Elliot Dawes and Adam Rossiter are the co-founders of Bulk previously known as bulk powders.

Bulk is an active nutrition company providing some of the best premium protein powders and shakes, vitamins and mineral supplements, post work out formulas, protein bars and so much more.

Elliot and Adam met at university and like so many of us quickly got into fitness and more specifically the gym. But unlike so many of us, they saw an opportunity having started experimented with various protein supplements to start something themselves and took the leap of faith the create bulk in 2006.

They borrowed money from their parents and invested what they could of their student loan, which accumulated to about £6,000.

15 years later, in 2021 bulk is forecast to reach £100 million in revenue.

IBoth Adam and Elliot are fantastic guys, have achieved so much and really deserve all their success. I honestly came away from this conversation on such a high. We talk all about how they built their company from the student halls to the enterprise it is today. How they pitched Anthony Joshua as a brand ambassador, how they decided their roles would change after 15 years and who would become CEO and who would focus on growth strategy plus their biggest learning along the way and how teaching £100 million in revenue is just the beginning of the bulk journey.

Today they are completely rebranding bulk powders as bulk and have made huge moves to drive sustainability, with 93% of their products now in compostable pouches which has reduced their single use plastics by more than 15m pieces.

What I would ask you to consider as you listen to this is the following. What idea have you been sitting on? Have you had a niggling thought in the back of your mind to start something, create something or start working towards dream. It might not be as big as that. It could be something small but you’re still procrastinating. We have a tendency to wait until everything is just perfect before we act, but the truth is that perfect moment is likely never going to arrive. We will never have every boxed ticked and the great thing is You don’t have to. We don’t need everything perfectly aligned! In this episode the lads even talk about how at one time as an enterprise business they realised hadn’t actually addressed their culture! With that said, don’t wait for the perfect moment. Just do it.

Sir Clive Woodward is a former Rugby player and Coach, most recognised for his outstanding contribution to the sport of rugby through his coaching career. Clive spent 7 years as head coach of England between 1997 and 2004, coaching them to 3 successful six nations championships, one of which was a grand slam - and of course coaching them to the single greatest achievement in England rugby history and one of the greatest England sporting achievements full stop, winning the rugby World Cup in 2003.

Clive coached England through 83 games winning 59 - a massive 71% win ratio with nearly 3000 total points scored and many of his revolutionary management and coaching strategies have been adopted by leaders in sport and business all over the world today.

Clive also led the British lions tour against New Zealand in 2005.

After rugby Clive went on to become team GB’s director of sport from 2006 to 2012 helping to deliver huge success during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Today He is an itv sport pundit recently covering the rugby World Cup and six nations. He is also a sport and business consultant often working with large corporates or leading sports clubs, helping them to reach higher levels of performance.

In 2004 He was knighted by the queen at Buckingham palace, for services to sport and In 2011 Clive was inducted into the world rugby hall of fame.

Ollie is a former military man, initially a royal marine commando. After 5 years service he was recommended for SAS selection - the grueling 6 month selection process finished with Ollie as one of only 5 from 250 to pass and be inducted into the special forces as part of the SBS, the special boat service.

During his 6 years in the special forces he undertook countless high profile missions including hostage rescue, counter narcotics, counter terrorism, homeland security and counter insurgency.

On leaving the SBS Ollie worked as private security both in Iraq and Southeast Asia.

Ollie is arguably most recognised for his part os one of the founders of the incredibly popular TV show SAS.WDW - which documents recruits going through a simulated SAS selection. Ollie is the CEO of break point, an organisation for both public and corporate which focuses on shifting people’s limiting beliefs. He’s a speaker and a writer too. His books ‘Break point’ and 'Battle Ready' where both Sunday times best sellers - and he now has a new book ‘Scar tissue’, which unlike his others is a fiction which has just dropped.

He also recently launched battle ready 360. A gym in a box that can be taken anywhere to train anytime.

This conversation blew me away. We discuss Ollie career development and his desire to be himself and not conform and how that’s impacted him. We talk about his incredibly specific and powerful morning routine and what each practice does for him. He opens up about how last year a trip to Costa Rica which involved an  psychedelic ceremony (ayahuasca) allowed him to finally get over the trauma he experienced as a 10 year old boy, when a 50kilo chimp attacked him, with Ollie narrowly missing death. This was a crazy story!

Plus we talk how to use visualisation to achieve anything we want! We also go into what the ‘system’ is designed to push us into a life that lacks meaning. We essentially put the world to rights in this one!

Cecilia is the co-founder of RWL ( https://www.resultswellnesslifestyle.com/ ) along side business partner Lucy Mecklenburgh, a celebrity personal trainer and huge inspiration to so many.

Born in Paris, Cecilia grew up in Tunisia, New York and Miami before coming to London in the 1990's, and finally settling in Essex. Cecilia’s younger years were spent in hospitality working in restaurants, chalets and managing hotels.

Her pivot into the world of fitness happened as a result of a huge personal challenge in her mid-thirties. Cecilia suffered from postnatal depression following the birth of her son Fabio and found that whilst antidepressants made her less depressed, she felt ‘less’ of everything else; less happy, less energetic and less joyous.

After being on medication for 6 months and desperate to find a different solution, Cecilia turned to exercise and started training with one of Miami’s top personal trainers. Her life changed and she quickly came off Medication and found her natural high using exercise as a therapeutic method and form of meditation.

Cecilia felt inspired to promote the power of exercise to other women, and upon moving back to the U.K become a Personal Trainer herself and opened her first Boutique PT studio in 2008. A second studio soon followed, where she met fellow co-founder Lucy Mecklenburgh and they started what would become a multi-million pound business.

In 2013 Lucy and Cecilia’s fitness brand launched to become the first of its kind online Fitness Platform in the U.K, first as Results with Lucy and now rebranded for 2020, as Results Wellness Lifestyle, with a community of 500,000 followers across social media.

As Cecilia approaches 5 million paid for workout sessions from her client base, Cecilia is almost certainly now the U.K's No.1 Personal Trainer. She brings a level of energy, love and passion to her unique brand of fitness, that radiates through to those following along and i certainly felt that energy speaking with her and I’m so pleased I’m able to share her story with you today.

Spencer is an entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Clean Co and Eden Rocks Jewelry and a television personality.

He was first brought into our lives as the central figure in tv series Made In Chelsea. Since, he has done some much in tv as a presenter, but also as a contestant winning the Jump in 2017, reaching the final of celebrity master chef in 2018 and even winning a BAFTA as part of the made in Chelsea cast in 2011.

Spencer also has his own show with wife vogue Williams - Spencer, Vogue and baby too. Which was so popular it came back for a second season the same year. I actually loved watching both too!

But, what I was most interested to hear about was Spencer’s life as an entrepreneur and how he built Clean Co and transformed his life through sobriety.

Clean co is truthfully what I have been crying out for. An extremely low alcohol replacement to traditional alcoholic drinks. Clean co launched a clean gin and a clean rum to start with and I was fascinated to hear all about Spencer’s vision of broadening their product offering beyond liquor and essentially striving for world domination in this market! I was so impressed by his mindset, his desire to help people and the clarity of his vision.

Clean co just secured a further £7million investment on top of the 2mil investment they had at the beginning of the year, so a massive congrats to the team. I’ll raise a clean gin to that.

This episode is with professional footballer, and former Watford FC & Jamaica Captain, Adrian Mariappa. 

Adrian, or Mapps as best better known, has had a 15 year professional career spending 10 of those years in the best footballing league in the world, the English premier league. He’s made over 400 appearances for club, most of them for His boyhood club Watford and 50 appearances Internationally for Jamaica. Name any footballer of notoriety and Mapps has played against them and likely held his own. Cristiano Ronaldo, yes. Messi, yes. Suarez, Hazard, Henry, yes. He’s reached two FA cup finals narrowly missing out on winning both and as a natural born leader was the captain of his club and country.

But it’s not all been smooth sailing. At 15 he was told he would be released by Watford. We hear all about how he turned to basketball and athletics at this time to improve his jump height and speed. We hear about the many times he’s been at clubs, including Crystal Palace, where he’s had a change in manager who has dropped him, so time and time again he’s had to fight to get his place back. At one time being the 7th choice centre back.

Thomas is a professional footballer for West Brom & Wales - and the Founder & CEO of The Turmeric Co.

His career started as a youth player at arsenal and then reading and in 2007 he made the reading first team going immediately out on loan for two seasons before going back to reading where he had great success - including being part of their 2011-2012 championship winning season. He made his premier League debut in 2012 !

In 2016 he signed for West Brom where he still plays today and is currently having his most prolific season of his career as he settles into his new number 9 role under manager Slaven Bilic. Thomas currently has 336 professional appearances for club with 51 goals. And 42 appearances internationally for wales with 5 goals - including most notably his unbelievable goal against Belgium in the 2016 euros - perhaps his most career defining moment to date.

Beyond this, in 2018 Thomas founded the turmeric co . Having experienced 2 potentially career ending injuries he began researching dietary supplements that would help manage his pain, inflammation and immune system - his 15 years of research and developed finally led to the best in class selection of turmeric, ginger and beetroot shots they bought to market.

Thomas is such an incredibly impressive individual. Jeff is a presenter and tv personality who has featured on so many amazing programs - and is without doubt a peak performer regarding his career as a presenter featuring on such shows as itv this morning, the xtra factor and the X factor live tour, ITV2’s I’m a celebrity get me out of here now and ok tv. He is also a regular on shows like loose women. He is also a presenter on talk sport radio! And so many more.

Jeff’s has been involved in a number of reality tv shows, originally shipwrecked in 2001 - dancing on ice in 2011 and most recently celebrity sas.wdw. He’s also very well known for his relationship and his two sons he had with the very popular Jade Goody which has meant he’s had to endure living a lot of his life in the public eye.

Jeff has seen and experienced so much and as much as I’m impressed with his stellar career in tv and everything he has achieved, what I really wanted to speak with him about was what he does away from tv.

A lot of people won’t know that Jeff is a life coach. He works with clients helping them to improve their lives in a number of ways - one of which is through NLP as Jeff is a qualified Nuero-linguistics programming coach. A lot of the amazing work he does is around living and managing grief. Jeff’s also written a book about his life and experiences with grief called the ‘grief survival guide’ available on amazon and audible narrated by the man himself.

But he’s not just a life coach - he’s also a football coach at West Ham academy working with players and coaching staff.

He’s basically a legend. A former footballer like myself - in truth we had so many synchronicities. I called Jeff a few days before we recorded not knowing that we’d still on the phone for 45 minutes talking non stop! There was a lot I didn’t know about him that resonated with me and he helped me out a huge amount on the call and indeed on this podcast too. So I can’t wait for you to hear it.

Jack Nowell is a professional rugby player for Exeter Chiefs, England & The British Lions.

Mostly as a winger and occasionally a full back or centre - Jack has featured 122 times for Exeter since singing in 2012, getting over the line 33 times! That’s a try nearly every 90minutes of club rugby. An incredible achievement!

In 2014, he was called up to the England first team and hasn’t looked back since. Clocking up 42 appearances and 14 tries maintaining his incredible try scoring consistently at club, but for country.

In 2017 Jack was called up to what most consider the biggest honor of any pro rugby players career, when he went to Japan as part of the British and Irish lions squad. Scoring twice in his stand out appearance against the chiefs.

He’s such an exciting rugby player and clearly the ultimate example of a peak performer.

He’s a man after my own heart - covered in tattoos and some questionable haircuts - and is the ultimate example of someone who is completely comfortable being themselves and the exact type of person I wanted to have on the podcast from day one. I love people who don’t care what other people think and are just so happy being themselves.

Jack is such a positive person too - I remember I left this conversation with so much energy and that’s thanks to his mindset and the way he articulates himself. It was just such a pleasure to have him on the podcast and I hope you feel the boost in energy I felt after hearing his story.

Adam Gemili is a professional British sprinter.

Adam is and has been the fastest Team GB sprinter over the last 8 years. He won gold at the junior athletic championships in Barcelona in 2012 in the 100m - before competiting at his first Olympics at London 2012 after training as a sprinter for only 4 months! It’s an incredible achievement where he did himself proud, finishing third in the semi final narrowly missing out in a place in the final with a time of 10.06s.

He continued to develop his speed and style and also raced in 200m - he quickly found success winning the silver medal at the 2014 commonwealth games beaten just by Kemar bailey- Cole of Jamaica - and in 2015 back to the 100m Adam became the 100th man ever in history to break the 10 second barrier - clocking a time of 9.97s.

He then reached the 200m final at Rio 2016 and had heartbreak when three sprinters crossed the line together and the photo finish showed Adam

Missed out for the Olympic bronze medal by 6thousanths of a second!

But He then went on to win gold in the 4 x 100m relay in the 2017 world championships and silver in the   2019 world championships when the guys set a European record of 37.36 s.

In this episode We talk all about what’s it’s been like to go on this journey as a sprinter and fly the flag for British sprinting - 100m and 200m events in what is certainly the most romantic event in athletics.

Foxy is a former royal marine commando and special forces sergeant. He joined the marines at 16 and served for 10 years before passing the grueling selection process for the special forces serving with the SBS. In 2012, foxy was diagnosed with ptsd and discharged from the military - something that he speaks very openly and candidly about in his book. He’s an author of two books ‘Battle Scars’ a Sunday times best seller, the story of his battles with mental health and ‘Life Under Fire’ - his new book coming out later this year.   Foxy is an adventurer and was part of ‘team essence’ who rowed across the longest part of the Atlantic Ocean in 2016. He has trekked to the North Pole and last year competed a near 2,000 mile kayak trip along the Yukon river in Alaska.

He is a motivational speaker delivering talks in big corporates and possibly what he’s most well known for : foxy is part of the hugely popular tv series SAS.WDW, where he and the other directing staff or DS take recruits through hostile and unforgiving warfare environments to test their physical and mental strength.

Foxy is also the co-founder of rock2recovery - a mental health charity supporting former and serving members of the armed forces who are suffering from any trauma they may have experienced. And aside from that he is just an absolute legend.
