People can't make meaningful relationships with a large group.  

Rather, people find life-long relationships within small groups.  

People will come to your church to hear the preacher or for the ministries you off their family.  

But they will become life-time participants and fully-committed disciples because of the relationships they make.

Rick DuBose was elected general treasurer of the Assemblies of God at the 57th General Council in August 2017. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and the Executive Presbytery. DuBose oversees the Division of Treasury, which includes Corporate Accounting, Buildings and Properties and IT Services.

Prior to his election to the Assemblies of God Executive Leadership Team, DuBose served as superintendent of the North Texas District from 2007-2017 and assistant district superintendent from 2005-2007. He pastored Sachse Assembly of God in North Dallas from 1987-2005. Prior to that, DuBose served a pastorate in Hallsville, Texas, and began his ministry as a youth minister in Mesquite, Texas.

He and his wife, Rita, have two daughters, a son, and eight grandsons.

Dr. Melissa Alfaro is the Under 40 Representative on the Assemblies of God Executive Presbytery.

She and her husband of 16 years, Rev. J. Alfaro, serve as the Senior Pastors of El Tabernaculo Assembly of God in Houston, Texas. She is a writer and blogger for the Assemblies of God publication church resource My Healthy Church and loves to chronicle her personal journey on her blog Melissa’s Memoirs. It is her desire to help individuals draw closer to God as they live out their God-given purpose and enjoy the journey. Her newest and greatest assignment and delight is being “mommy” to her newborn baby boy

Over the past few days, we’ve been sharing talks from ISM’s Leadership Event: The Summit.  

Eran Holt blessed us with his wisdom as he gave our student pastors some inspiring talks on the why of youth ministry and how to create healthy cultures.  

Today, we’re going from philosophy to practicality.   

In this talk, Eran talks to both our kids and youth pastors on how to effectively transition incoming 5th graders turned 6th graders.   This is one of those talks where Eran gives real life examples of his successes and failures from his own ministry years. What’s worked for him and didn’t work for him. 

If you really take in this talk, take notes, you’ll walk away with a game plan in how to raise up the children in your church  

Also, Eran even did a little bit of Q & A at the end, so don’t miss out on that.

He has trained pastors and church planters on five continents, holds two master’s degrees and two doctorates, and has written dozens of articles and books. Ed is a columnist for Outreach Magazine and Catalyst Monthly, serves on the advisory council of Sermon Central and Christianity Today’s Building Church Leaders, and is frequently cited or interviewed in news outlets such as USAToday and CNN.

Ed is Visiting Professor of Research and Missiology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Visiting Research Professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has taught at fifteen other colleges and seminaries. He also serves on the Church Services Team of the International Mission Board.

Now at Wheaton College, Ed holds the Billy Graham Distinguished Chair of Church, Mission, and Evangelism and serves as the Executive Director of the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism and the Chair of the Evangelism and Leadership Program in the Graduate School.
