Episode 5 - Mary Dawn Vanderbush, Chef Daniel & Doris with a D - Sept. 28, 2022

In this week's In the Biz segment, we meet Mary Dawn "MD" Vanderbush, owner of The Gin Mill in Ft. Pierce and Bogeys & Stogeys in Port St. Lucie, FL.  A true entrepreneur with some crazy ideas, she came up with a brilliant one that would not only fulfill a dream - but it would help restaurant & bar owners and their staff along the way.  The fact that there's a "big-ass rock star bus" involved is the icing on the cake!  MD's Gin Mill Channel

In our Bad Karen / Good Karen segment, we found a channel on YouTube called gottakidtofeed where real actors read real Yelp reviews. This is literally one of the bests thing on YouTube so we decided to borrow their brilliance.  In this episode, award winning voice actor Therese Plummer reads a real review from a Yelper in Brooklyn who loses her mind because Dunkin' Donuts didn't put enough cream cheese on her bagel.   This is GOLD.

In our Local Love segment, Chef Daniel Diaz and Doris "with a D" of SoFloDining let us know about one of their favorite hidden gems in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea - La Capricciosa.

And today's for Food Song, we dig up a doozy from Weird Al Yankovic - La La La La Lasagna!

Episode 4 - Danny Costanzo, Marie Smith - August 31, 2022

Episode 4 - Danny Costanzo, Marie Smith - August 31, 2022

In this week's In the Biz segment, a conversation with "The Plant Father" (said in a Marlon Brando voice), Danny Costanzo - founder & co-owner of Plant Based Mafia, a Vegan Italian restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens, FLA whose motto is "We Don't Whack Animals. We Whack Plants"!

In our Bad Karen / Good Karen segment, we found a channel on YouTube called gottakidtofeed where real actors read real Yelp reviews.  Freaking hilarious.  Comedian Judy Gold reads a review from a Yelper who has a meltdown when she found out that a restaurant she went to used Barilla pasta.  Our Good Karen is probably one of the best and most thoughtful reviews we've ever heard and it just happens to be about our first guest's restaurant - Plant Based Mafia.

In our Local Love segment, Marie Smith, who runs the Socially Distanced Supper Club (Boynton/Lake Worth) Group on Facebook, gives some love to Agliolio in Boynton Beach.

And keeping with the Italian theme, today's Food Song is One Meatball - sung by The Andrews Sisters!

Episode 3 - Jen Reyneri, Karen & Larry - August 17, 2022

Episode 3 - Jen Reyneri, Karen & Larry - August 17, 2022

In this week's In the Biz segment, we take a ride through the European countryside with Jen Reyneri, co-owner of The Grove Cucina & Wine Bar in Hobe Sound, Florida. Jen and husband Luis packed up everything - including a baby - and went to live "everywhere grapes are grown". Jen tells of their fascinating adventures and how that experience would later inspire them to open their own restaurant.

In our Bad Karen / Good Karen segment, we rate snooty guest Maria, who no one could please, and we tell the story of the amazing Aaron Collins who had an idea that went on to help more than 100 servers.

In our Local Love segment, listeners Karen Zacka & Larry Breder recommend Tacos del Pueblo - a locally-owned, hidden oasis in Lantana, FL.   Karen also suggested this week's Food Song - It's Raining Tacos! by Parry Gripp & BooneBum (you'll have this tune in your head for DAYS!)
