#54: TikTok and How To Master Creating Content w/ Kelsey LeMunyon, Sr. Talent Manager - Studio71

"What type of content works best on TikTok?"

"How can artists build a community as opposed to a following?"

"What are some things artists forget to do when uploading their content?"

---

This week's guest on the unsigned podcast is Kelsey LeMunyon from Studio71. Kelsey is a Senior Talent Manager and was recently named a top TikTok talent manager by Business Insider. Kelsey got her start in the entertainment business by initially working in PR before making the move to the management side of the business where she now works with creators to help them build content strategies that are not only engaging but also drive revenue.

In this episode, we talk about where creators should be spending most of their time on the app and how listening/watching is just as important as speaking and creating.

What have you had success within your career? Drop us a comment and let us know!

#39: Cristina Jerome – Brand Partnerships, RnBae Collective

“How can I be building with my audience during a pandemic?”

“What’s the purpose of creating content?”

“Email or social media?”

-----

Cristina Jerome is a professional music marketer and the founder of RnBae Collective, an R&B focused agency providing event production and brand partnerships. She founded RnBae as a platform to specifically highlight R&B - as its own thing separate from Hip-Hop - in hopes of shining a much-needed light on the extremely talented R&B singers and artists that may be getting overlooked. Through RnBae, Cristina has worked with countless artists and coordinated brand partnerships with brands including Atlantic Records, Red Bull, Vashtie, and more. Being at the forefront of the shifting landscape in the world of marketing within the music industry, Cristina and RnBae are a great resource for artists looking to navigate the brave new world we find ourselves in.

#35: Joel Rodriguez - Artist & Group Context Director, Translation

"What is “context” and how important is it when creating a brand and connecting with my audience?"

"How can artists bring value to their fans during the pandemic?"

"What are some key metrics to pay attention to as an artist?"

-----

This week’s guest is advertising executive & emcee, Joel Rodriguez (@joel.rdrgz) - also known as Superbad Solace.

Joel and I met back at Translation in 2016. Today, he is the Group Context Director, which means he is in charge of making sure that Translation’s work resonates with audiences and pushes the culture forward. Being a high performer on both sides of the ball gives Joel a unique perspective on both music and marketing - and makes this gem-filled convo a great resource for up-and-coming artists looking to build their brand.

#33: Michael Persall - Co-Founder and President, Treble

“What is Treble and how does it help artists?”

“How should artists be managing their careers and their 9-5?”

“How important is creating a community?”

As mentioned previously, I'm going to space my podcast releases out a little bit more for the foreseeable future. I want to make sure I'm doing my part and keeping the focus on the things that matter.

This week's guest is Michael Persall. Michael and I met via Frank Woodworth, another guest I had on the podcast (check his episode HERE), but I first heard about his company, Treble, a few years back when they started throwing parties and events around NYC. Since then I've been following them on social media and decided to hit Frank up to connect the dots for us. Treble has come a long way and are about to launch a new version of their platform to help connect artists with the team members they need in order to take their careers to the next level!
