3 - A Blind Insight, Simon Brown.
Today i had the opportunity to sit down with simon brown, a former mechanical engineer in the British army for over 10 years. Simon had a fairly normal life up until 2009 when he was attacked by the enemy in Iraq which lead to him losing almost 3\4 of his vision. He talks his life in the army up until that day and the recovery following it which wasn’t easy but simon was determined to make a difference not only in his life but others as well. We also talk about how blind veterans UK helped him get back on his feet and what his aims are for the future.

In the second instalment of A Blind Insight, I talk to Tokyo Paralympics hopeful, Kyle Coon. He tells me about losing his site to cancer as a child. Being told he can’t pack groceries as a teen all the way to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, completing an Ironman triathlon multiple times and going on many more incredible adventures. He also talked about how close he was to starting the trials for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and that he hopes he can get to the rescheduled event next year. Enjoy!

This is the first episode of my brand-new series, a blind insight. I will be sitting down with a number of different people who have different variation of Visual impairment or blindness and allowing them to tell their story from the very beginning. My first guest is the lovely Nina Chesworth who has been visually impaired since an extremely young age but sadly experienced a couple of accidents which led to her being completely blind today. We talk about the things that she seen as therapy, her passion for wanting to create a community amongst fellow visually impaired and blind people as well as her book that she is working on. 4 - Pint and a chinwag with Stuart Linnell MBE
I sit down with Stuart Linnell, a man who has worked in the broadcasting industry for 50 years, starting with local BBC radio in Birmingham all the way to BBC Coventry and Warwickshire now. He talks about what radio was like in the 70s and 80s when local radio was very much a new thing to many people in the West Midlands and how it has changed over the decades. We also discuss being a Coventry city fan throughout the 80s including the unforgettable 1987 FA Cup win. Stuart also speaks about the present time of being a Coventry city fan and how the job that Mark Robins is doing is very similar to what Jimmy Hill did. He tells me about growing up down south, the adversity he faced and how he saw it as a challenge which he accepted. He also talks about how he found out he was partially deaf and what if any, effect that had on his life. We then go on to chat about his night life and what encouraged him to start getting into producing/mixing music which eventually lead to him performing at one of his favourite venues in Brighton.
