TNT ESQ: Episode 24 with Terry Eastwind Nichols - SELF SABOTAGE, PROCRASTINATION AND TRAUMA
Our guest today is Oleg Lougheed.
For Rhys and myself, Oleg is a fellow member of the HumansFirst Club whose energy and perspective and stories always add richness to the dialogue.
Oleg is the Founder and Producer of The Overcoming Odds Podcast which focuses on sharing personal journey's and breakthroughs.
Today’s conversation is definitely an eavesdropping kind of conversation because we three are on an exploration of thought.
What do you need to belong to, in order to feel belonging?
Oleg has such an inquisitive mind and heart and so this episode of TNT ESQ is likely to challenge the status quo of what each of us has actually considered up to this point when it comes to our own belonging, our identity, our community, how we are in the world.
Belonging – what will we do in order to belong? What do we need to do?
To connect with Oleg, you can find him on LinkedIn and reach out to his website: overcomingodds.today

Author ~ Vision Strategist ~ Grand Master Cellular Regression Practitioner
These are the titles that follow Terry Eastwind Nichols name on his LinkedIn profile.
However, Terry is a fellow member of the HumansFirst Club with Rhys and myself, and brings, to our conversations, great insights and quotes and perspectives that often leaves the group with a pause or silence to consider.
This is the mark of life experience and wisdom.
Terry works with clients within a process called Grand Master Cellular Regression; a process that he developed after experiencing a traumatic life event. Through his work, he helps people unlock and unblock traumatic events that are keeping them stuck.
Sometimes the 'stuck' manifests itself as procrastination, and in this episode of TNT ESQ, we explore with Terry the cycle of trauma, self-sabotage, and procrastination.
PLEASE NOTE: This episode contains stories of trauma, based on client examples that Terry has encountered. He uses these stories to demonstrate the power of his practice. Discretion is advised as these stories may be difficult to listen to.
If you would like to get in touch with Terry, you can find him on:

Our guest today is Edward Okopny.
Both Rhys and I have met and engaged with Edward via LinkedIn. We suggest you do the same. After all, he's open to all connections and conversations! Plus...when you connect and examine his profile description, this is the amazing-ness you will find.
Everything can change in the blink of an eye… It is not the events or circumstances that we encounter in our life that guide us forward or determines our destiny. It is however, what we learn and the way we choose to take action that shapes our future. I also believe, the people that come in and out of our lives can have a substantial impact on us and that there is no relationship without value. Supporting this, is an understanding that happiness is a daily choice and no matter what obstacles we are confronted with, there is always something positive that will come from them. I think the key, is not expecting to know what that will be, but simply believing it will be so.
The cornerstone of my relationships and partnerships is trust, without it there really is no future. As I move forward to maximize the opportunities in front of me, I will continue to learn from all I encounter, embrace the relationships I have, and look forward to who and what will come my way in the future.
This conversation with Edward unleashes the exploration of Something Good Will Come of This - the empowerment to look at every opportunity through the lens of positivity and optimism. Why? Because it feels good to do so. Better than the alternative.
You can connect with Edward Okopny on LinkedIn, follow on Instagram, and check out his amazing stuff on his YouTube Page - the EJO Zone.
On our previous episodes of TNTESQ we have spent time introducing our guest by their role or their qualifications or something related to status of achievement. While our guest today has all of those things, I would like to do a somewhat special introduction.
Arlene Mendoza is BFF material. Rhys and I both met Arlene via HumansFirst and Arlene is likely best known for the power of her storytelling.
We are insanely excited to have Arlene explore the topic of the push and pull we each experience in our lives - expectations, standards, should's compared to internal vision and purpose and drive and needs. with us today to get a sprinkle of your stories and lessons and insights!
Arlene took the leap - a big one - a hiatus to invest in herself. Not many of us have the courage to take such a leap; to hold up the mirror, to give ourselves that time and dedication to aligning and connecting with ourselves.
This is one heck of a dialogue!
Jordan is the Author of “The Journey to Cloud Nine” and the best-selling book called Getting Comfy: Your Morning Guide to Daily Happiness and an Executive Coach of his company Cloud Nine Living and a Certified Leadership Coach under Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching, and a TEDx speaker on Getting Comfy in the Uncomfy and upcoming TEDx speaker on why self help is not helping March 3, 2020 in New Jersey.
Genuine Human Connection seems to be a 'thing' Jordan has had in spades from a young age. Whether it was because he had an underdog mentality or because he cared so much for people, he kept true to honouring this need to connect with people deeply throughout his life.
Along his journey he has tapped into people's stories to have his own moments of 'ah ha' and believes the power of a story is to share it with as many people as possible.

Dr. Melissa Hughes is a self-proclaimed neuroscience geek, author and speaker.
Having spent the first decade of her professional career in education observing how the brain works through the lives of her students, she realized there were simple, applicable tools that could optimize performance outcomes and improve their overall learning processes.
Understanding how to learn, how to solve problems, and to think creatively becomes even more important once we leave the classroom and step into the work-life arena.
Dr. Hughes combines her experience in education with extensive research in neuroscience and behavioral psychology to share simple, applicable strategies that improve performance and outcomes in our professional and personal lives.
In this episode we explore how the brain works optimally, how to amp up the hormones that put our brain in the best possible situation for critical thinking, empathy, problem solving, and creativity, imposter syndrome, and the one thing you can start doing NOW to get your brain to function better!

Our guest is our #1 TNT fan and supporter - Shelley Brown!
Shelley Brown believes mindfulness is not what we've all been led to believe.
Mindfulness is becoming more and more mainstream, and yet it still gets greeted with the “cringe” factor, gets put in the "too weird for the workplace" basket or worse yet, put in the same category as “chair massage”.
Shelley understands, she too was a "Cringer". As a former high-octane sales pro and endurance athlete, she was a total skeptic and thought mindfulness was for tea-drinking yogis (not that there's anything wrong with that). She soon learned the truth and what has become a way of life has now turned into her purpose.
Shelley's mission is to invite leaders to explore this transformative practice in an inclusive and accessible way with the intention to make it “sticky” not "icky" leading to a sustainable mindful culture.
Rather than a focus on what's often seen as woo-woo, weird approaches, Shelley know it's a practice of rock stars and warriors... a practice that transcends calm...a practice that invites leaders to extend time in the present, to be conscious, to practice real-time self-awareness, to “Walk their Talk”, to lead with accountability, resilience, compassion, openness, equanimity and heart.
Shelley spent decades in the corporate world in national and regional sales management roles in both high-tech and hospitality industries. Today she remains connected to the corporate world...only now as a Rock Star Mindfulness speaker and workshop facilitator!
Shelley believes this practice of mindfulness helps us to find more joy and show up better for each other.

Our guest today is Jennifer Beitz. Rhys and I both met Jennifer through HumansFirst Club. Her energy contributions are always so thoughtful and encouraging toward the self!
Jennifer helps women shatter their limiting beliefs.
She was a classic example of a woman holding herself back from the next level of success in life, business and career.
She spent many years thinking that she wasn’t enough, wasn’t ready.
In the personal work to elevate herself she discovered that every time she reinforced a limiting belief, she was right!
From the experiences rises the Phoenix – Jennifer is using her own personal path as the way to help others reach their next level of success.
Sitting with Discomfort of the Truth is Harder than Sitting with the Current Emotional Discomfort by Staying in the Un-Truth. Shatter limiting beliefs.

It may sound simple, however it just isn't, and throughout this conversation, Simon demonstrates and explains that getting to know people – giving positive/appreciative feedback – entering FLOW – to gain greater appreciation for each other is, at it's foundation, about being nice.
