Bassam Tarazi is a schooled mechanical/nuclear engineer whose career has spanned the worlds of mortgage banking, construction management, consulting, public speaking and marketing. A seasoned entrepreneur, his latest venture is Ready. Set. Finish. where he helps businesses and individuals go from “Here’s what I’m working on,” to “Here’s what I did.”. This is next to his day job as Head of Marketing at 71 & Change where they lead companies through a myriad of organizational changes.

He’s the author of: The Accountability Effect, In 5 Years You’ll Be Wrong, and Borders, Bandits And Baby Wipes. He or his work has been featured in Backpacker, Forbes, Young Entrepreneur, GOOD and many other outlets. A wanderer at heart, he’s also traveled to 73 countries and all 7 continents, having had such absurd experiences such as getting to Everest Base Camp and the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, driving from London to Mongolia in a 42 HP car, living on an Alaskan glacier for 8 days, surviving a run-in with Fidel Castro, and being hunted by a pig-tailed macaque in the jungles of Borneo (Long stories. He’ll need some Scotch for those.)

When he’s not doing things that might make a good story one day, he’s enjoying time with his wife in Portland, OR.

Everyone remembers the hoops they grew up on — that distinct sound of the swish of the net, the slap of the bank shot on the backboard, and the thousands of imaginary walk-off buzzer beaters. BUCKETS came to be organically as a way to preserve and admire the neighborhood hoops throughout our city, Portland, OR.

Three years and 350+ hoops photographed later, our ode to the city culminates in a coffee table book of these neighborhood hoops.

Green Bus Cafe, is a mobile cafe operating out of a retro-green 1976 Volkswagen Bus, planning on opening this 2020. This mobile cafe features nutrient-dense superfood lattes, specialty coffee, and plant-based breakfast foods. The Green Bus provides an entirely vegan, mostly gluten-free and nutritionally packed café experience. The Green Bus aims to be a truly “green” café. Working diligently to be more sustainable by off-setting its carbon footprint and reducing its environmental impact. The Green Bus will be serving food and beverages in compostable and biodegradable packaging, operating on LPG clean burning fuel generators and donating a portion of every purchase to local and national environmental nonprofit organizations.   • Shot ideas (what are some of your day-to-day activities)
  • Plan for about 1-2 month turn around

  1. More people inside, better to start now than in 2021 when feel even more behind
  2. Kids are back in school (should be focused during the day)

Dorice Horenstein was born and raised in Israel and moved to Portland after completing her service as an officer in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). She worked in Jewish education for more than 30 years, transferring her love to Jewish traditions and the Hebrew language to more than 1,000 students in private and class settings. Today, the world is her classroom. With her book Moments of the Heart: four relationships everyone should experience to live wholeheartedly, Dorice uses Jewish Wisdom, the knowledge of the Hebrew language and personal stories to spread positive messages and inspire all groups to live a better, more focused and enjoyable life!
