Since 2017, SUM Theatre Saskatoon has produced The Last Sunday. Till now it's been a live event where people come to meet, discuss and process current events. On this episode of The Last Sunday, you’ll hear music that dancer/choreographer Lindsay Cottin created dances to, a rant performed by Neil Visvanathan, a brand new play called “The View from the Top of the Hill” written by Charlie Peters and performed (in order of appearance) Grahame Kent, Rodrigo Pino-Hellman, Danielle Spilchen, Danova Dickson (all in Saskatoon), and a hot seat interview with secondary education teacher, Michelle Dueck in Regina.

All performances are interspersed with comments and introductions from our host and Artistic Associate Krystle Pederson, as well as our partners at the Spark Theatre in Prince Albert, at The Battleford Community Players in The Battlefords, and at the Creative City Centre in Regina. The hot seat interview was conducted by Artistic Director, Joel Bernbaum in Regina.

This episode’s themes were:

mental health, pandemic reflection, covid vaccine roll out, education, education during the pandemic

On this episode of The Last Sunday, you’ll hear music written and/or performed by C'est ma cousine (Sylvie Walker, Liz Tkachuk), a rant performed by Olive Watts, a brand new play called “The Ultimate Poke: the Musical” written by Connor Brousseau and Jenna Berenbaum and performed (in order of appearance) Amanda Trapp, Jonathon Pickrell, Kendra Chomyn, Ricardo Alvarado (all in Saskatoon), and a hot seat interview with founder of Black Lives Matter YXE, Delilah Kamuhanda. All performances are interspersed with comments and introductions from our host and Artistic Associate Krystle Pederson, as well as our partners at the Spark Theatre in Prince Albert, at The Battleford Community Players in The Battlefords, and at the Artesian in Regina.
