EP 26 - Transition to a Big Kid Bed
On this episode of 'Sup, Moms? Podcast, we're discussing how we transitioned our older kids to a big kid bed. This topic brings anxiety for lots of parents and we thought we'd share how we handled it & how it's been going.
The factors:
- Marin transitioned to a big bed when she was a little over 2.5 years old
- Luke transitioned to a big bed when he was just over 3 years old
What's in Marin's Room:
What's in Luke's Room:
- Crate and Barrel Ever Simple
Megan's Three Takeaways:
- We use safety knobs on her main door and closet (if she needs us she can talk to her monitor camera)
- Game Changer: she stopped pooping in her Pull-Up when we put her training potty in her room
- She can get up to tricks while she's tiring herself out so we've had to remove all her books and bed frame in the past
Jess' Three Takeaways:
- Prepping way in advance helped tremendously! We read 2 books about getting a big kid bed, he picked the bed color & his sheets and he got to help Dad put the bed together
- The Hatch Light has been big about when he can wake up, he does ask for his light to be purple (when he can wake up) before it's time
- He stays in bed well but he stalls pretty epically before it's time to sleep

EP12 - Your New Mealtime Mindset with Yummy Toddler Food
Boy do we have a great episode for you. Amy Palanjian of Yummy Toddler Food & author of books, including Busy Little Hands Food Play, shares her wisdom of all things toddler food.
Amy started in magazines and discovered when her oldest reached toddler age that there weren't many resources out there with toddler meal inspirations. So, Amy started Yummy Toddler Food on the side. She taught herself how to be a food blogger, had a large backlog of content when she launched and has created a successful business and has 255,000 followers on Instagram. She knows her stuff!
Amy taught us SO MUCH and we hope you do, as well. Did you know that the toddler phase is from age 1 to age 8? Who knew?! And that there's a phase of development called neophobia, which is the fear of trying new foods but looks like picky eating in a toddler. It's so important to update your mindset with what success means when it comes to feeding your toddler.
For more of Amy's tips and takeaways, check out the show notes on our website.
