Tales From The History Fair (The Pros and Cons of Inquiry-Based Learning)
It's another episode of Teach4x Freeform! Available in FULL COLOR VIDEO on Spotify and YouTube. In this episode, The Teach4x Team discusses a Freshman History Fair that Erik and special guests Jasmine Mendez and Scott Southerland put on in the third quarter of the 2023-2024 school year. The Freshman History Fair took place across three 9th-grade glasses and students spent ten weeks learning about concepts relating to race, hierarchy, and power, before embarking on an inquiry project to develop an understanding of a current issue relating to these concepts. This process wrapped up with the students creating posters and presenting them to their classmates, other classes, and visiting teachers! Watch or listen for insights gleaned from this process, particularly if you're an educator interested in implementing inquiry into your practice or putting on a history fair!
