Normally I keep quiet as God instructs us in the book of Matthew, however, this time I am speaking up because I am inviting you to join me for the next 21 days for a time of prayer.

A word of encouragement for my husband

When there is something we cannot figure out, we just have to call for help.

When going through different experiences in life, we tend to confuse what it looks like to set a boundary and build a wall. Join me on this episode as I share the difference and why it is important to know the difference.

You did it and you don't have to hide in the shadows.

Don't get so comfortable in the past that you are unable to enjoy the present and cannot embrace the future.

A friend came to me, but I was only able to give her limited advice based on one experience.

When I started my healing journey I thought it was going to be a quick process. However, I found out I was wrong. Through tears, anger, and frustration I learned healing is a journey not a destination.

One of the first times I shared my experience with divorce, I heard the words "not another divorce story." This was hard to hear and very discouraging so I decided not to share.

Karen Byrd is a mother, artist, natural hair enthusiast and business woman from California. In 2011, Karen created Natural Girls United, a one-woman business that gives makeovers to ethnic fashion dolls. She replaces their straight hair with kinky and curly textures, to have the look and feel of ethnic-inspired hair styles.

What started as a hobby has grown into a full-time business. Afros, locs, curls, kinky hair, braids and more — Karen makes them all! She has always understood the need for our young girls and women to have positive images of themselves; because it impacts self-esteem, confidence, and how we feel about ourselves overall. Her hope is that her dolls will help others to recognize their beauty and find joy in having unique hair, skin tones and features. It’s a goal to show everyone that our beauty is amazing and worth celebrating.
