Frontman and bassist Falyn Walsh, drummer Noel Agtane, and guitarist Lalo Gonzalez Deetz talk all about the inception of the band, musical influences, the East Bay scene, 924 Gilman Street, and getting signed to Asian Man Records. This episode is full of vinyl love as everyone shares a little about their current collections, past collections (Falyn talks about how all his records were destroyed), rare albums, and wish list items. The married duo (Kjetil Nernes and Karin Park) that makes up noise rock group Årabrot have a chat with Chris and Antonio about their new record Norwegian Gothic. They talk about what inspired the record, which directly involves the music in their vinyl collection, how they finished recording just before lockdown began, what it's like recording with Steve Albini, and how they came to live in a deconsecrated Church in Sweden. Kjetil goes in depth with his decision to go on tour even after receiving a diagnosis of throat cancer back in 2014 and how it was a formative experience for the band. He tells us what inspired the transition from being a scratch DJ (we learn about maxi-singles, so cool) into the world of instrumental beat production.
