There is a joy in meeting fertile minds especially when they are about to begin their working lives and or are in the last few years of their formal academic education. Sanjeet, our guest, brings much happiness to this conversation by displaying a healthy sense of confidence, wisdom, curiosity and willingness to learn in equal measure. His ability to understand nuances and build upon them in this chat, gave me a lot of pleasure while conversing with him. Enjoy this chat. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Our guest, Jaanvi Haria, revels in this self-exploration-of-a-chat from the beginning of the conversation, and finds things about her mind, her creative process and comes home to some wisdom. Series 5, Episode 43: The Other Side of Finding Purpose | An engaging conversation about an interesting life journey

There are many aspects which make any life rich. Rarely do we see the kaleidoscope for what it is, fascinated as we are by compartments. In this free-flowing chat, however, I and Sushma, a friend, talk about work, social service, seeking time for oneself, parenting, connecting with people, experiences and a whole lot more. It is a genuinely light, but deep conversation and reminded me of many emotions within me, felt during different stages of my life. A happy and meaningful chat, this. Check it out. Series 6, Episode 7: Random Contemplation | Meditation and Practicality - Is there a connection?

Series 6, Episode 7: Random Contemplation | Meditation and Practicality - Is there a connection?

A rare chance to speak with a person who has dedicated his life to the seeking even though he is not a monk. Getting off the beaten track, he has pursued his journey in meditation and seeking the truth for himself, for many years now. I choose to interact with him, and understand his reference points on 'what is meditation? Is it necessary? How does one deal with worldly success or the lack of it?' and many such questions useful to us in daily life. We had a quick but substantially clear take on quite a few valid topics. Do check this amazing take on meditation and its practical uses. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 6, Episode 5: Random Contemplation | Discussing Love in its many forms of understanding

'What is Love?' is perhaps the most difficult question to answer. Here I speak to Hemant Gupta who sportingly dives with me into the unknown, and explores the vastness of this tremendously important emotion. We dissect it with love, allowing duality, oneness, practicality, exposure to this word in professional life and many other ways. A Valentine Day conversation which goes much beyond the traditional understanding of Love, for sure. Like it or hate it, you won't be able to ignore the facets of love being covered here. Come, celebrate this chat. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 6, Episode 6: Random Contemplation - Delving into the truth of intelligence and its many nuances

Series 6, Episode 6: Random Contemplation - Delving into the truth of intelligence and its many nuances

In a world which is being enamoured and fascinated by Artificial Intelligence, we take this chance to delve deeper into what is intelligence. This journey into understanding creates its own path - starting from what is a metaphysical and a 'heavy' discussion, it meanders into unknown paths throwing light on many interesting 'read', 'heard', 'experienced' versions and still growing out of all this and shining on a new 'truth' as we are both, equally stumped by the revelation and what it means to us. Hemant Gupta continues to be one of my favourite chat-mates on the podcast for a reason. Have a look at one more reminder why :) For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 5, Episode 42: The Other Side of Studying Body Language | Knowing the human and business side of an expert

It is rare to come across someone who is so clear about her goals, and yet admits nonchalantly that she got it wrong some times. Without batting an eyelid, our guest, Khyati Bhatt, CEO of a one-of-its-kind company,  @SimplyBodyTalk, talks to us about being an expert in a different career choice, even while taking us through her journey of ups and downs till she found her passion. She is also kind enough to reveal her personal fears and her adherence to ethics in her line of work. It is a quick, clear, precise world-view she brings to the chat. I had a lot of fun conversing with this expert on non verbal communication. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 5, Episode 41: The Other Side of Knowing Oneself | Talking about seeking more from everyday life.

Series 5, Episode 41: The Other Side of Knowing Oneself | Talking about seeking more from everyday life.

We talk about job responsibilities, being good at one's profession but not making it the most important part of our job. Our guest wisely covers a lot of ground by speaking about daily happenings, his ability to be balanced in all conditions, working diligently to understand his mind state - basically using the activities which are part of everyday to be in accordance with what one wishes to be. In his case, contentment is really a great example - and he narrates how he uses it to balance his need and greed. A worthy episode, this. Series 7, Episode 5: Emotions - The Youth Series | Discussing expressions with an introverted psychology student the values workshop

It is not always that we have more silence than words spoken by a guest. But this one couldn't have been more perfect. It is an ideal kind of conversation when the subject discusses emotions with a stable mind, yet expressing herself reluctantly. I am sure this will give a lot of strength to many who are shy, unsure, doubtful, fearful or simply hesitant to express themselves. I surely hope you show a lot of love and support to this genuinely vulnerable kind of chat. Have a look. For the video, check ww.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 7, Episode 4: Distraction - The Youth Series | Looking at the world from a focussed design student's view

What an unimaginable chat this is. The guest's varied experiences with failure and success, competition and self-love, study and determination, allow us to look at her journey with fascination. It is not everyday we have a topper who says, it is not important to be on top. Once we begin to delve beneath the surface of her experiences, we find out the gravity of her learning and that the view-point she has formed of the process and her goal, is hard-won. An amazing conversation, perfect for the new generation, as it covers many relevant topics, good for the parents to know how and what are the concerns for this generation, as well as teachers to understand the complexity which makes individuals, and hence, perhaps not bracket them into easy classifications of good and bad. A detailed chat with Dr Rajvi Mehta, one of the nation's more experienced embryologists, on professional issues like the heavy workload and the uncertainty of outcomes which create a lot of pressure and stress. A TVW Special: The scientific way of thinking | Speaking to a man who is living his truth

Rarely do you come across a human being whose life experience isn't rich. But this particular guest continues to evolve, speak his mind and check his own beliefs against life's daily interactions and in the process, gets to enrich most of his moments fully. We talk learning, knowledge, the fallacy of thinking 'we know it all', growing from failure, changing course as we understand the path better, and so much more in this brief chat. Hasmukh Sapnawala is an excellent conversationalist and speaks his heart with almost no filters at all. What a joy this chat is! Do check it out. Series 5, Episode 39: The Other Side of Self Exploration | A provocative questioning of a seeker's journey

Series 5, Episode 39: The Other Side of Self Exploration | A provocative questioning of a seeker's journey

Of all the journeys, the one within is the most difficult. It is indeed heartening to meet guests who are seeking a 'deeper understanding' because the truths they talk about, are almost like headlines in advertising. There is so much more meaning which can be found in the ways they traverse within themselves (even if it is with me here - and yes, the camera and the sound also have a separate inanimate presence). I am glad to meet someone who has been searching within her traditional texts but allows herself to understand independently, even as she seeks help from others who know the language. What a beautiful testament to research that is. I enjoyed this episode due to its precision of querying - as well as the exactness of the answers. Check it out. They talk about their favourite subject: Teaching and contextualize how they themselves deal with boredom, while also teaching the aspect of making peace with it to those younger than them. A good mix of exciting and sensible answers allows a peek into the many youthful views of a world changing faster than ever before. For the video, check www.youtube.cp/c/thevaluesworkshop

Jeena Isi ka Naam Hai | Discussing 'conflict with loved ones' and ways to make peace with it

Life teaches us many lessons, some enjoyable and some challenging. This is one of the most authentic chats on the channel, where the guest preferred to stay anonymous, and went all out to describe her state of mind at varied stages of life. I resonated with many of her feelings, and yet both of us felt there was more to be learned, understood and even adapted in our lives, even when we seemed to be 'getting' the subject. The conversation was so heartfelt that I feel I have never been so open about my feelings as much as I have been in this. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 5, Episode 38: The Other Side of Walking for World Peace | Speaking to a man who has walked more than 12000km

It is not every day, one gets a guest like the present one - he has walked for peace in India and across countries. His stories, experiences and world-view are both, simple and inspiring, and it is truly a privilege to hear him speak about his journey. His beliefs are backed by his actions and his connections over the years have changed him. He answers my questions with a clarity and a sense of joy. The internet has not been stable in this chat, because presently he is in a jungle-like place, far from the city. But if you bear with this little inconvenience, it is a much needed balm of a talk in today's conflict-ridden times. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 6, Episode 4, Random Contemplation | Finding the difference in information, knowledge and wisdom

In a world ruled by data, how much time do we really dedicate to understanding nuance? With so much information at our fingertips, we need to retain our sanity, and make attempts to go deeper to understand. However, we cannot just stop there, communication adds another layer to this chat, and Hemant Gupta, my guest continues to make relevant points to pursue. The time limits our chat to 'manageable' levels, but the topic itself is vast and requires much more digging. Do check out this extremely thought-provocative conversation. Series 7, Episode 1: Anxiety: The Youth Series | Sharing views about this important contemporary challenge

Series 7, Episode 1: Anxiety: The Youth Series | Sharing views about this important contemporary challenge

The podcast remains a mystery even as it seems to be a simple chat on serious topics. This first episode of the new series on youth is a case in point. Anxiety as a subject is vast, and although we use the word far more often than ever before, this episode proves every individual view is different. The BFFs I speak to here seem to agree and disagree on all the points I bring up equally. The understanding and wisdom though seems to shine through. Here are some of the answers: I would ask the person to sleep on it first, I would ask them how long have they been grappling with the issue, I wouldn't advise but push them to try and fall because it is okay to. In the lightness of being they exhibit, these young ones come up with serious and timeless wisdom. Do check it out.

It is heartening to see young people wear their passion on their sleeves. This guest, who has had quite a few conversations with me, talks about the disappointments, the elation, the love, the challenges and her solution to what has been happening in her professional life. It is a heartfelt chat where I ask pointed questions to the young professional about her own inner journey when dealing with the problems of growing up from a student's view to her present work-space. Series 6, Episode 3, Part 2: Random Contemplation | Defining Life's Pace and our inherent contribution to it

Hemant Gupta sprinkles this topic with interesting provocations, sharing from books and a lot of measured words. He is a mindful speaker and does not feel pressured by the need to be wise or intelligently answer the questions I pose. I am gaining a lot of insights on how one can systematically work on the inner journey using words, and how their evolution has come to be, and also mean specifically to me. It is a rich exploration in this part where we mine a lot of thoughts and try to understand and contextualise them for building up our own learning. Hopefully all who watch this will contribute to the collective learning. May all share the merits of our effort to understand. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

I have the good fortune to chance upon another deep conversation with Hemant Gupta, who has this unique ability to connect what he has read and contextualize it with his experiences and bring his own take to the discussion at hand, and all of this he does, while answering my question. I enjoyed this particular chat for its educative, informative and dare I use the term, 'elated' content, since we cover time, the impact of the present world order, its demands on us, joy and what it means compared to pleasure among many other areas and nuances of thought. Do have a look. It may trigger your own journey of thought on this subject of vital importance. May all beings share the merits of this attempt. Events over the world in the last few years have led all of humankind to ponder over the precarious nature of our existence mainly due to man-made provocations to each other. Pride nestles comfortably with vulnerability, dedication and doubt walk hand in hand, and the ability to temper emotion with reason is evident in the chats, irrespective of the different backgrounds we all come from. But with this particular guest who happens to be multi-talented in the study of science, generational trauma and many subtle mind spaces, I get to ask whatever comes up in my mind, with absolutely no connect to the past question. What comes up is a delight of a conversation, where both of us explore thought-spaces with depth and ease in equal measure. Well, it does seem to be a wonderful invitation to listeners to contemplate on many topics which include creation of certain spaces where one can be oneself and relate to others, science, understanding of the environment we are in, and thoughts on grief, God, wisdom, the joy of sharing lived experiences vis-a-vis knowledge through other sources, and much, much more. Series 5, Episode 30: The Other Side of an Assistant Director | This is what a good amount of self-love can do

The chance to speak to someone who seemed to me a good mix of intelligence and intuition was something I couldn't let go off. This conversation proves my hunch was bang on and she answers questions with a refreshing candor and ease. Her experiences seem to hold her in good stead, as she talks about travelling alone, mountains, fears, her approach to art and life, and many other random things. She displays a clear sense of direction, fearlessness and wisdom, surprising me often. We also talk about her journey as an artist and her move to Direction in films. An amazing urban kind of chat, but still infused with genuine love of timeless things. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

A TVW Special | RM P2: Yoga - A way of life | Learning to live in the moment through yoga practice

The second part of the conversation talks in detail about the Iyengar technique and the perspective of both, Dr Rajvi Mehta and the organisation, itself.   We start with talking about how the body and mind are interconnected, and how the teacher works on studying the students while they are working practically on the technique.  She also shares a few motivating stories from her life thanks to her rich experiences with Iyengar Guruji. She has had decades of experience and her narration is filled with pride, love, and a sense of affinity not only for the technique and the organisation, but also with each aspect of it - people, patients, teaching, teachers...Dr Rajvi Mehta is such a wonderful example of leadership, humility, clarity, compassion and much more. I found this chat calming and inspiring. Do have a look and share it liberally.  May all beings benefit from this effort. May all be happy.

A TVW Special | RM P1: Yoga - A way of life RM P1 | Discussing the impact of yoga practice on all areas of life

In this first part of a fascinating two-part conversation, Dr Rajvi Mehta, one of Iyengar Yoga's most well-known practitioners and teachers, speaks to us about how she approaches yoga beyond the technique of asanas.

Her personal journey in yoga is truly a testament to how yoga helps bring clarity, confidence, wisdom besides the obvious physical and mental benefits. The manner in which she takes us through her growth in yoga helps us understand many facets of her and it becomes apparent that her story is one of the finest examples of how yoga enriches life.

I found the chat calming, enlightening and inspiring in equal measure - The stories, the Iyengar yoga way, the deeper truths of the body and mind, there is indeed a lot to learn from in this chat. Do listen in with attention. For the video check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 5, Episode 27: The Other Side of an Event Manager | A Mumbai type jugaad look at business

When the guest is as sorted as mine has been in this episode, he shoots off answers as quickly as I can manage to think of questions. It is interesting to have a Mumbai-type conversation: Short, quick, to-the-point, yet making many questions light by being pragmatic instead of spouting philosophy - and it is not easy questions either - he talks about shifting businesses, how to manage client expectations, learning to adapt in these fast-changing times. A good peek into a good mind. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

Series 5, Episode 22: The Other Side of a Human Be-ing| Talking about the journey of a full and well-lived life.

In one of the most amazing conversations ever featured on our channel, we find John Britton sharing his knowledge and wisdom with a sense of depth and lightness of being in the same breath. He fills his words with meaning and communicates a lot through expression and sometimes, silence. His way of summing up what I think is 'profound understanding' in simple language (not 'easy') forces me to take a pause many a time in this evocative chat. It is a rare kind of conversation, when someone opens up to real issues, being unsure, but at the same time manages to express with absolute clarity and confidence. It is this calm demeanour and ability to use words to convey genuine meaning, which marks this episode out from the many others I have had.
