Changing Focus: Measuring The Right Things
An old adage in the business world: “You can’t manage what you can’t measure.” The problem for the church is too many leaders have picked the wrong things to measure. Take attendance and membership. Craig T Owens , pastor and author of Shepherd Leadership: The Metrics That Really Matter, points out that one key to a biblically healthy church is the quality, not the quantity, of members. Another is choosing pastors for more than their ability to preach. Listen to how The Post Covid Church can have a real impact only if it re-thinks what’s biblically important. You can find the transcript at

REVIVAL!: Not That Simple
Can this pandemic that has touched every corner of the world, focused the mind of even the most strident secularist and decimated the church lead to another worldwide revival?  Not unless we do more than wait for it.  T.M. Moore has written more than 30 books and is a renowned expert on revivals.  The author of Restore Us says we first need to realized that a “revival” is not an organized event, with special speakers and a pot luck supper.  Historically, great revivals like "The Great Awakening" have always begun with repentance and “extraordinary seasons of prayer.” Listen to what The Post Covid Church must do now if there is to be hope for any kind of real revival.  You can find a transcript of this podcast at    Just click the show title on the home page.

It means making youth ministry more than “skinny jeans and fog machines”. Dr. Corey Miller explains that if churches aren’t including apologetics across all age groups, they’re not doing their job.  A full transcript at  Just click on the Title.

Revitalizing The Church: Tough Medicine, Hard Work
Dr. Harry Reeder’s career has focused on revitalizing the local church and helping pastors and lay leaders across the country do the same.  The  Senior Pastor at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL is quick to say the roadmap he shares isn’t his, but Christ’s.   He’s also convinced that the pandemic, the culture’s hostility to biblical principals and progressive Christianity's increasing influence  have all made it more difficult to thrive.  But not impossible.  The author of "From Embers To A Flame, How God Can Revitalize Your Church"  pulls no punches as he identifies what The Post Covid Church must do if it’s to regain its influence and make disciples.    You can get a transcript of this podcast at  Just click on the show title.

Trauma In The Pews
Too many churches are focused on just getting folks back in the building and ignoring the trauma all have faced, to various degrees, during the pandemic.
