Podcast #29: Támar Talks with Attorney Stephanie Hay (Entertainment Attorney)
The Music Industry has seen its constant woes about ownership of Masters. From Sam Cooke to Michael Jackson to Prince to Ray Charles to Taylor Swift, artists have not been silent about the lack of ownership of Masters. As of this week, Mr. Kanye West has taken the conversation global, in a more vigilant way. Not only is he sounding the alarm for other artists to come to the table and talk, but some people are not understanding the totality of what owning your Masters truly means as a form of inheritance. Ashley Tamar interviews Stephanie Hay, a female entertainment lawyer who uncovers three grueling concerns: 1. Why is it important to own your Masters, 2.  What's in Kanye's contract that, to most knowledgeable attorneys, is concerning and, 3. How we can solve this re-surfacing topic and no longer overlook what's periling  artists and the creatives-to-come.

Podcast #27: Digital Media & Streaming with Barry Benson
Barry Benson, President of Stratus Digital Marketing, is breaking records by the numbers. From producing one of the first rap shows to being a drummer, Mr. Benson strategically places his clients in top positions to see a return on their hard-streaming, chart topping hits while teaching about the algorithms that tell us where, when and how music is being consumed. Mr. Benson does not tip-toe with answering questions about the new streaming models and how you too can work with him. Grab a pen, paper and take notes. Mr. Benson gives valuable insight into how to garner streams from your hard creative work.

Podcast #26: $$ Assistance 4 Musicians & Artists Impacted by Coronavirus, Hethyr Verhoef Interview (Broadway, Stage Manager), New Single and More
We've all been affected by this pandemic: the Coronavirus. Whether it has affected us mentally, physically, emotionally, or financially, we are all, at the same time, to some degree, perplexed. What's next? Where's the help? Where's our faith and where's can be find peace? In this podcast, I desire to share my reflections on what's happening (from a spiritual perspective) and how we are coping with this pandemic, yet I'm including some helpful tips for my fellow musicians, artists, and creatives as to where to seek financial cushion during this time. I am also sharing an interview from Broadway Stage Manager and my dear friend Hethyr Verhoef about her plight to pursuing her passion in Theatre. From serving tacos at a taco stand and growing up in a foster home, Hethyr knew nothing of the stage management world. It took her spunky personality and patience to get an open door to calling shows such as Broadways' "A Night with Janis Joplin." And of course, on Tamar Talks, we  always launch new music as a "You-heard-it-hear-first" from independent syrens: Ashley Tamar, Alex Isley, Lenora and Mallory. Stay prayed up and watchful. God is still in control.

Podcast #24 with Shep Crawford
There's a word that is not often used in the Entertainment Business: Loyalty. However, I can honestly say that Shep Crawford, a Grammy-Award winning musician, father, songwriter and record producer exudes loyalty. A dear friend and big brother, I was excited at Shep agreeing to share his story on my podcast. He is best known for writing mega, classic hits such as Whitney Houston's Same Script, Different Cast, Deborah Cox's Nobody's Supposed to Be Here, Tamia's Stranger in My House, Sisqó's Incomplete, and Kelly Price's As We Lay.  He is the founder and pastor of The Experience Christian Ministries in Los Angeles, California in which I was able to personally experience the presence of God, hospitality and love as soon as I walked through the front doors. If you want to hear from a young, veteran in the Music Business who has never compromised his style or his stance, this is an interview you don't want to miss. I also announce some hot topics about some new changes in the Music Modernization Act and yes, I am back on tour in the fall with Broadway's "A Night with Janis Joplin."
