Black Women Creating Rural Change
Upper Big Tracadie Elder Mary Desmond speaks about the positive aspect and the challenging aspects of living in a small rural Black community. She also speaks about her involvement with local politics and how Black women have inspired her to be the woman she is today. Mrs Desmond also tells us about the tradition of quilting and how she is helping to preserve the art through the loyalist quilting project in her community.

I sit down and chat Angee Bowden. She is an artist, activist, writer and Mother. We share in conversation about Feminism, Black Feminist Thought education and mentorship and experiences of growing up in NewGlasgow, Nova Scotia. Angee speaks about her return to the "Mother Land " an emotional and life alternating return to Ghana, Africa and the need to raise resilient children.
