As the former Co-President and owner of Ford Models, Joey Hunter has lived an incredible life with a career to match in the modeling and talent industry. Getting his start as a model in the 1960's, Joey was soon discovered by Jerry Ford (founder of Ford Models) and his modeling career began to take off. Though he wasn't able to break through in the film industry as well as he was in the modeling world; Joey eventually pivoted to become head booker of the Men's Division for Ford Models, and later the Co-President of the company. Joey was also involved in overseeing the women's division and helped represent some of the most sought after models in the world, including Brooke Shields, Elle MacPherson, and Naomi Campbell to name a few. This is about the time that Joey and Jerry coined the term "Supermodel" and began to build the brands of the soon to be mega stars.
In this episode, I recap two new interviews I did on the Syngency blog where I introduce Rune Model Management and Everi. Both are new talent management agencies that were created over the last year, and in an effort to highlight these newcomers...or not so newcomers... to the industry I created the "Introducing" blog series. This podcast is an audio version of that, and I hope you guys enjoy learning more about Rune and Everi. For further info, please visit the full interviews at www.syngency.com/blog
Morry Morgan is the founder of the Melbourne, Australian comedy school, School of Hard Knock Knocks. His journey in to the world of comedy was realized when he was about to give a presentation to a room full of business men and women and the projector he was using failed and he was asked by the technician to "stall". Using his sharp wits and sense of humor, Morry was able to entertain his audience with a few jokes. Deciding that he may need these skills again at some point he saw the need for a comedy school, and the School of Hard Knock Knocks was born. A comedy school "for keynote speakers, bucket list tickers, and comedians of the future!" One of the overarching principles that Morry strives to achieve is that of giving back. Throughout our conversation, Morry circles back to how each and every aspect of SOHKK is to contribute to the world of comedy, to add to it, and to help present/create opportunity for young comedians. Now in its fourth year, School of Hard Knock Knocks is available to students in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Find out more at www.SchoolofHardKnockKnocks.com
