For entrepreneurs, the most important part of your mindset is developing, building and strengthening your positive mindset. Do you want to know how I stay energized? Listen to this podcast to understand how I deflect negativity like Teflon.
I’ve had to move away from Anchor and condense all of my podcasts under one podcast Be Authentic Zone. Teflon Don Positive Mindset episodes are still dropping - under the podcast Be Authentic Zone!! Please subscribe to Be Authentic Zone!!
I’ve always said that it’s not about the mistakes, it’s about the constant learning from the mistakes. How are you able to capitalize from your mistakes? How are you able to create success from your failures and ultimately how are you able to create a successful formula from your mess-ups.
You must identify the ebb and flow to your life and your business. Once you know your pattern it’s time to tweak that pattern to create a level of success that you desire. That’s how you attain your formula. Listen to this podcast to understand what I mean.
You cannot experience happiness without some sadness. You can’t reach the next level without some struggle. Be ready for the disasters to strike. They will happen. Create a strong mindset to be prepared to go on offense as opposed to defense. Be in Attack Mode everyday.
You will have moments of despair and angst along your entrepreneurial journey. It won’t be all the glitz and glamour. It won’t be private jets and hanging out on the beach with your laptop. It’s a hard road that most entrepreneurs won’t show you. That’s why I remain authentic. Listen to this episode to understand what I mean.
It’s easy to focus on all the bad and all the things that aren’t happening in your favor. Especially as a new entrepreneur. It’s extremely easy to focus on how things aren’t going your way and nothing is bouncing in your direction.
The most important thing to do when things aren’t going your way is to focus on the process and how to create a process that works best for you to win. At the end of the day, you want to win and create success.
Stop trying to “make it” and start accepting your process of evolution. It’s all about you evolving. This is where most people get caught up with trying to be perfect or they’re mad that they’re not getting instant success. Be about the evolution of your journey and not about “making it.”
Don’t waste time with things that will expand your timeframe to get to success. Learn to condense your timeframe by getting rid of the madness that slows you down. Otherwise you will end up postponing your success.
If you wasted time worrying about who was better than you and at what, you’d never live out your own life or seek to find your true potential. Wait, isn’t that what most people are already doing now?
Don’t be like most people and waste your time worrying about who’s better than you. Maximize your strengths and find your true potential that lies within YOU.
The number two pillar of the #1 Mindset is the importance of Constructive Winning. If you know me, you know that I believe that winning is EVERYTHING. YES - EVERYTHING. But you will take some hard losses and it’s important to remember that you can’t win them all. The losses teach us the importance of how to win and why it’s important for us to win everyday in our business. But always make sure that you learn from your losses because that’s where the growth occurs.
It’s easy to emulate someone else and copy what they’re doing. That’s easy. Do you know what’s hard for most people? Actually being a better version of themselves and being comfortable WITH THAT.
Listen to this episode to understand why you need to be a better version of you and not be a better version of somebody else.
The reason most people are afraid to change or go against the grain of society is because they’re unwilling to challenge the status quo. They’re unwilling to stand up and say that something needs to change.
You have to have courage to stay up for what you think needs to change and you have to continue to have courage to power forward in the face of adversity. Listen to this podcast to get an idea of what I recently had to go through when it came to challenging the status quo.
Don’t just be happy that it’s a Monday day off and that it’s Labor Day. It’s time to shift your mindset to a champion mindset and understanding that today is a day to maximize. PERIOD - Regardless of what day it is.
If you want what others don’t have, then you’re going to have to do what others aren’t willing to do. Stop trying to fit in and be like the masses. Stop trying to fly under the radar.
Birds of a feather flock together. You were meant to fly high. It’s time to surround yourself with eagles and soar.
Most people think in victim mentality. They want to become champions but they don’t have the mindset, will or drive to become the champion. If you want to be the champ, you must do what champs do. And you can’t do it when you feel like doing it, you must do it EVERYDAY. Being a champion is not about committing to excellence once in a while, it’s about committing to it EVERYDAY.
Let’s be honest, most entrepreneurs ACT like a beast but they’re not ready to COMMIT to working like a beast. Acting and committing are two different actions. Make sure you’re not acting. Stay 100% all-in committed.
Rid yourself of the losers. They won’t ever help you become better, they won’t ever cheer you on and they won’t ever talk about your successes.
Stop hanging around losers and start hanging around winners. Start hanging around the people who you want to become.
I remember when I used to absolutely dread Sunday night. It was the night before going back to (dreaded) work. Why did my weekends have to be so short? Why couldn’t I be MORE LAZY and just enjoy my lazy times?
It was the ultimate financial losing game-plan.
I had to switch it up. I needed to do what others weren’t doing to get what others weren’t getting.
I began to do the opposite of what everyone else was doing and started seeing newer and better results.
What an amazing transformation. Let me tell you about my mindset then and now.
Your attitude will determine where you go with your business. Your attitude and how you treat your customers is the experience they get from purchasing your product.
Your product is more about what your customer experiences while you simultaneously solve their problem.
Positive vibes only. Bring it.
No one wants to be accountable for their actions and I completely understand why. Because it’s painful. It hurts to turn the spotlight on yourself and say that you messed up badly. It hurts to go over every error that you made and commit to the fact that you messed up.
But if you’re willing to be painfully accountable for your actions, then you will realize that you are in complete control of your own success.
Listen to this episode to understand what I mean by painful accountability.
What kind of positive impact do you want to leave on the world today? This is an important question because you were put on this earth for a purpose.
Did you know that your social media could be used to positively impact the lives of people you didn’t even know?
Let me tell you about the experience I had when I came across a picture of someone I follow on Instagram.
Greatness isn’t from this big huge thing that you do in life. Greatness comes from the small and boring/mundane task that you do to which you become extraordinary at doing EVERYDAY.
It’s essential to make friends with the boring and mundane tasks along the journey to success. Becoming extraordinary at these tasks daily is what will separate you from everyone else.
When you compare yourself to others, you lose. Most of the time you’re comparing yourself to the losers so you don’t feel so bad about your situation. Trust me, I’ve done this - so I know what you’re doing.
Or you compare yourself to the elite and feel like garbage because you feel as though they’re crushing it and you can never catch them.
Don’t compare yourself to anyone other than the old you.
What if you knew you only had so many Mondays to live? What if that number was small? Would you still be talking about how much you hate Mondays? Would you change your attitude and shift your focus about Monday? In fact, if you knew you had a limited number of days to be alive on Earth, would you even care that it was Monday?
This episode will hep you to understand why today is a DAY. It’s not Monday, it’s a day. That’s why I tell you - 1) You woke up, you’re winning 2) You’re breathing, you are winning. As long as you’re doing those two things, you’re always starting your day on a winning streak.
These goofballs litter the internet like an incurable disease. Trolls. They’re everywhere and they love to pop up and try to destroy someone’s character. Never ever allow these fools to get to you. They’re low lives and have nothing to contribute to society other than negative trash. Do society a favor and take the trash out to the curb.
There are a billion problems that you need to solve in your business everyday as an entrepreneur. Often time all of these problems can become extremely overwhelming because they seem endless like they’re never ending.
One of the things that I do when I feel overwhelmed is to simplify everything. I usually break things down into groups of three. If things become too intense or unbearable, I super simplify things down to completing one task at a time. Focusing on one task until completion.
Simplifying is your tool of defense against anxiety and over complication.
The game of entrepreneurialism is a tough one. It’s a daily grind of how you can survive (in the beginning). Once you get your feet under you, then it’s about sustaining yourself and then it’s about pursuing greatness. And to pursue greatness, it’s all about your mindset.
You. Must. Keep. Going. Period.
There is no stopping or thinking that things are good enough ands you’ll chill. You’re pursuing greatness. You’re doing this for a reason.
You. Must. Keep. Going. Period.
The one thing that shocked me the most when I began to mindset coach entrepreneurs was the fact that most entrepreneurs didn’t have a consistent daily schedule. And I get it. Most people become entrepreneurs because they want freedom. They don’t want to be restricted by a schedule like they were when they worked the 9-5.
But a funny thing happens when you don’t have a routine. You also don’t have a day of predictability. Listen to this episode so you can understand the power of creating your own schedule to increase the chances of your success.
Often times people worry too much about keeping a streak of consistency alive. I get it. It makes us feel good and feel like we’ve accomplished some feat of strength to be so persistent when dealing with certain things.
But we are all human. We have breakdown moments. We have moments of weakness where we *gasps* break the streak. What do we do then? What is our mindset like at that point? In this episode, I will tell you how I overcame my bout with inconsistencies and how I became the most consistent person ever. All by doing things ONE day at a time.
Learn to attack the biggest problems FIRST. Don’t shy away from them or expect them to magically go away. Always be on attack mode when it comes to attacking the biggest headaches in your business. Become diligent at getting good at attacking and solving these problems and before you know it, it will become a good habit that will help you solve any problem any time anywhere.
I’ve said this many times and I’ll say it again: being an entrepreneur is the same as being a parent. You have to be crazy to do either. You must understand that you really won’t die. You have to have a healthy dose of fear - the ‘what if this goes wrong’ type of fear. EVERYDAY. 24/7/365. You understand that you must lead by example and not by talking. Time is crucial. You work the hardest for the smallest moments of glory.
It’s all comparative. If you’re thinking about becoming an entrepreneur and you’re a little apprehensive, listen to this podcast to get a little more understanding.
Your only focus should be on where you aspire to be and then doing the work that it takes to make that dream a reality. PERIOD. Those that focus on the current and the past go backwards.
Your current situation doesn’t define you as a person. It’s a matter of how you’re going to get to where you want to get to and the sheer will and determination to see that dream come to fruition.
Do you have what it takes?
We all have strengths that were specifically given to us for us to monetize with. The unfortunate thing is that most people are burying their strengths for the sake of a “secure job.”
Listen to this episode to understand why you need to focus on YOUR STRENGTHS ONLY!
Uprooting my entire family from Chicago (our home for many years) and moving 1700 milers northwest was the craziest thing we could’ve done as a family. Listen to all of the obstacles and the unconventional things we did to make the change and get on the road to millions.
Listen to the journey and this is how it went down last year. This episode is for anyone that thinks they have no shot at “making it” or scared to take a risk on themselves. This episode is for those parents that want to start a business but are afraid to make a major move because they think their kids are holding them back.
This is for you. You can do it!!
Haters are the perfect feel to the burning fire that’s inside of you. But this podcast will show you how to use the hater’s medicine to your advantage. Listen to how and when I use the Hatorade to my advantage.
It’s not enough to just have a good attitude at the job. You must also bring the work ethic. Work ethic is EVERYTHING. If people don’t remember you for how hard you work, then you’re not bringing the right value to the job. It’s not about simply working hard, it’s about how much you’re producing. Be sure to create, sustain and strengthen your work ethic everyday!
Your energy level is vital to your success. YES. VITAL. And I’m not talking about the output of energy, I’m talking about positive or negative energy. What are you bringing to the table when it comes to helping other people?
Like the old saying goes: your attitude is your altitude. It’s because people like to be surrounded by positive people. Inspiration and motivation come from positive people. Are you bringing this energy into your world as an entrepreneur today?
As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to lack focus. There’s a billion problems to solve and we want to solve them in one day. It’s also easy to see someone else’s success and think that we’re not killing it.
It’s easy to be mentally taken off track. Do not allow your mindset to shift focus to something that’s not helping to improve your life as an entrepreneur.
Hyper focus on being your best and understand what it takes to succeed for yourself.
The biggest challenge for most people is creating a sense of urgency when there appears to be no necessity for it. What most people fail to understand is the truth about how much time they have on this Earth.
This episode will help you to be consciously aware of how time flies. I use my daughter Ellie’s 8th birthday as a prime example of how eight years moves by in “two hours.”
Time. It’s the only thing we all wish we had more of yet so many people are frivolous with their time and/or they give it away to stupid things such as entertaining toxic friends and allowing negativity in their life.
Three things will ultimately EXTEND your time frame:
3. The need to be right all the time
Do not allow these three things to stagnate your growth mindset. If you do, you’ll extend your time much further than you want and you’ll ultimately become bitter and frustrated that things are never working out the way you want them to.
What if you knew you could never make a mistake. Would you try more things? Would you be more proactive when it comes to making things happen? Would you be more consciously aware of what you were doing as opposed to NOT wanting to make a mistake?
Habits and patterns. Habits and patterns are what’s important to understand on your entrepreneurial journey. It’s not about a plug and play formula to success. It’s about understanding your habits and patterns. You can NEVER make a mistake. It’s all trial and error anyway.
Too many people are focused on their completion and not focused on themselves. They’re so busy watering someone else’s seeds of prosperity that they never see their own seeds sprout.
Learn to dominate the competition by first learning how to dominate your own mindset.
Most people have the wrong focus when they start out as entrepreneurs. They focus on trying to prove other people wrong and trying to just make money. Their focus is on the wrong things and it’s leading them to disaster.
What you focus on, you’ll get more of. If you’re focus is on the right things such as proving you can become successful to yourself and looking to solve other people’s problems, you’ll be headed in the right direction. A direction towards success.
Most people that enter the entrepreneurial game are coming from a 9-5 work life. Working a 9-5 job can turn you into being a Worker Bee. Worker Bees are used to being busy as opposed to being productive.
Learn to work like an entrepreneur and be productive. This is what will separate you from the competition. Learn to work to produce and let go of working to be busy.
Are you where you want to be in life right now? This question must be answered everyday. Be in control of your life. As an entrepreneur, you’re going to have to take control of every aspect of your business and you’ll need to be more aware of the things that happen to you.
It’s about taking and being in control at all times. Are you where you want to be in life right now? If not, then it’s time to take control. NOW. GO!
There are a litany of fakes on social media when it comes to being a true entrepreneur. The internet is filled with a bunch of wannabes. Replicas. Fakes. There are very few that are real - authentic - true.
Don’t allow yourself to be like the fakes. To be authentic, you must be willing to show your flaws and mishaps. You must be willing to be vulnerable and show others how you overcame your trials and tribulations. You must be willing to be authentic.
Remember one thing: you’e in the game and everyone else is watching. There will be many spectators that will tell you what to do and how to live. This can easily become extremely distracting if you allow it to be.
Minimize distractions by focusing only on you. Be better today than you were yesterday. Your only focus should be on what you’re doing and not what people are saying from the sidelines.
One of the toughest things for new entrepreneurs to deal with is the mental anguish of having to give up their friends and/or separate themselves from people that don’t support their dreams. Listen to this podcast so that you can stay a leg up on the competition when it comes to having a powerful mindset as an entrepreneur.
There are many people that become entrepreneurs that aren’t naturally using their strengths to their advantage. It’s time to understand the importance of who you are and what you’re made of. Use your strengths to your ultimate advantage.
No matter what you do to level up in this life, you’re going to be facing a new challenge that brings on a new devil. It will be something that will challenge your mindset on a whole new level.
The question that needs to be answered is this: Are you ready?
The truth is what you need to hear. It’s not meant to be discouraging or motivating, it’s meant to help you have more in depth understanding of what you’re doing.
Understand this: the entrepreneurial game is rugged but if you’re willing to outlast time and be the last one stranding, you’ll always win the game. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Prepare for the long haul.
It’s easy to replicate someone else but why would you want to be like anyone else but yourself? Some people aren’t confident in their own abilities so they try to emulate other people.
Don’t do this to yourself. Be authentic to who you are. Do you, be you. There’s only one you - maximize who you are.
Don’t live for someone else’s approval. Too many people fall into the trap of living out someone else’s life and doing what others think is good for them. Why? Why would you ever suppress your abilities for the sake of someone’s opinion of what they think you should be doing?
Don’t ever live for someone else’s approval. In the end, it’s about you, not them.
Being a parent and an entrepreneur have incredible similarities when it comes to the mindset approach to each. In fact, I’ve mentioned to many parents who may be on the fence about entrepreneurialism that they are the perfect candidates for this budding culture of work.
If you’re a parent and you’re thinking of becoming an entrepreneur, this podcast is for you.
What you give out, you get back. What you invest into, you’ll get back as well. It’s a matter of what you’re willing to invest your time and energy into on a daily basis.
I want you to be consciously aware of this from now on.
You have one day. One day is guaranteed to you and that’s today. Now. RIGHT NOW. So what are you going to do with it? That’s an important question that must be answered everyday. Otherwise you’ll end up wasting days, wasting time and ultimately regretting this time that you have in your life.
Maximize every second of today towards something great.
The commitment is the hardest part for most entrepreneurs. Starting is easy and being motivated and inspired in the beginning is the easy part. Commitment is the biggest challenge. Be and stay all-in 100% committed to the process.
Don’t ever look to merely survive as an entrepreneur. That will get you money for today but always searching for money tomorrow. Instead, fix your mindset on thriving as an entrepreneur. The benefits are far greater in the long run.
There are a lot of entrepreneurs that know what they’re doing and are great at their service or product. The problem? They’re not going out with the mindset that they are the expert or guru in their field. And apprehension kills the possibility of sales.
It’s time to get your mind right and accept who you are and allow yourself to be who you’re supposed to be. The expert/guru.
There are a lot of people that want all the glory without the handwork. It doesn’t work like that in this life. You will have to commit to it all. COMMIT. Commitment is one of the biggest issues that entrepreneurs have when it comes to finding the right vehicle to monetize their strengths.
Make sure that you find the right vehicle, be 100% committed and be ready to take the good with the bad and the ugly.
We all take Ls. ALL OF US. The key is to not focus on them but learn from them. Recognizing the pattern and understanding how to create the formula to ensure success is imperative.
The ability to help others duplicate your formula to help them obtain success when you attain true success.
It’s easy to allow things, people and your current situation to get in the way of what you truly want in life. It’s time to hurdle, go around, plow through or avoid this kind of madness so you can achieve what you truly desire in life. Go all-in.
Moms don’t get near the amount of credit they deserve. They just don’t. This podcast is for my entrepreneurial moms that are working hard to provide for their family and kids and most importantly those single moms who have to do the role of both mom and dad.
I praise you moms. The strongest beings on planet earth!
It’s imperative to give thanks to the ones who’ve helped you out on your entrepreneurial journey. This episode is dedicated to Bryan, the Anchor Support staff member who helped me to get my episodes back on track. Listen to why it’s important to give thanks to those who’ve helped you become successful.
No one is self-made. NO ONE.
It’s easy to allow anxiety to take over and get you off your game. Anxiety is fear based which makes a lot of people retreat and ultimately quit. Listen to this episode to understand what anxiety really means when it comes to entrepreneurialism.
Everyone has a moment of crazy when they start on their entrepreneurial journey. It happens. TO EVERYONE. The question is: are you going to continue. You’re already crazy for going down this abnormal path. You might as well keep going.
You can talk about being the best but are you going to play offense and look to kick ass? This is key. Listen to this episode to understand what I mean to get in this mindset that you’re playing offense ONLY.
I used to have an incredibly challenging time remaining consistent. One of the things that helped me to stay on track was literally taking everything one thing at a time and learning how to stay focused and finish the task. That simple. Focus and finish.
It’s easy to become the jaded entrepreneur. This attitude gets you nowhere. It’s the one thing that creates jealousy and ultimately turns into someone who becomes a hater.
This kind of attitude can ruin you. You begin to justify why you didn’t make it or why it didn’t work as opposed to just staying hyper focused on what you wanted and going all-in.
Don’t become jaded. Stay hyper focused on what you want and go all-in
It’s not just enough to want what you want, you must also be emotionally prepared. There are a lot of entrepreneurs that say they want the big fancy houses, cars, vacations and money but they aren’t emotionally prepared to make the emotional investment that they need to make to get what they want.
There’s a price that comes with the dreams you want to create. Do you know that price and are you willing to take that emotional toll? That’s the question that you need to answer before you make the commitment.
Your setbacks don’t mean you stay there. Your setbacks don’t define you as a person and they don’t mean you’ll stay there forever. A setback is merely a point where you stop to gather your thoughts and regroup with your comeback.
Whenever you have a setback, ALWAYS be ready for the comeback!
No one else is going to believe in you as much as you’d like to think they will. It’s all about being your own biggest cheerleader and believing in yourself. How do you do that and be impactful at the same time? This episode dives into answering that.
You have to understand something: there are victories that you have in the day that you don’t recognize because you may be too busy focusing on the defeats that you encounter.
I want you to focus on the wins. Don’t beat yourself down for a few setbacks. It’s time to put a stake in the ground and claim victory. Now it’s time to go for it! GO!
There are an infinite amount of fakes in the world today. How do you separate yourself from the rest? Be true to you. Be authentic. This means you’ll have to show the good, the bad and the ugly. But when you allow yourself to be vulnerable, you show your human side.
When you’re authentic, you attract authentic people. When you’re fake, you’ll attract the fakes. Be authentic. Just be yourself.
Everyone rides on a certain frequency. Do not lower your frequency to anyone’s level. Be sure that you always reach up to a higher frequency level. In other words, seek the people that are where you want to be and stay away from the people that drag you down.
Fear is the number one dream killer in the world. Most people run away from fear and run right to safety when it comes to living a normal life. But why? Why? Why be safe to live a boring mundane life when you can challenge your risks and live an extraordinary life?
I want you to challenge your risks. That’s right - CHALLENGE your risks. Your risks will no longer challenge you. You make the call. You decide the challenge. GO!
In a world full of chaos and confusion, it’s best to just eliminate the chaos in your life. One of the first things that I learned early on as an entrepreneur is to eliminate anything that’s complicated. When you do this, you’re ultimately able to gain clarity.
It’s about simplifying things. Complication creates confusion and ultimately leads to chaos.
What are you focusing on right now? What’s dominating your attention? What is the one thing that you wish could be dealt with? That’s the problem that you need to be solving. That’s the issue that you need to be fixing.
It’s up to you to shift your focus to see the new possibilities that can help you solve those problems. It’s about shifting your focus. Let me show you how and why it’s important that you do this.
It can be challenging to talk yourself up to yourself. Society has a great way of knocking you down and telling you to be humble and grateful. How do you rise above all of the to continue a positive self-affirming conversation? Let me give you some tips.
Also, listen to:
The Warrior Mentality - 012: Are You Disrespecting Yourself? https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/012-are-you-disrespecting-yourself/id1318543290?i=1000400974189&mt=2
Most people will hide a lot of who they are. They are scared to allow others into their world therefore they will show a fake online impression of who they are. There are many fakes out there. Separate yourself from the fakes. Be the one who’s willing to be authentic and show people the humanistic side of who you are.
We all have issues and we all have problems. To act like you’re without would only place you under an intense microscope of unnecessary judgement. Be the one who’ll be different and separate yourself from all of the fakes.
We ALL have the days where we feel down and out on ourselves or the work that we’re producing. It’s okay to feel this way. In fact, I validate my clients feelings by letting them know that it’s okay to feel that way. It means you’re HUMAN!
Once we’ve validated how you feel and have sifted through what seems to be holding you back or why you feel the way you do, now it’s time to make changes. But we won’t allow you to stay in the How I Feel Stage. Because often times people use that as the Pity Party Zone.
And then they embrace how they feel and ultimately allow their feelings to define who they are as opposed to them defining who they are.
It’s okay to not have it everyday. It’s not okay to stay in the Pity Party Zone with no way out.
Practicing what you do everyday will create confidence. Most people don’t practice often enough. And when they do that, what often ends up happening is. that they start hoping for things to fall into place or for some luck to happen to them.
Confidence comes from actively practicing at your craft. As an entrepreneur, you must always look to practice your craft daily.
Life is all about making adjustments. The one who can make the adjustments the quickest and can adapt to anything is the one who always wins in life. This is why it’s important to stay open minded and be flexible.
Stay fluid. Stay flexible and you’ll always find a way to win in life.
It can be hard to embrace the process sometimes. The process can become mundane and boring and it can also become cumbersome when you’re not winning the way you want.
Learn to embrace the process. It’s where you’ll learn the most. It’s your practice. Practicing your craft as often as you can is essential to your success. Embrace it.
Not many people are true authentic in this world. There are tons of fakes and wannabes and people that proclaim to be something that they’re not. There’s one thing that I take pride in and that’s being authentic. You see it in all of meh posts, videos and podcasts. My authenticity remains the same everywhere.
I have a saying: when you’re fake, you attract the fakes. When you’re authentic, you attract authentic people. Be what you want to attract. Be real. Be authentic.
You’re guaranteed NOW. Not tomorrow, NOW. What are you doing to maximize NOW? This is key. Most people work as if they have forever to live and put off the things that they’re supposed to be doing. To only wonder why things aren’t going in the right direction for them.
Don’t put off what you can do today for tomorrow or some “perfect” time. Do it NOW. Maximize every second of every day. There’s not a day that goes by that I wish I could go back to being 25 years old and maximize the time that I had.
Get on it and get to it. GO!
We can often times fool ourselves into thinking an believing certain running lies that we tell ourselves. Listen, I used to be a pro at BS myself and others. But I had a problem: I wasn’t making any progress in life and ultimately I got tired of living out my own lie. Listen to the BS lie that I kept going in this episode.
Don’t BS yourself. It may sound good to say these lies but ultimately even you will become tired of your own BS running narrative. Even more importantly, you will never progress in life by not confronting the truths in your life.
Be better today than you were yesterday. This is hard for most people to concentrate on. This simple concept of merely being a better version of you today than you were yesterday.
This is not about rehashing your mistakes or the failures and shortcomings of your life. This is about everyday making a conscious effort to do things slightly better than you did the previous day. It’s all about having a growth mindset.
It’s time to simplify things and work to be better today than you were yesterday.
Commitment is a hard thing for a lot of people. The reason is because they know that they must alter their lifestyle to get what they want. Most people have the ability to stay committed but most people are committed to the wrong things.
Learn to get and stay committed to the right things. It’s all about being better today than you were yesterday. Are you ready to get committed and go all-in for what you want?
One thing that’s important to understand is that there’s no one person that knows everything that you need to know to become successful. There are many avenues that you will travel before you find your avenue to success.
Find your avenue and know that you’ll have to filter a lot of advice and do a lit of things before you find your groove.
You will never be 100% ready to go. NEVER. You can read, research and plan all you want but you’ll ultimately need to get started. It’s that simple. I’ll make this simple: It’s like parenting. It didn’t matter how many parenting books I read or how many videos I watched of babies being born, etc. It wasn’t until I had my own child for the first time that I realized I was in over my head.
However I worked my way to a point where I hit a groove in parenting and things became easier.
Find your groove by doing as opposed to sitting on the sidelines doing research and planning.
Nothing in life is easy money. NOTHING. I want you to save this episode so you can replay it when you’ve had a tough time or run into a brick wall. Understand the challenges that you face are to make you better and they are for you to conquer.
I’ve written plenty of articles on LinkedIn as to why easy doesn’t work. Here are a few:
Most People Waste Time Wishing for Easy
Life Made Easy? Life Made Hard?
It’s Not Supposed to Be Easy
A Life With No Problems? Yea Right
Time is money. This should be something that you’re saying to yourself everyday as an entrepreneur. Because it’s Entrepreneurship 101.
If you’re not able to be productive, you will waste time and ultimately lose money. Learn to maximize every second of everyday.
Here’s a snippet of what I did with my morning when it comes to social media and marketing.
I remember as a kid that my dad would have me spell the words responsibility every time I wanted to blame someone for my actions. I’ll never forget having to spell that word but it left an impression on me. One that I’ll never forget. It showed me that I needed to be more aware of the actions that I was willing to take as opposed to just blaming someone for my screw ups.
Success can’t come without a ton of pain. This is the reason why most people don’t go for success. They’d rather things be easy for them. I get it, we all wish that success would be easy but success and easy don’t go in the same sentence.
Whatever level of success that you reach for will include a new level of stress and madness. You have to learn to mentally deal with this before physically creating success.
Listen to this episode to understand why you need pain to become successful.
When you design your life, nothing is an accident to you. Everything is for a purpose. You’re creating and living your purpose driven life. Listen to today’s episode and listen to the episode that I’ve attached to understand the importance of living a purpose driven life.

Teflon Don Positive Mindset - 108: Prioritize Your Time to Live a Purpose Driven Life
We all hate failure. All of us. But what if you turned failure into your best buddy? What if you had a different view point on the way you approached failure? What if you took all of the times you failed and looked at them as a step closer to success?
Most people don’t see that failure is their friend. Everything that you’ve learned in life has come as a result of something that you’ve failed miserably at.
Failure is not your enemy. Shift your mindset and make failure your friend.
We all have moments when we feel completely defeated. Even after putting in all of the hard work and giving your all-out effort, you STILL come out with a L. I’m here to let you know that it’s okay. Stuff happens. You will take some big hits and you will fall hard. The question is how bad do you want it?
Procrastination kills all urgency. YES. Procrastination kills all urgency. Yes, you’re urgent in the time of need but you do not create immediate urgency to get stuff done. You have to flip your thought process. Create the same urgency that you have when you’re in procrastination mode for when your project first begins.
Urgency. If you don’t create it for the right time, you will never succeed at the right time. It’s just that simple.
You’re human and you’re going to feel some type of way about what you’re doing to achieve success.
I get it. It happens.
But my biggest question to you is this: do your feelings really matter when it comes to completing the task? I will always confirm someone’s feelings but one thing I will not allow is for them to stay in their feelings.
When you stay in your feelings, you do whatever it takes to resolve how you feel as opposed to completing the task. Let me help you refocus in this podcast.
Don’t ever give these fools more attention than they deserve. They’re already attention deprived and all they’re looking for is to engage in verbal warfare. Social media trolls are to be used for entertainment purposes only.
Don’t engage them beyond entertainment purposes. Trust me, they’re not worth a second of your energy.
Don’t get caught up with Manic Monday, Hump Day (Wednesday) and TGIF. That stuff is for losers. No one that’s successful is begging for the weekend to begin. Surround yourself with successful people that maximize every second of every day.
You’ll be surprised how much energy you devote towards looking at the clutter in your house. Clutter is the one thing that takes away from what we should be focusing our energy onto. My motto is Vision + Focus = Clarity.
There’s no way you can gain clarity by having a cluttered filled house, place and mind. Trust me. Your mind is diverting its attention to things that aren’t of high priority.
Declutter everything you own. Your house, your car, your phone, your life. You’ll gain more energy and have a life of clearer purpose.
Winning is essential. I’ve said this many times. You’re winning at something whether it’s constructive or destructive. Make sure you’re winning at the right things. If you need some insight on my thoughts on the importance of winning, listen to the following podcasts:

Have you honestly sat down and asked yourself what it is that you want in life. Your life was meant for something greater than you can conceive. Do you know what that is? It’s time to sit down and have a powerful one-to-one with yourself about what it is that you truly want in life.
Don’t say that you don’t have time. I want you to create 15 minutes of time for just you and what you want to accomplish in this life. What is it that you want to do with your life? The primary question I ask all entrepreneurs is this:
What do you want?
It’s a hard concept to think about always squeezing the very last drop out of everything. I completely get it. But I want you to understand something: tough times make tougher people but only if they’re willing to grow. There are a lot of tough people that become tougher but they’re committed to being stagnant and not working for growth.
Be about growth. Understand that your struggle doesn’t mean defeat, it means you’re getting stronger. But only if you’re willing to commit to growth.
People have a problem with the details. I get it. It used to be a huge pitfall for me. My problem was I didn’t care. I didn’t care about the details - at first. Then when I became an entrepreneur, I quickly realized the importance of the little things.
Listen, I’m not famous - yet. So I need to do something that separates me from the competition. I want you to listen to this episode about the importance of respecting other people’’s time and why I correlate this with Will Smith.
Everyone has a day where their body seems to take over and shut down on them. It happens to all of us. Sometimes it’s best to listen to your body and make the right adjustments.
I get it, I get it, BEAST MODE ALL DAY, EVERYDAY. But trust me, at some point, your body will give in and that’s when it’ll be time to take a rest.
There aren’t many authentic people out there. Lots and lots of fakes. People are thirsting for someone who’s real and authentic. It’s what’s going to separate you from the white noise that’s on social media.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - If you’re fake, you’ll attract fakes. When you’re authentic, you’ll attract authentic people. Listen to this episode to understand what your authenticity can bring you in the noisy world of social media.
Most people lack the believe in themselves because they’re constantly trying to measure themselves against someone else. Don’t let this be you. It’s time to take back your power and believe in yourself. You weren’t made by accident, you were made on purpose for a purpose. It’ time to find that purpose so you can live a purpose driven life.
I get it, everyone wants to be a beast. Everyone wants to act like they utilize every second of the day and they’re NEVER TIRED. TEAM NO SLEEP SON!! Yes. I get it.
Even I’ve been known to say these things but let me let you in on something - you’re human. I have these moments often. It reminds me that I’m human and not a machine.
It’s extremely challenging to get up to do things when you’re in this state of mind but the key is to create muscle memory. Muscle memory is created through consistent activity. Remaining consistent (no matter how you feel) will be the key that separates you from everyone else.
Most people wait for something tragic to happen before they realize it’s time to get out of their comfort zone and make a life of their life. The best way to create that sense of urgency is to begin by finding your purpose.
I tell people to write down their top five personal and professional goals and to write down their core values. What is it that you believe in? What do you stand for? What doing you ultimately want to do to help other people?
That’s the key. It’s all about helping someone become better. What is it that you have that will ultimately make your life a life of fulfillment. It’s time to create urgency towards that.
I used to have an incredibly difficult time with my goals. In fact, I didn’t have any. I had them in my mind but I never wrote down goals or spoke them into existence. I used to think that was stupid stuff. That all changed when I began my entrepreneurial journey in October 2015.
I did a complete 180 of what I was used to doing and created goals. I soon realized that my goals were my direction in life and that I was in control of what I wanted to do as opposed to leaving stuff to chance.
It changed my life and I’m here to help others understand that it can change their life as well.
Write down goals and say them out loud everyday. Then, ATTACK THEM. Your life will change if you go all-in on your attack.
Dream crushers are EVERYWHERE. They will do whatever it takes to knock you out of flight and keep you grounded. They use code talk like:
-I’m just looking out for your best interests
-I just want you to be happy
-You need to live life
-You need to be happy you’ve got a job, got your health, etc
-You need to be grateful
Dream crushers have gibe up. They need to make you give up to make themselves feel better about giving up on their dreams.
Get away from these people. Your dream is NOT their dream. You don’t need approval to go after what you want, you need to approve yourself for what you want.
Fear grips many people’s lives. They allow fear to dictate every move they make and ultimately they live a safe and boring life as a result. Listen, you will not die from your mental fears. In fact, you will end up with a life of regret if you don’t start attacking your fears.
Attack fear. Stop running away from it. ATTACK FEAR TODAY!! GO
Too many people do just a little bit because they’re scared to do too much. Yes, you read that right. They’re scared to do more because if they invest all of that energy, they better get more in return.
Here’s the deal, most people look to fail. They don’t have the right mindset so they end up relegating themselves to being spectators. Stop watching the game and get in the damn game. You can’t complain about the players in the game when you’re the one watching them.
Your time is now. There is no better time and you don’t need a sign. You need to get off the couch and make things happen. Otherwise, you’ll be a spectator for life.
Most people know what they want but they won’t go for it. They will ponder all of the reasons why it won’t work as opposed to why it will work They will talk themselves out of just going for it because they’re scared to fail or they think that they will die.
I’m not joking.
People think they’ll die if they put themselves in a situation that doesn’t have immediate financial success or security. Listen, if you don’t go for what you want inn this life, you will end up old and regretting it for the rest of your life.
Stop pondering and just go for it. #YOLO. You Only Live Once.
If you’re unwilling to force change, then change will be forced upon you. Most people loathe change and I get it. They want to be as comfortable as possible for as long as they can. There’s one problem: comfort will destroy you when it comes to living the life that you want.
Comfort is the second biggest killer to your dreams. Fear is number one. Force change in your life to get you more of what you want. Otherwise change will be forced onto you to give you more of what you don’t want.
I used to have a problem with people unfriending me on social media sites. My problem was that I was taking things personal instead of realizing that it was a good thing.
When people unfriend you on social media, there’s nothing wrong with you. There’s nothing that should make you angry or upset at the fact that they decided to move on. People actually get into fights over this kind of stuff. They take it too personally.
When people unfriend you on social media, take it as a good thing. They’re simply saying that they aren’t going in the direction that you’re going. Birds of a feather flock together. You don’t want to hang out with turkeys anyway.
Surround yourself with eagles. Surround yourself with positive, like-minded people that are always looking to level up.
I used to have a lazy man’s mindset. I’d only do things that were within my comfort zone. Doing the bare minimum. The unfortunate thing is this concept took hold of every aspect of my life. My job performance suffered, my love life suffered and my kids suffered because Daddy was doing the bare minimum in everything. It was all about MY comfort level.
That was until I read the book, The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone. That book lit a fire under me and snapped me out of my comfort coma. I became a beast at doing nothing but work and enjoying the fruits of my labor.
Ever since reading that book, my motto is DO MORE. When you think you’ve done enough, DO MORE. When you think it’s impossible to go oo, DO MORE.
What you imagined in the past is what you’re currently getting today. I repeat, What you imagined in the past is what you’re currently getting today. You’re imagination is constantly at work designing the life that you covet.
Your mind is doing this whether you’re aware of it or not. It’s time to be more aware of your thoughts and to design your life with intent as opposed to letting the chips fall where they may.
You were born on purpose for a purpose. It’s time to find that purpose and live that purpose for a purpose driven life.
The one thing most people have difficulty managing is time. They just can’t do it. Why? Because they’re stuck in their comfort zone. YES. The comfort zone makes people lazy. I know this because the comfort zone was my all-time favorite place to be.
It wasn’t until October 2015 that I realized that I was losing in life and one of the things that needed to change was my need for my comfort zone. Once I exited the comfort zone, things happened. I was maximizing my time and I was getting what I wanted. I started winning and it’s a feeling that I never want to lose. EVER.
A lot of people woke up today with the Case of the Mondays. I get it. I used to as well. My problem was that I didn’t live a purpose driven life. I was just working to pay bills and not working towards my purpose.
The best way to find your purpose is to write down your top five personal and professional goals and go for them. Take action. Stick to your core values.
When you live a purpose driven life, you don’t have a Case of the Mondays, you have excitement for living towards your purpose and achieving your dreams, goals and aspirations.
Design the life you desire by living your purpose.
Most people think that it’ll be a walk in the park for what they want. They don’t want it to be hard. They don’t want to face the challenges. They’ll talk about doing whatever it takes but when it comes to taking action, they’re all of a sudden nowhere to be found.
You’re going to experience pain and mental suffering. You’re going to get beatdown and your going to experience your personal walk through mental Hell. EVERYONE DOES.
There’s a reason why only a few thrive in this game. Because the battles aren’t won and lost physically, they all occur mentally.
Be mentally ready to be challenged in your personal Hell or be ready to settle for mediocrity if you choose to run away from greatness.
Your attitude towards what you’re doing matters more than you think. A lot of times we surround ourselves with the wrong people. You know, the people that “keep it real” or “keep it 100.” You know - the Captain Obvious ones.
Your attitude counts. If you want something different, first you must change your attitude and then commit to being the change. When you do these two things, you change your world immediately.
People try to justify their losing by saying silly things. Silly things such as:
“Winning isn’t everything,”
“If it’s meant to be, then it’s meant to be.”
“If it’s in God’s plan.”
Listen, I used to say these goofball sayings. It’s loser talk. You’ll never catch ANYBODY who’s a winner that will say these trite sayings. Learn and understand the importance of winning in everything you do.
Because you’re winning at something, whether it be constructive or destructive.
WINNING IS EVERYTHING.
Too many times we perseverate on our past. We allow our past to define who we are and we get stuck in it. We are unwilling to move forward because we are so stuck in the past.
Why can’t we get out of our own head and keep our eyes focused on what lies ahead? This episode will help you to keep your eyes and your mind solely on your future.
Who cares about your past. That’s done. Focus on what you can control: your future.
Your dreams are your dreams. They’re no one else’s. No one will approve you to go after your dreams. NO ONE. I REPEAT- NO ONE.
This was a primary issue of mine. I had a problem going after what I wanted and waiting for my friends and family to approve what I wanted to do. My issue was that I put way too much stock into what my friends thought about my decisions and ultimately ended up never accomplishing anything.
When I finally decided that I didn’t care if my friends and family supported me, that’s when I began to make things happen.
I allow you to approve yourself. You don’t need anyone’s approval. You need the courage to step out on your own and surprise yourself.
Consistency is a battle I fight everyday. I win most of the time but sometimes I take some Ls. I used to be terrible at being consistent. In fact, I used to say that I was consistent and being inconsistent. I never got anything done and I never gained any traction with anything. Therefore, I was constantly frustrated with my progress.
It wasn’t until I decided to go in the opposite direction of all of my old bad habits. When I began reading books on successful people and saw what made them successful, I began to emulate the same traits. And THAT’S when things began to change for me and that’s when my life changed as well.
Regret will catch up to you. Believe me. If you’re not going for what you want in life, you will end up questioning your decisions and why you’re doing what you’re doing. It’s called a Midlife Crisis. It happens to everyone.
There’s no set age for when this happens but it happens when you least expect it. You want no part of regret. It is painful. It hurts. It’s a reality check.
Don’t mess around with your time in life. Because regret will show its ugly face sooner than you’d like.
People often trap themselves by only committing to the things that they’re used to. This comes about because of fear. And this is completely normal. Fear traps many people but don’t you be one of them that allows this to happen to you.
It’s important for you to grow. It’s important for you to strive to be better in life and to hit the next level. It’s imperative that you seek new avenues to greatness.
If you don’t, you’ll forever remain stagnant and fear will forever paralyze you from your true greatness.
The entrepreneurial game has turned into a sideshow. More like show and tell. Remember when you were a kid and you’d come to school and show off the your coolest toy or the coolest thing you have. It was basically a One-Up Show.
That’s what the entrepreneurial game has turned into. It’s sexy to say that you’re an entrepreneur. It’s sexy to say that you’ve achieved this (fake) baller status.
But the authentic ones such as myself can separate the real from the fakes. It’s not hard at all. You want to know about what true entrepreneurialism is? Here you go. Listen carefully.
Too many times, people think they need to feel like doing something in order to make progress. That is a complete fallacy. In fact, 95% of your growth will come in the moments when you don’t feel like doing anything.
It’s the idea that you’re forcing your body to stay committed to the action as opposed to giving in to the way you feel about the action. When you do this, you are able to create muscle memory. And when you create consistency along with muscle memory, that’s when things begin to take flight.
Listen to Teflon Don Positive Mindset - 109: Do It When You Don’t Feel Like Doing It and save both of these episodes to remind you when you don’t feel like doing it.
I used to hate problems. No you didn’t read that correctly. I USED TO HATE PROBLEMS!!! HATE. With a passion. I just wanted a day of no problems. An easy going day. I wanted many easy going days.
Well that never happened. EVER. And I began to get discouraged in life. I began to think to myself that my lot in life was to suffer. I’m not kidding.
Until I read The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone. Once I realized that problems were challenges that I needed to defeat, it was game on. I had a different approach. I started looking for problems and soon you know it, I began leveling up exponentially.
Listen to this episode to understand why your problems are the challenges that you need to defeat.
I used to invest energy into the wrong things. I was all about needing to feel comfortable in every moment of my life.
That is until I read The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone. It woke me up from my comfortable stagnant state and turned me into a productive working beast!!
In this episode, I tell you about the amount of energy I put into going out with my buddies to downtown Chicago and why that energy was the same as The 10X Rule.
Your perspective can impact your thoughts everyday. It’s more important than you would think. I used to have a great attitude but often times my perspective was negative and thus would impact my approach to do things.
What if you could change your perspective? What if you could simply change your thought process of how you perceived a situation from a different vantage point?
It’s time to view your situation from a different vantage point to gain clarity, vision and insight.
Before I began my entrepreneurial journey in October 2015, I used to think self-development was completely corny. I never sought after it. I didn’t develop myself. Why? ‘I’m not weak. That’s for weak people.’
That’s how I thought. Until I signed release papers from Schaumburg School District 54 and found myself out of a job. I wasn't winning in life and I wanted to know how the winners win.
This is when I began to include self-development as a part of my daily routine. Listen to how my routine plays out in a day. It’s no accident that I’m where I am today and I attribute that to a solid self-development regimen.
Friday used to be MY day. I couldn’t wait for Friday. Especially if it was a hard week at work. I used to round up my favorite crazy crews and “get down on it.”
I had two crews that I rolled with and I had nicknames for them. 1) The A-Team and 2) The Usual Suspects. I’m not joking, these were my people that I rolled with from Laremont School.
But as time wore on, I got tired of the same thing giving me the same results. Get up for work (begrudgingly) on Monday, work my ass through Hum Day (Wednesday) and postpone excitement for TGIF (Friday).
It was a broken plan. I finally decided to change that in October 2015. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Appreciate where you are currently in life. It may be a hard and brutal situation but if you’re working to level up in life, you will eventually rise above the ashes and become who you were meant to become.
It’s hard to appreciate the bad situations but understand this, EVERYONE goes through them. EVERYONE. No one’s exempt. So be willing to appreciate this tough time because it’s what’s helping you to become stronger for the next big thing ahead. Be ready to receive your blessings.
Most people hang on to friends that they know are bad for them. Toxic friends. People that aren’t looking to help them become better and aren’t (and will never be) happy for their success.
Why do people do this to themselves? I know why - I used to do the same damn thing. It’s because people hold their friends opinions in higher regard than their own opinions of themselves.
I was forever seeking approval from my friends. Like I needed to be validated for my purpose in life. Listen to me, get rid of these garbage “friends.” If you need a crash course on how to rid yourself of these fools, listen to the list of Teflon Don Positive Mindset episodes below:
Teflon Don Positive Mindset - 032: Who Gives a Shit What Your Friends Think About You

I’ve always been silly. It’s in my DNA. I can’t be too serious for too long. It drives me insane. I use these silliness skills to bring joy and happiness to peoples lives.
There are so many people that lack energy that are in desperate need of a shot of good energy. Look, be the change. Be someone that’s going to infuse some energy and life into your environment.
Being busy misleads many people to think they’re being productive. Listen, I was THAT guy. I would keep myself busy just doing things and not focusing on productivity.
There’s a huge difference between being busy and being productive.
Busy = Doing lots of work that has no goal or purpose attached to it.
Productive = Doing work TOWARDS a goal and the purpose that’s attached to it.
In simpler terms: if you’re a sales person, being busy would be saying that you worked 16 hours today. Being productive would be saying, I made 200 cold calls today.
There’s a huge difference and one is going to get you to your goal and the other will only frustrate you and make you feel like you’re on a hamster wheel.
Busy work bores the mind. Productive work keeps the mind focused. Don’t be busy. Be productive.
Often times we work against ourselves. We have a great idea and we put all of this energy into creating something that’s never been done before. The funny part is that we invest an incredible amount of energy into creating something new without understanding that it may have previously been created.
My rules for a successful product are simple:
1. Find a product that’s uber successful.
2. Copy the format that made it successful.
3. Tweak it to make it your own. Put your own spin to it.
Simple. These same rules apply when you’re working to become successful in your industry.
My rules for you to become successful in your industry are simple:
1. Find a person who’s uber successful at what they do.
2. Copy their format that made them successful.
3. Tweak it to make it your own. Put your authenticity into it.
Simple. Keep it simple.
I turn 40 today!! It’s a landmark birthday for me and it’s a much better day than I anticipated it would be. Mentally speaking I’m in an awesome place because I’m in he process of making my dreams a reality. Becoming a multimillionaire by making a major impact in this world!!
Listen to why I think it’s important for you to pursue your dreams. Every. Damn. Day.
The ego can take over your psyche in a New York minute. It doesn’t take much for someone to allow their ego to inflate to the size of Texas. It can be a damaging thing to say the least.
Keep your ego in check. Understand that you are no better or no worse than anyone else. Figure out how to create your own success by using these three simple steps:
1. Find someone who’s uber successful at what you want to do.
2. Copy their blueprint.
3. Tweak it to make it your own.
Simple. Your ego must be put in check or you’ll never reach anything close to your true potential.
Don’t be afraid to allow your qualities to shine through. People often change themselves and who they are for fear of what others might think about them.
Don’t allow this to happen to you. Here’s my experience with what happened to me while coaching my 3rd/4th grade basketball team for the Sandpoint Parks and Recreation.
One of the things that most people just can’t do is laugh at themselves. We have to many stiffs that are too busy worried about their image and too unwilling to just unwind and be vulnerable.
Be willing to poke fun and laugh at yourself. Free yourself of the binds that society loves to place on people. When you are able to laugh at your own mistakes and poke fun at yourself, that’s when you begin to truly live a life of freedom.
FOMO is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard but it’s an actual thing in today’s world. This is definitely a generational thing because it doesn’t make sense to me but I understand how it can impact today’s youth.
Here’s the thing: your life is what you make of it. I’m not going to allow you to depreciate your value based on someone else’s social media outreach.
Listen to this episode and save it when you feel FOMO creeping in.
Most people ignore what’s going on with themselves because they think they’re supposed to act and be a certain way. They ignore their emotions and feelings and ultimately think that they’re weak because they’re not mentally crushing it.
It’s time for you to take time for yourself. It’s time for you to listen to what your body is saying to you and it’s time for you to take a break. Dial it down. It’s time to relax and hit the pause button.
This episode will give you insight on the importance of pausing and why it’ll save you in the long run.
Nothing lasts forever on planet earth. Your bad days, bad deals, bad times aren’t going to last for too long. Yes, it seems like forever that you’re going through your Winter season but trust me, it’ll only last for so long.
Money is important. It is. Unfortunately most people try to act like money isn’t everything. They try to envision a world with no money to only increase the defeatist attitude and self-pity.
Money is important. You get up and work for it everyday. You think about it everyday. You’re either working for it for the rest of your life or it’s working for you for the rest of your life.
The questions is: Which would you rather?
We all experience fear when we go all-in. It’s the point of no return. It means we have to make things happen and if we don’t, we have to face the fact that we failed.
What’s the worst that could happen? You fail going for what you want? C’mon now, you have one life. ONE. How are you going to live that life? Because if you decide to stay on the sidelines for most of your life, you will be a spectator watching all of the action to only hope and wish it was you.
Don’t hope and wish, go and make things happen. TODAY. NOW. GO!!
“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing” - Vince Lombardi. It’s the truth. You’re winning at something, whether it’s constructive or destructive. Something is giving you that winning feeling.
When you’re losing, you think winning doesn’t matter. You begin to say things like “winning isn’t everything” or “if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.” Winners don’t say those trite sayings.
Winning is more important than you think it is. Make winning in life your highest priority.
We all have bad days. ALL OF US. They will happen. But far too often, people will allow their bad days to ruin their week, month and even year.
Don’t allow this to happen to you. Understand that you will take a L. You will have down days but know that it’s just a bad day and not a bad life.
You didn’t accidentally wake up today. Nothing is by accident. You were born on purpose for a purpose. The question is, are you living for your purpose?

One of the biggest mistakes I’ve made was living to fit in a box. Society’s box. Get a good job, good benefits, have kids, a wife, a house and a white picket fence. Live below your means and never get too greedy.
Yea, that didn’t work. In fact, I had MORE headaches trying to not break society’s rules. I had MORE problems because I was never good enough. I only saw my shortcomings and never maximized my strengths.
Once I lived life on my terms, things changed drastically. Once I decided to surround myself with go-getters and people that were looking to level up in life, I leveled up as well.
Once I stopped caring so much about what the worlds thought about me and decided that I should care more about me, THAT’S when things changed.
Listen to this episode and change your life. Today.
Authenticity is a rarity these days. Too many fakes online. Too many people portraying a fake lifestyle and trying to be the next big thing and perpetuating this sense of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) amongst our young people.
Be authentic. What you are is what you’ll attract. Be willing to put your stuff out there. If you’re going to celebrate all the good, then you must be willing to expose the bad and (gasp) THE UGLY.
People respect your hustle when you bare your soul. Why? Because we ALL can relate to the truth. Be authentic and you’ll get authenticity in return.
What are you investing your time into? This is essential to your success in life. Where you invest your time is where you invest your energy and if that energy is being wasted doing things that aren’t helping you level up in life, then it’s time to seek different avenues.
Make sure that you’re investing your time into activities that will help you to level up in life. Make sure that these activities can give you an abundant financial return.
Listen to this episode on how I used to invest my time and why I changed my ways as a result of self-examination.
The odds of being born is 400 trillion to one. That’s 400,000,000,000:1. You’re no accident. You were born on purpose for a purpose. It’s time for you to recognize and understand that.
Save this episode so you can replay it for the times that you think all is lost and you feel your lowest.
When you want to quit, you have many things that have made you come to this decision. A lot of times, it deals with your adversity in a situation. You’ve lost too many times at what you’re trying to accomplish and you’d rather give up than to continue on.
Here’s how and why it’s important to understand Nick Foles’ story of how he became a champion and became Super Bowl LII MVP after his moment of wanting to quit.
We all hit the wall and want to quit. What you decide to do with your decision will determine your destiny.
NO ONE, I REPEAT - NO ONE IS SELF-MADE. It’s a myth to think that someone made it all by themselves. That they had zero help and they used all of their own resources to win in life.
The fact is, EVERYONE gets help to the top. We need it. People use the term self-made as a way to identify they’ve made it through all of the struggles and had (what they perceive) as minimal help along the way.
Self-made is a selfish term. It denies all of the people that have helped you along your journey. It denies all of the sacrifices others have made for you to get to where you are today.
NO ONE’S SELF-MADE.
People get discouraged to easily. They allow what happens to them have a sustainable impact on their lives to the point that they perseverate on all of the negatives.
The only way to beat this is to understand that your all-time best efforts will get thwarted. It’s a fact.
In this podcast, I talk about the story of Colonel Sanders and how his chicken recipe was rejected over 1000 times before someone finally gave him a shot. Let me also add that he was 65 years old when he decided to start his entrepreneurial journey.
You’re never too old and it’s never too late. Keep going, keep doing and hustling.
Your breakthrough is closer than you think.
We live in a day where out cell phones are the biggest distraction we have in our life. Remember the saying, ‘don’t leave home without it?’
I’ve literally left the house without my wallet and thought nothing but if I were to leave my house without my phone, it’s the end of the world.
Here’s what I do to limit the distractions from my cell phone. It’s important to understand how to limit the power this device has over you when it’s time to be productive.
We are all born with greatness. The problem is that we depreciate our value by increasing others value. How do we do this? We often do it by praising people who have increased their ability and skills in certain areas and then we compare their superb skills to what we may lack.
The famous stat of the odds of us being born should be enough information for you to understand that you were destined for greatness.
The odds of being born into this world is 400 trillion to 1 or 400,000,000,000,000:1. Is that enough to make you understand that you weren’t born by accident?
Listen to this episode to understand what I mean. You have greatness within you. Activate that shit.
I WISH, WISH, WISH I had someone tell me this message when I was getting out of high school. I had a great mom but she was a single mother who was struggling to raise three of us. My dad was out of the picture and I didn’t have any good male role models to look up to.
I followed the crowd when it came to making life choices. Go to college, get a degree, get a secure job. God, I wish someone would’ve told me THIS MESSAGE. I wish someone would’ve said, “look dude, who cares about cars, girls and houses. You need to get your money working for you or you’ll be working for it for the rest of your life.”
I heard this message one time when I was 27. I shrugged it off but at that point, I needed a place to live and a job. I still wish I would’ve made the move then.
IF YOU’RE UNDER 25, LISTEN TO THIS MESSAGE. Save this episode so you can hear this message over and over. When life is getting you down while you’re on your entrepreneurial journey,
Know-it-alls are like cancer. They literally will destroy everything in their way. A know-it-all has no direction in life other than to make everyone else feel inferior to their endless knowledge.
The problem is that know-it-alls are stagnant. They’re afraid to make mistakes so they research. Extensively. They Wikipedia and Google everything to buffer against the fact that they have no life experience of their own to back up what they think they know.
Don’t allow these cancerous people to infect you. They aren’t trying to better their lives, they’re sole purpose is to make others feel inferior to their supreme knowledge.
Nothing is easy. That’s what I say to myself everyday. Every time I confront a task, I have this attitude. Why? Because I used to have the attitude that certain tasks were easier than others. And while that may seem true on the surface, I refuse to use that mental attitude towards what I’m accomplishing.
What I began to understand is that we give weight to certain tasks. When we deem them as being easy or hard, it then forces us to think the “easy” challenges will ALWAYS be easy.
But have you come across an “easy” challenge, only for it to be the most difficult thing that you’ve encountered?
Approach every task the same. Give it the same weight. Do not allow yourself to be misguided by “easy.”
Because sometimes “easy” can creep up on you and turn out to be harder than you could’ve imagined.
A lot of times we work and work and work. Kind of like that Rihanna song - work work work. And we don’t take the time to appreciate how far we’ve come. Why is that?
Well, part of it is because we live in a society that says if you’re not working, then you’re losing. But in all honesty, you need to stop and reflect every so often. It’s important for your growth.
It’s always good to see how far you’ve come and what you’ve accomplished.
This is all about celebrating how far you’ve come - for a moment. Not staying here and marveling at what you’ve done for a whole week.
Take time to see how far you’ve come and learn to appreciate yourself more. You’ll be glad that you did.
Confidence is key in EVERYTHING that you do. We love the feeling of having the utmost confidence. It makes us feel invincible. We feel like we have the ability to achieve the impossible.
The best way to get confidence? Get good at doing what you don’t like. That’s right. What you don’t like to do, you need to do more of. People run away from these challenges thinking they will just go away and they won’t have to worry about them. But the fact remains that your lack of confines comes from what you fear and it’s always the far of the unknown. And guess what’s in the unknown area - the stuff that you don’t like to confront.
Before I began this entrepreneurial journey, I didn't realize that the friends I was hanging with were bad influences on me. I don’t blame them, I blame me.
One of the first things I did when I began my journey was to get rid of dead weight. All of the friends that weren’t about becoming multimillionaires, I pushed them to the acquaintance category. Sound harsh? Yes. Didn’t mean that I didn't have love for them, it meant that I had more love for me.
If they had zero aspirations of leveling up, why would I hang with them? They’d never support me wanting to be better. Why? Because they themselves don’t want to become better.
Learn this. Understand this. And know one thing: I wasted the first 37 years of my life doing what was “cool,” fitting in and caring about what my friends thought. It lead me nowhere. Ever since I made the change, I’ve been to places I could never have imagined.
Make the change. It’ll take you to where you need to
We ALL experience fear and being scared. We ALL do. Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking they’re never scared. I understand that’s the mantra these days but let’s not kid ourselves - we all are scared of something.
Fear comes about when you’re extremely apprehensive about something and your extreme apprehension surfaces with every possible bad thing that could happen. It’s natural. It’s your body’s way of saying, “I wouldn't do that if I were you.”
But 95% of our fears are mental. With that known, most people create fears that are larger than life and are unable to push past these False Events Appearing Real. FEAR.
Listen to what you need to do from this episode.
Many people will claim that they’re doing whatever it takes but they really aren’t. Most people submit to how they feel or think that they must always look glamorous in the process of change.
These thoughts hinder people from getting the job done. They later will claim that they did whatever it took but they actually did the bare minimum.
This episode dives into how I brought this podcast to the public. In fact, I’m not recording this episode in a glamorous studio, it’s inside my car.
Whatever it takes.
Often times we’ll accept a situation that we know will turn ugly real quick if we don’t get on top of it. But what do we do? We push it back to a point when we think to ourselves, “that’s when I’ll get started.”
It’s called procrastination. And when you procrastinate, you add to your worry. And when you worry, you have lost control and don’t do work, you just hope and pray.
Play like a champion. Have a sense of urgency. Get the work done now. Be in control. Make stuff happen. Greatness awaits. GO
Champions have a mindset that is separate from the norm. They move with the sense of urgency. They don’t take the small details lightly, they take them seriously. It’s about having a sense of urgency. I break down the difference between worrying and urgency.
I break down why you NEED to have a sense of urgency and why you NEED to have a championship mindset.
We all have haters. Don’t look at it as a bad thing, look at it as a good thing. Why? Because Haters really are mad at themselves and wish they could be you and do what you do. They don’t have the courage to get out there and pursue their own so they have to throw shade on your actions.
Don’t allow these fools to taint your dreams. In fact, be happy that they’re hating. Be happy that they wish they could be you and do what you’re doing. They’re watching you for a reason.
And when you become successful, they’ll be the first ones to say that they know you.
Change is ugly. It’s not going to and not supposed to look glamorous. You have to be willing to embrace the ugly. You will encounter many trials and tribulations along the way but if you’re focused on looking good while you’re going through this challenging time, you will ultimately lose.
It’s hard for a reason. It’s ugly for a reason. Don’t try to make it look pretty for the sake of avoiding the ugly. Embrace the ugly. You’re journey through the ugly will ultimately land you in a place of beauty.
Change will challenge you. Change will make you feel frustrated, angry, apprehensive and unsure of every move that you make. But if you persevere through the changes and the apprehension, you will find yourself in a much better place mentally.
Because you’ve learned to defeat the demons of apprehension and frustration and now you’ve come out on the other side victorious.
We all have moments that test us on our way to accomplishing a certain goal. The tests are really challenges that push us beyond our limits and make us constantly question our reasoning to pursue such a goal.
Learn to push through and persevere. Learn to push through the doubt and apprehension. Learn to keep going. Otherwise, you’ll always you will always give in to the habit of quitting.
I remember when I got started in a company called Primerica. I was in charge of creating my own schedule and I wanted to only work 3-4 days a week. I remember the days that I wanted to take off were Friday, Saturday, Sunday and any holiday in between.
When I was done creating my schedule, I think I had less than 180 wroking days on my calendar. It was ridicuolous. How could I ever get work done with that mindset?
In this episode, I will also tell you about the countdown app that I had that would count down to when I was geting off on Friday’s.
Once I rejected this mindset, things changed. I began to see everyday as a new opportunity instead of seeing a day as Hump Day or TGIF. Listen to this episode and save it to be a reminder that everyday that you wake up is a day gifted to you to be maximized.
One thing that I’ve always noticed was consistent with the happiest people was that they were always willing to laugh at themselves. One of my favorite basketball players (Charles Barkley) used to always poke fun at himself on TV about his own play and how he messed up.
In this episode, I tell you about an embarrassing moment of my own when I was a teenager while dating. Hey, we ALL have these moments. Be willing to laugh at yourself. It’ll make you feel better, trust me.
People often wonder how I’m able to stay positive and motivated all the time. It’s because I make a choice to do so. It’s not by accident. it’s something that I've learned to cultivate ever since I worked in the school setting with the severe and profound students.
I learned that my attitude could impact someone else’s day and in learning that, I changed my ways. I went from “keeping it real” to “I’ll do whatever it takes to be psotive and change the world.”
Here’s how I do it.
I can tell you that 99.9% of the population does not know what they’re doing or want to do in the next 20 years. They don’t even know what they want to do tomorrow. If you’re one of these people, that’s okay. Allow me to give you insight on what I do to expect what I want in 2038.
We ALL do it. We ALL like to see the numbers on our recent post. We do it as an ego thing. We would like to feel like everyone likes us and that our numbers represent more than something else.
But in all honesty you can be a huge distraction and can negatively impact you if you do not have a game plan of how to attack social media. For entrepreneurs, social media as a tool to extend reach to find out who your customers are.
This is how I use social media to maximize my potential.
We all know what we need to do to become successful. It’s not a hidden formula. The problem is that we allow our feelings to get in the way of actually completing the tasks. Feelings will mess up your path to success and can ultimately derail you from attaining your goals.
You know what needs to be done. It’s time to get like Nike - Just Do It.
Whatever you truly want to achieve will require an immense amount of energy but will also include numerous obstacles. It will feel like a never-ending journey.
Challenges can appear within or outside of your business. How are you combating such challenges? Here’s a tip of what I do during times like this when it feels like I will never reach the end.
Time. It’s the one thing that you cannot get back once it’s used. Time is precious but it can be wasted very easily if you’re not aware of the things that you’re doing.
What have you prioritized as important and what have you deemed as unimportant or pushed to the back burner.
Listen to what I tell entrepreneurs when they’re looking to maximize every minute of everyday.
It’s not enough to create a goal, you must make sure you do whatever it takes to cultivate that goal. I review my goals daily to make sure that I’m on track to achieve what I’ve set out to do.
In this episode, I go over how I review my weekly goals and my thought process towards how I attack my next week.
There will be many walls (tests) in your life that you will run into. Many of them. It’s not about wishing they weren’t there, it’s about how badly do you want to attain your goal.
It’s that simple.
This is a test. It’s meant to challenge you. Figure out how to go through that wall and how to get stronger and stay ready for the next wall (test) along your journey.
I rarely tell people when they should take time to relax. Why? Because all they focus on is how they can get out of the work and do nothing. But there are times when you do need to hit the pause button. Here’s when and how you should use your time off to recharge your battery.
We all have daily challenges that make us feel like we’re the only ones going through such a rough situation. We often start comparing our challenges to others as if we’re receiving a reward for who can deal with the most obstacles.
Don’t get caught up comparing. We all have struggles. Focus on impacting your future. We all have struggles. It’s just a matter of who’s willing to conquer them and who’s going to stay stuck complaining about them.
It’s the second day of the new year and people are starting to realize that the goal they have set will require more than just being motivated to get them through.
You don’t need motivation. You need finite focus. You need a daily plan of attack to keep you focused on what you’re working towards. Most people know what they have to do but are unwilling to commit to it because they feel unmotivated.
Get to work. Don’t be like most people. In the end, most people will lose and never see their goal. Only the committed become winners. You’re a winner. Stay committed.
The only way to maximize everyday is to stop giving certain days of the year more weight than others. Often times people take it easy because it’s the holidays or it’s the weekend.
Everyday that you wake up is a blessing. You have those 24 hours and that’s it. Maximize that time and then wake up and do the same thing tomorrow and everyday thereafter.
The only way to ring in the new year is to have the right mindset. The right mindset is key to your development and anything that you want to change in your life.
Don’t get sucked into the New Years hype. Don’t allow others to deter you from your dreams because they’ve given up. Don’t allow others to distract you from your focus.
This podcast will help you to stay the course and understand the importance of a purpose driven life.
Let’s ring in the new year with a new mindset and a new you. Save this podcast so you can always listen to it, especially at the end of next year.
Your growth will happen when you do things when you don’t feel like doing them. YES. It’s a conquering of your mindset. When you’ve defeated the thoughts of wanting to chill out and do nothing, wanting to take it easy, wanting to do nothing - but you’ve decided to do work anyway... THAT’S when you win.
That’s when you’ve increased the strength of your winning mindset. It’s time. The time is now. Reinforce that winner’s mindset and do the job when you don’t feel like doing it.
Time won’t wait for you. In fact, time is the hottest commodity in this life. We all wish we had more time. Are you prioritizing your time to benefit you? Do you think that you have absolutely no time in a day to get things done? I’ve got the solution for you. You’re not going to like it but it’s not about liking it, it’s about doing what’s necessary to get things done.
Don’t invest energy into trying to do anything. Invest that energy into doing. There’s a huge difference. When you try, you give yourself an out when you fail. When you commit to doing, you’re committed to a certain result and when you fail, it’s seen as par for the course. Get it? Let go of trying and commit to doing.
We love our friends but sometimes our friends can be a huge detriment to our current standing. This is a wake up episode to make you understand who’s willing to cheer for your success or who’s willing to throw shade on it.
The end of the year always brings out the masses of people claiming that the next year is going to be totally different. Next year it’s going to change and things will be blissfully perfect.
Don’t be like the masses.
Learn to finish what you’ve started. Haven’t started anything? Great! Start now. Don’t waste away your days planning your perfect start to a new year only to get discouraged at the first obstacle. Start today. You’ll have a head start on the masses and a new and different mindset as well.
I’m not self-made. I will not sit here and act like I’m at this Platinum Tier 1 Level of Perfection while I’m on my entrepreneurial journey. Each one of you have had a positive impact on my life and I’m extremely grateful for all of you. This podcast is to extend a thank you to all of you.
These knuckleheads are everywhere. They multiply daily and they seem to have found a special place on the internet. They’re like viruses. Don’t allow these viruses (people) to impact your day. Trust me, 99.9% of them have nothing better to do but to try to ruin someone’s day. And that alone is sad. Be the difference maker. Keep being you and deflect these bastards.
Don’t get caught in the trap of creating New Year’s resolutions. Create your goals today. Now. Right now. Why? Because you have one life and you have a purpose in this life and if you don’t know your purpose, it’s time to find it. Write down your goals. Gain clarity and find your purpose so you can live a purpose driven life.
Christmas is three days away and many things can happen between now and then that can impact people negatively. Don’t draw hard lines in the sand out of anger and frustration. Do not allow situations to become Mount Everest and get you out of sorts.
Things will happen and something will throw you off but take it with a grain of salt. Choose to enjoy the holiday season. If it won’t matter in five years, then don’t spend more than five minutes thinking about it.
Living a purpose driven life is the most important thing you can do. You were born to do something great. What is that ‘something?’ Do you know? It’s okay if you don’t. Not many people know their purpose in life.
Don’t be discouraged. When I uploaded my first episode, I knew that I wanted to bring the energy to people but I didn't know how. I didn't know what kind of style to do things or how often I should create an episode. That was at episode 001. Now I’m at episode 100. You never know how far you can go. Just do it and you’ll figure it out along the way.
Be sure to listen to my very first podcast, Positivity Energy is Reciprocal and then find other podcasts that relate to wha you’re going through or have been through in your life.

There are a lot of times when family and friends can be the biggest deterrents when it comes to you looking to better your standing in life. Be sure that you surround yourself with the right family and friends.
This means that you’re going to have to keep the Negative Nancy’s and the ones that “keep it real” at a distance. It doesn’t mean that you hate them, it means that you’re surrounding yourself with the right people that will push you to be better everyday.
Yes. Yes. Don’t fight it. Embrace it. We all try to fight what’s naturally who we are to fit into society’s norms and we end up feeling as if we’re not good enough in the end. We end up only focusing on our faults as opposed to embracing our strengths and quirks.
When you embrace your quirks and everything that separates you from society’s norms, people are going to think you’re crazy. Good. I’d rather be crazy for accepting myself than to be normal hating myself. Be crazy today.
We have seven days to Christmas. It can become extremely stressful for many around this time of year. Do your best not to let little things become big problems. If it won’t matter in five years, then don’t give it more than five minutes of attention.
In this podcast, I take you back to a story of mine that happened in 2012 right around this time of year and my reaction to a Visa gift card. Many learning lessons from my life that I will always share with you.
Most people half-ass things or look for shortcuts to instant success. And when the shortcuts don’t work, they use an excuse for why they didn’t achieve their end goal. What if you have all out effort like your life depended on it EVERYDAY? What if you let nothing get in the way of what you truly wanted and you fought that battle EVERYDAY. No matter what. Do you think you’d have different results? I can answer that question for you with an emphatic YES.
I remember when I began this entrepreneurial journey and my relationship to sleep. I found out that I could survive off of 6 hours of sleep but I was more productive and aware when I had 7 hours of sleep. Thus, the change went into effect to wake up at 4am instead of 3am. What’s your circadian rhythm? Follow that. Figure out what your body ideally needs to thrive not just survive everyday.
The things you so desperately want will require an enormous amount of energy, time and persistence. It won’t be as easy as you would like it to be. Let me be frank, you’re going to through Hell to get it. You’re going to be stressed to your wit’s end. You’re nerves will be fried and you’ll forget who you are or how you’re supposed to act or be. You’ll be truly lost but only a few keep going until they reach the end. If it’s worth it, you’ll keep going.
There are many people that are silently suffering around the holiday season. They’re trying to hide the fact that they’re hurting inside and that they need some extra love right now. We all know someone who could use a pick-me-up.
Be a sounding board for someone. Give someone a hug, pay it forward or simply say hi. Do something that will make someone feel good today. And if you are that someone that needs a pick-me-up, make sure you email me: AskTheRealFredLee@gmail.com.
Today, December 13, 2017, is my 11 year wedding anniversary to Michelle Blumenberg. I’m a blessed man. There’s been MANY peaks and valleys. Many good, bad and ugly things that have happened along the way. Nothing went the way we planned. In fact, she wanted two kids and I wanted six. We ended up with four. If you don’t have someone who’s supportive of your life’s choices, you’ll have a battle on your hands that may not end well. It’s too challenging.
Make sure that your spouse supports the majority of your choices. It will help when you step out and fight the real world. Listen to my Tuesday’s podcast, The Truth About Being an Entrepreneurial Dad/Husband and listen to the first episode 001: Having a Supportive Spouse is Key. It’s a candid version of my thoughts at that very moment.
In this world of distractions, we can easily lose sight of what we want out of life. It’s easy to get deterred from our goals and what we desire in this life. Here’s why it’s important to create goals and to stay focused on what you truly want in your life.
I’m curious to know how your friends and family view risk because it will determine how you view risk and ultimately how you go about taking risks in your life. Our closest family and friends have a lot of influence on how we make choices if we aren’t diligent about sticking to our core values. Don’t allow your family and friends to thwart your ideas because their viewpoint on risk is that of death. Listen to episode 026: A Risk is Really a Challenge, when you’re done listening to this episode.
You don’t get burnt out doing what you love to do. You get burnt out when you don’t have vision, clarity and purpose. Find all three in your daily routine and stay focused on the purpose and you’ll live a better life. A purpose driven life. Email me to gain clarity: AskTheRealFredLee@gmail.com. I’ll give you 30 minutes of free coaching today!!
We ALL have haters. You should want haters. You need them. Why? Because they reaffirm what you’re doing is good. Let me be blunt: We don’t need anyone to approve what we’re doing here. But it’s nice to hear someone that invests that much energy into hating on what you’re doing. It means they wish they had what you have. Now I’m not talking about boasting about what you have. I’m merely talking about why we need the presence of haters. Let them hate. That’s their job.
You’ll be surprised how many people hate on themselves mentally. I used to do this shit all the time. I’d tear myself down and tell myself that I couldn’t do something based on some made up excuse because I was scared to actually succeed at something. Sounds crazy right? People do it everyday. I’m just here to help people get out of their own way. I finally did. It was the best damn thing to ever happen to me.
You will never get what you want by playing it safe by society’s unwritten rules. Have you ever noticed that the people that get what they want, don’t play by any rules? If you want something bad enough in this life, you have to become like a child who thinks they’ll die if they don’t get their favorite toy. Go after what you want like your life depends on it - because it does.
No matter how awesome your plan may seem, it can get rejected. This deters many people. No one likes rejection. However, if you have the mindset of seeing the task to completion, you would understand that the rejection and anything else that happens during the process is just par for the course. Just complete it and finish the task.
A lot of times we structure our day around satisfying others. When people ask us why we do what we do, we often times say it’s for someone else. And that’s all good and all. But what about YOU? What about doing something to prove to YOU that YOU can do it? Are YOU not enough? C’mon now. It’s time to do something for YOU for a change. I’ll be your biggest cheerleader. There. Now you have someone in your corner that will cheer you on NO MATTER WHAT!! Now go kick ass.
Life has a way of delivering a great blindside hit. It loves to deliver a perfect blow to you when you’re not even paying attention. These are the daily battles that we fight. It’s time to get up and fight back. Yes that hit hurt. No- it’s not alright to curl up in a ball and quit. Let’s fight!!
Everyone that knows me, knows I keeps the energy. I stay positive. That’s why I created this podcast to help others create the same mindset. But listen, negativity is like a cold. That shit will get you at some point and it’s okay. The idea is to fight off negativity and not allow it to stick to you ala Teflon Don Positive Mindset.
We live in a predominantly negative world. People easily gravitate towards the negative aspects because that’s what they’re used to. So when you employ a consistent pattern of positivity, people tend to think there’s something wrong with you. Like you’re full of shit. Why? Because they can’t comprehend why you’d be so happy. Fuck them. Seek happiness. Surround yourself with people like me and your life will be a hell of a lot better. Trust me.
There are many challenges in this world. One of the biggest challenges is remaining positive in a mostly negative world. That shit is hard. No question. But you have to be willing and ready to fight back everyday you wake up.
I was a professional partier. I have a PhD in partying. My major was the Life of the Party. I used I live for the weekend, only to complain and waste away Monday through Thursday to be happy Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That’s not living, that’s reserving my happiness which I spoke of in Episode 011: You Should Never Postpone Your Happiness. Everyday is precious. Enjoy today for tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Rejection sucks. I fucking hate it. So do you. So how do we use what we hate to our advantage? We do more work. That’s right. Do more. We’re looking to come back harder, stronger, faster, better. We’re not crawling into the fetal position to allow Life to beat us down and then whine about the rejection. Fuck that. Get up. Get tough skin. Get back out there. Fight.
On this Thanksgiving day, I am giving thanks to all of my listeners, viewers and people that have told me how I’ve impacted their lives. I’m also giving advice on how I give and don’t look to receive and the return on doing that.
Nothing happens by accident. Nothing. That’s right I said it. I know that stupid shit happens but when you think like I said (like a victor instead of a victim) you shift your mindset. You shift your expectations and you shift your focus. Here’s what happened to me and how you can learn from my fuck up.
Not many people like change. In fact, most people hate change. It involves stepping outside of their comfort zone which equals death. At least that’s their perception. Whatever change you encounter will come with lots of turbulence. You won’t die. Just go with it. You’ll figure it out after a while. Trial and error.
Everyday I give tips on how to stay motivated and keep a positive mindset. It may even appear that I can never be upset or make a mistake. That’s the furthest from the damn truth. There’s one thing I know how to be and that’s positive and energetic. But I too fuck up and have fits of rage. Take a listen and find out for yourself.
Often times we get caught up thinking that we have endless free time. We push projects to the last minute thinking that we only need so much time to complete a task. Until it’s time to complete that task. And then we’re upset when the first few obstacles come about. Listen to how I maximize my time with a crazy house of four kids.
When I started my entrepreneurial journey in October 2015, my first mentor was Grant Cardone. The one thing he constantly preached was The 10X Rule. Using ten times more activity to do any project so that you’re guaranteed results. Most people do barely enough and want 10X results. Grant helped me to understand that when you commit to The 10X Rule, you will get an abundance. Here’s my example of how it worked for me.
When you go out of your way to make everyone on planet earth to be happy and leave out the most important person, you- you’re saying ‘fuck you, you don’t deserve happiness.’ Learn to say no. Learn to keep negative assholes out of your inner circle. Learn to stand up for your own happiness. Jesus had haters. You will have some too. Seek your own happiness. You’ll be a lot happier for it.
I talk a lot about the grey area and how it’s bullshit. The grey area consists of how you feel about what you need to fucking be doing. But what if you could use the grey area to your advantage? What if you could use how you feel to make you do things as opposed to creating a whining session towards what you have to do? Listen to what I mean in this podcast.
Everyone wants the one thing that’ll cure all. The one magic blessing that will get rid of all their problems. Perhaps that’ll happen in the next life but until then, you will encounter new problems (challenges) for the New blessings that are given to you. Not everything is a curse. Take that nagging problem and solve it. Move on to the next one. We all have more than 99 problems.
Yesterday was a terrible day for me. One of those days where all kinds of crazy shit happens and I just couldn’t get out of the funk. But it was one day. It’s done. It’s over with. I choose to be happy everyday. Choose - key word. As long as I’m proactive about how I choose for my days to be, I will always get what I choose to focus on.
People are always holding out for that perfect moment, perfect guy, perfect job, house, car and on and on. Stupid shit. Why? Why wait. Why limit yourself? Why are you thinking it’s okay to limit yourself to something that’s not going to happen the way you want it to happen? You want your dreams to come true?? Commit to massive action.
On this Veterans Day in the United States, we take the time to thank the veterans for their service. But what if we also took the time to thank the ones that helped us become who we are. It takes a village to raise a child. So thank the ones in your village for helping you out today.
Why wait. Why. Why would you ever add time to your decision of what the fuck you need to be doing? Why? To wait for the perfect scenario to fall out of the sky? So your banking on that? That’s what we’re rolling the dice on? Stop it. Take control. Take action. TODAY. There are no tomorrow’s. Take out the ‘what if’s’ and be in control of your outcomes.
There are times when we feel like we can’t control anything. Those are usually the times that we perseverate on things that happen to us that we have no control of. Hyper focus on the things that you can control and dominate those things. Everything else will fall into place if you can do that.
We ALL have haters and naysayers in our own family. That old saying “blood is thicker than water” don’t mean shit to me. Because blood can turn on you in a New York minute. Here’s my story about me and my Grandpa Walter and why I’ve kept him at a distance. Keep negativity in your life at a distance.
You get one life on planet earth. ONE. There are no do-overs, reset buttons, pause, etc. There is go and that’s it. Time doesn’t stop for anyone or anything. It just keeps going. How are you going to use that time? Don’t waste it living out someone else’s bullshit life. Live life on your terms. What do you want in your life?
My trip to the store yesterday in my wife’s rain boots brought me to tell you why it’s important for you to do things outside of your comfort zone. Practice Zero Fucks Given everyday to strengthen your positive mindset.
This is the type of session that folks need to commit to doing no less than once a week. It’s time to cut the bullshit out of your life. It makes no sense to waste valuable time when you can cut the shit and get answers.
