Discussing the National Admissions Scandal with USF Admission Counselors

Discussing the National Admissions Scandal with USF Admission Counselors

Yes, the title is exactly what we are doing in today's podcast! Remember that one admissions scandal in 2019? It was one of the biggest scams that involved document fabrication, money laundering, bribery, and lots of photoshop to get wealthy students unfairly admitted into the most prestigious universities in America. The Netflix documentary, Operation Varsity Blues, made a reenactment of the admissions scam using real conversations recreated from FBI wiretaps to expose the whole thing. We wanted to learn more about this scandal through the lens of those that are currently in the college admissions field so we decided to bring in two admission counselors that work for USF. Terrell Clarke and Justin Nkemere join us in today's podcast to discuss what they believed was accurate and what was not and whether they saw any similarities or differences in the work that they do. Tune in to learn more about the admissions scandal and what it is like seeing this through a professional lens.
