Ep. 69| Bank of Canada Rate Cut: Relief or Recipe for More Inflation?

Ep. 69| Bank of Canada Rate Cut: Relief or Recipe for More Inflation?

A recent Toronto Star article predicts the Bank of Canada will cut interest rates in June. However, current economic data suggests inflation might be on the rise which usually discourages rate cuts. In this episode Owen and I discuss the potential changes in interest rates by the Bank of Canada and their implications for the economy and individuals.

We chat about:

  • DC's reflections on life lessons, gratitude, and faith.

Ep. 57 | Canada's Immigration Problem, Is Affordable Housing Coming Back? & Unpredictable Interest Rates

In a recent Instagram Live session, I discussed some alarming trends that sparked a flurry of questions and concerns from our audience. Today, we're delving into the aftermath of the slowest sales we've witnessed in decades.

We explore a multitude of factors contributing to this uncertainty, from issues with reconstruction and delayed closings to persistent affordability challenges. Inflation remains a looming concern, and the prospect of interest rates decreasing anytime soon seems unlikely.

Surprisingly, amidst the overall slowdown, certain segments of the market are witnessing heightened competition. Multiple offers are becoming the norm, with one property even garnering 18 offers and selling for a whopping 50K over the asking price. Could this be a sign of a nuanced market, potentially driven by specific property types like condominiums? Tune in to hear my thoughts and key takeaways for you to consider

Ep. 44 | Cultivating Critical Thinking: Escaping the Echo Chamber of Indoctrination

Ep. 44 | Cultivating Critical Thinking: Escaping the Echo Chamber of Indoctrination

It can be challenging having a conversation with someone when you challenge their beliefs and everything they’ve known. In our Flat Earth episode, I had people calling me crazy and all sorts of names. It got me wondering, why are we so quick to resort to this type of behaviour when such a topic becomes a part of discussion? Instead of engaging in discussion; we immediately dismiss it and rest in our way of thinking without exploring if what we’ve known could possibly be wrong.

Since we’re young, our school system has guided us in educating us. We’ve all been through the system. But could what they taught us be wrong? Are we loyal to authority figures? Can we all collectively govern ourselves and come to our own conclusions? In my opinion, we need to be introspective and challenge what we know and why we believe it.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Our flat earth episode and the response

  • Our education system

  • Ushering a new way of identifying yourself

  • Hidden messages in music, and entertainment to derail us from God

EP 43 | Spooked and Unmasked: Unveiling the Hidden Dangers of Halloween

EP 43 | Spooked and Unmasked: Unveiling the Hidden Dangers of Halloween

October is one of my favorite times of the year! The air is crisper, leaves change, and the lead-up to Halloween. I’ve celebrated Halloween my whole life and enjoyed every moment I got to dress up and be with my friends. As I got older and went into my faith, I began researching the origins of Halloween.

As I dug deeper into the history and how it began, I realized how it traced back to the Celtic festival in Samhain. It was a tradition held at the end of summer when sacrifices were made to the gods in Druid tradition. Halloween never involved wearing costumes, it was rather a solemn event focused on prayer and meditation.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Feeling the disconnect between the celebration of Halloween and maintaining our faith

  • What are the true origins of Halloween?

  • Does Halloween still hold the same meaning as its origins compared to how we celebrate it today?

  • Why we wear costumes on Halloween

  • How religious families should approach celebrating Halloween

  • The significance of Oct 31

Ep. 42 | The Censorship Paradox: Balancing Security and Freedom

It’s becoming a challenge to have a free-flowing conversation these days without having the need to watch over every word that comes out of your mouth. Censorship has become a tool where it can be weaponized for the actions and words that come out of your mouth. We’re reaching a point where harmless things we do & say online could have significant repercussions for yourself & those around you.

In this episode, Owen and I have a relaxed conversation about this phenomenon that has plagued our society. What discuss:

  • Qualifying ourselves before we speak

  • Understanding microaggressions

  • Men becoming weaker

  • How words are used against us

  • Having to fit in

EP. 40 | Dollars and Sense: Navigating the Landscape of Financial Literacy

It seems that the talk and understanding of personal finance is slowly moving away from us. As I observe the upcoming generation, I’m noticing there’s a lack of financial literacy being taught and making them understand how this is a core aspect in them having fulfilling lives. In this episode, Owen and I go deep in discussing how schools, and the system have eliminated the platform to learn essential skills in making money. We dive in the psychology of making money, and how every adult who has a kid can set the foundational principles on how to view money. We discuss: - How schools don’t teach us about money - People don’t know how to save - Parents starting a business with their children - Buying expensive things - Financial traps people get into - Learning material to read to get a better understanding of money And more! Ep. 38 | Flat Earth vs. Round Earth: A Battle of Beliefs

Ep. 38 | Flat Earth vs. Round Earth: A Battle of Beliefs

DC fam, I could not wait to talk about this topic! Ever since I opened my eyes and challenged my way of thinking in the realm we live in, I started asking questions. When we were growing up as children, we were taught about space, how the earth is a globe, NASA, and everything in between. When you look around you, everything is flat. The water has no curve, you rarely feel the dip in curvature or even the globe spinning as fast as they say it is. I also find it interesting when you socially oppose the round earth belief you get demonized for believing that. It’s crazy. I want to share with you why I believe the Earth is flat, and why the heliocentric model has been indoctrinated in us when past civilizations documented the earth as flat. On the episode, Owen and I talk about: - How I started believing the earth was flat - Scientific evidence proving the earth is flat - God’s creation of earth - How we’ve been indoctrinated as a society - The pull away from God and religion - Why do they want us to believe the Earth is round? Ep. 32 | Conspiracy Theories & The New World Order: Debunking What’s Coming

Welcome back DC fam! Boy you’re in for a treat today. I’ve been a big believer in how they’re outer forces working against us to advance as a society. When I got exposed to certain ideas, and the groups who control us; I denied it and didn’t want to acknowledge that certain ideas could be true.

After doing my own research, I came to the conclusion that there is evidence that makes it true. Owen and I do a deep dive into how we’re fed false information on the news, how they're secret societies that control all industries, and how the collective consciousness can’t see the truth hidden in plain sight.

We get into:

  • The lizard people

  • The dark truths of Hollywood

  • Fake narratives created to keep you in fear

  • The new world order that is upon us

  • How we’re about to be controlled in all facets of our lives

Ep. 30 | Digital Disruption: How Technology is Reshaping Real Estate

Welcome back for a brand new episode, DC fam! In today’s podcast, we’re discussing how technology is influencing the real estate industry. There are so many platforms that are emerging to empower agents to be at the top of their game and applications that provide clients with a smooth selling & buying process.

In our episode, Owen and I focus on how video is becoming a key driving force for agents. Agents have to adopt a video strategy to provide their prospective clients with an inside look into their listings, and their knowledge of the market, and build relationships with their audience from a distance. Refusing to adopt video poses a risk to an agent's business in 2023 and beyond.

In the episode, we discuss:

  • Realtors have to adopt a video strategy to survive

  • Virtual Reality in real estate

  • Emerging platforms realtors have to use in 2023

  • Potential threats to real estate from the advancement of technology

Ep. 28 | The Slippery Slope: Unmasking the Allure of Vices

We all have indulged with vices at one point or another in our lives. Inherently, we know these vices are bad but they offer a level of gratification that provides us with a temporary escape. If we know they are bad, why do we keep coming back?

In today’s conversation, Owen and I discuss how vices are collectively being normalized. We’re living in a time where we have so much access to nudity, drugs, alcohol, and gambling because of how technology has evolved. Vices that were deemed as taboo are now being commercialized.
