Here's my latest conversation with the very interesting watercolor artist from Germany, Carsten Wieland. Listen in as we talk about his journey with art in many forms including comic book and graphic design and his discovery of watercolor as his passion and current career! As many artists know its often a struggle to earn your living as a painter but Carsten has shared many gems of what he is doing to make it more sustainable with a lot of hard work and patience not to forget passion for what he does!

I'm back on Studio Dialogues with this very dear (to me) interview, with the one and only Milind Mulick.  Son of a well-known illustrator and painter, Pratap Mulick, Milindji has been drawing since the age of 5 and started doing watercolour landscapes at the age of 13. He has participated in many group shows throughout India, and have had 20 one-man shows in Mumbai and Pune. His paintings are in the collection around the world. He has 13 books published on the subject of art and watercolour and is a well know teacher through his workshops and classes.

In this conversation Milindji talks about his childhood artistic influences as well as the artists who have inspired him along his career. He shares his experiments of marrying music with art and how it inspired him and opened up the mind to new ideas.

Angela talks about her childhood and her introduction to different languages and people from different backgrounds, and how and why she enjoys meeting and painting with artists from across the world. She talks about how important it is to interact with different cultures and expand one's horizon and also it helped her to develop as an artist.

In this episode of STUDIO DIALOGUES, we get to chat with artist Sikander Singh. Sikanderji talks about his journey in watercolours and how he built a successful career as an artist and educator.

He emphasizes the power of working on your passion without worrying about the end goals, of perseverance and hard work. Sikanderji also talks about how he has always had the support of his family, his friends and his numerous students who have been like pillars in his growth. In his humble and down to earth manner he acknowledges everyone he has been inspired by and learnt from and all the people who have helped him along the way.

In this episode of STUDIO DIALOGUES, I'm in conversation with Anna Massinissa, an industrial designer, artist, art curator and founder of Inarte Organization and Fabriano Inacquarellconvention. Anna shares her journey and how she scientifically tackled the organization of art and watercolor convention to build it up to such an amazing gathering of artists from across the world who get together to share, learn, discuss and organize.

Anna also talks about how art is therapeutic, how it connects us to people, the land, nature and each other. Her advice to artists who want to grow is to keep doing much research, be true to themselves, to learn marketing or whatever skills needed to build their audience and grow in the direction they want.

In my second episode of STUDIO DIALOGUES, I had a really inspiring conversation with the wonderful Sanjay Desai. He shares his experiences during his childhood & growing up years of being in and out of studios of some eminent artists. His early exposure led him to observe the value of working with passion and dedication at one's craft.

Sanjayji's description of why a habit of sketching is important and how it leads one to develop as a better painter is nothing short of fantastic and I for one have pledged to follow his suggestions!!
