The Symbols
On this episode of the Tarot Coven ‘cast, we’re talking all about symbols in the Tarot. This is such a broad topic and there’s no way we could cover all of the symbols in just one episode, so it’s a conversation we’ll be coming back to in the future for sure. For now, we dish on some basics about how what’s behind the symbols can be viewed both objectively and subjectively, how to incorporate symbols into your readings, and why it’s good to be aware of repeating symbols. Then, we dive into an exploration of six symbols – lizards, mountains, the Moon, white roses, bodies of water, and stars. Since Jessie wasn't able to join us this time around, she answered the show's opening listener question over on our Instagram page - link below! Thanks for listening and keep making magic! The Shadow
On this episode of the Tarot Coven ‘cast, we’re talking all about Impostor Syndrome and shadow work. We offer some insight into what these topics are, how they’ve affected us personally, and how we can use Tarot and other resources to help us navigate these things. Plus, Jechanovia’s cat makes a special appearance and lightens the mood for us! Seriously, though, shadow work – or whatever you might want to call it – is particularly important right now. We need to be addressing the parts of ourselves that we maybe don’t want to admit exist; the parts we’d prefer to ignore because it makes life easier. This is a necessary step in becoming better allies for our BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities and families. We need to get out of our own heads, and stop letting fear get in the way of speaking up or taking a stand. As we mention in the show, our podcast and advice, and Tarot itself, are not a substitute for therapy or seeking professional help with your mental health. Below, we’ve got some links to free mental health resources, for you or anyone in need! Thanks for listening and keep making magic! As usual, we outline a few ways to celebrate the day, with food, drink, Tarot, and more. We also chat about how this year’s Solstice is accompanied by a Solar Eclipse, and the parallels we see between Litha and our inner child. If you want to dig deeper into themes we brought up on the show, be sure to check out the Coven’s Litha spread – created just for YOU, lovely listeners! Thanks for listening and keep making magic! The Sweet Cards
On this episode of the Tarot Coven ‘cast, we’re talking all about the sweet cards of the Tarot. You know, those cards that give you the warm and fuzzies; the ones you can’t help but smile at whenever they pop up. First we chat about a few of our own fave sweet cards, then we explore how to read a sweet card when it comes up in a challenging spread position, and then we offer up some suggestions on how to work with the energy of these cards anytime we want - no need to wait until they come up in a reading.   The book Jasmin refers to when discussing the Eight of Cups, and how it has a bit of The Fool energy, isn't a book after all! It's something she learned while taking Lindsay Mack's course, Tarot for the Wild Soul.   Thanks for listening and keep making magic! The Sticky Cards
On this week’s episode we're talking all about what we like to call the sticky, spiky cards of the Tarot. You know the ones, they just get under your skin whenever they come up in a reading. Some of our personal picks for these cards may surprise you – hint: none of us picked Death or The Tower! It’s definitely a subjective topic. Everyone will have their own idea of what makes a card prickly, but we hope our conversation can still provide you with some useful insight on how to work through the discomfort these cards can provoke!  Thanks for listening and keep making magic!
