Social media helps boost CBD online sales
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  CBD products are gaining in popularity….and are showing up in both retail stores around the country and online.  And companies like CBD Essence are making use of social media to boost online sales.  And while sites like WebMD are far from sold on the benefits and safety …citing the lack of regulation…CBD Essence CEO and founder Don Ballou says he is creating health food store quality products…oils and candies… that can be helpful to many people… “A lot of companies are making good CBD products, they’re entrepreneurs, they’re opportunists..but again they’re not health food afficianados.” CBD oils and products depending on how they are made…are legal in most, if not all states.  Find more info at www.cbdessence.net.  You can find us at Techstination.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.

Singing Machine partners with CBS for Carpool Karaoke The Mic
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  Singing Machine has partnered with CBS…to create Carpool Karaoke… a microphone designed to add some fun to those road trips.  But unlike what you see the Late Late Show’s James Corden doing on TV….this isn’t designed for driver participation.  It broadcasts to an open FM spot on your radio..  then pair it via Bluetooth with your phone.  And says the company’s Radelys Comas.. “You know James Corden, everytime he is about to start singing with one of his celebrity guests in his car, he asks them…do you mind if I listen to some music?  And so that is the exact thing that you will hear.  It works with pretty much any music or karaoke app that you may be using.” Fun…of course.  Some apps will give you the words along with the music.  Singing Machine’s Carpool Karaoke sells for about sixty dollars. Piper updates computer building and coding for kids
Piper updates computer building and coding for kids  Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.   Building a working computer and learning to code with it may sound like a lot for kids as young as seven to take on, but Piper Computer has been making that possible with its fun kits….like the new Piper Computer Kit 2 and a new command center for building a programming a game controller as well.  That’s designed for 13 year olds and up.  We love what they are doing and Piper’s Chief Academic Officer Melissa Belardi says... “We believe that every student should be armed with the skills they need for the 21st century as well as for the automation of the workforce and jobs we don’t even know will exist yet.  And so that’s what we’re trying to do for students.  Ensuring that they are digitally fluent and they have 21st century skills in problem solving, critical thinking and effective collaboration.” The approach at Piper is unique, engaging…and we think…very smart.  Find more at www.playpiper.com. Computer storage is evolving
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  Computer storage has been evolving….from traditional hard drives with spinning disks, to solid state drives using SATA connections or SSDs….and now to what are called  PCIe NVME drives.   Kingston Technology will be launching its new A2000 drive this summer and says the company’s David Leong… “NVME uses a little bit more power than SATA and it gives off more heat than SATA SSDs.  So with an A2000, it is single sided, meaning the controller and the chips are all on one side, so it’s super thin, goes up to a terabyte and it’s a little bit slower than its older cousin the KC2000.  It’s perfect for laptops.” And it will still be considerably faster than SATA drives.  What it means for us consumers is more storage in smaller spaces. You can find us at Techstination.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.

Countable online political discourse site designed to inform
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  When it comes to politics…it is easy to get overwhelmed with information and often misinformation.  A Web site called Countable.us aims to cut through much of the clutter …giving users the basic facts about legislation…how their representatives are voting…and provides ways to engage with those representatives and others. COO Paul Stich says it is a bi-partisan platform… “It gives you a way to engage…do you support this..or disagree with it and then leave comments.  And we moderate the comments section very well..so we keep it respectful.  But we also keep it balanced, so we make sure the comments aren’t all focused, directed from the liberals or all from the conservative side.” Kind of an old concept…made new again.
