist.
Tracy Barone is a storyteller who has honed her skills in her multi-faceted careers. She began her career in theatre as a playwright and director in New York City, her plays, including award winning “August Grace”, were performed Off-Broadway in venues including the Public Theatre, Playwrights Horizons and La Mama. Her desire to learn how to develop and produce the material she wrote propelled her into the studio system in Los Angeles.
Her debut novel, Happy Family, garnered her a high six-figure advance and was met with critical acclaim. Published by Little Brown, Happy Family has been published in German by Diogenes Verlag. She is writing her next book series, Ziggurat and has written personal essays and articles for Oprah.com, the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times.

C. Evan Stewart is a senior partner in a New York City law firm. Mr. Stewart is also a visiting professor at Cornell University and an adjunct professor at Fordham Law School. In addition, he is a contributing columnist for the New York Law Journal, New York Business Law Journal, and the Federal Bar Council Quarterly; he has published approximately 300 articles on a variety of legal subjects.
He is frequently featured in the national media, such as Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN and regularly speaks across the country on securities, professional responsibility, and complex litigation issues. In 2016, he received the Sanford D. Levy Award from the New York State Bar Association for his contributions to the field of legal ethics.
Mr. Stewart is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York. He is also a Director and Treasurer of Humanities New York.
